Aedan sat in the tea shop, in the far corner, normally he'd brew his own but he'd been rather busy and decided to try this shop. So far it had been very good, the hot peppermint tea quickly became his favorite.

The shop itself was rather full today, he'd gotten the last table, so he sat enjoying his tea.

Great, this is really what I needed to end this day in a blast: a crowd of humans!

Hasuka simply ignored Kohakuren. She was NOT going to pass on her evening tea, not now that she had discovered that place. They really had some delicious brews, and Hasuka had come to love it... But that day, she really had to agree with Kohakuren: the place was crowded. She was about to head towards the last table left free, but a boy with brown hair beat her to it and took a seat. The oriental girl was left staring at the boy, puzzled for a moment.

Uh... Excuse me...

She tried to say

Just ask him already! Males don't bite, you know...

Desperatly hoping for the boy to have missed Kohakuren's words in the chaos, she finally mustered up the courage to ask

May I have a seat? There are no other tables left...

Aedan looked up, his glowing blue eyes seeing a girl around his age, he could have sworn he had heard two voices, the other sounded less pleasant.

Thinking he'd been mistaken, he smiled and nodded, "please, feel free to join me," he said in his British accent. Most who viewed him as a loaner, this wasn't true, he liked talking, he was just generally bad with crowds. "Pardon me, but are you new?," he liked helping others, even if thar help was simply making a newcomer feel welcomed. "I'm Aedan Drago," he wondered how she would react to his eyes, "thank you for joining me."

Hasuka couldn't help but blush a little. The boy was very well-mannered and, well, she wasn't really used to dealing with males in general, so she found the situation to be quite embarrassing. At the same time, it was nice to have a normal conversation for once: Hasuka wondered if maybe...

Hey Hasuka, this human is totally hitting on you! Aren't you going to say anything?

... Ah yes, of course. Kohakuren couldn't just allow her to have a moment to herself, and to talk with another person normally, for a change.

Kohakuren... Please BE QUIET. Haven't you put me in enough embarrassing situations already? Are you ever going to be satisfied?

Ok, ok, geez... It's not like I enjoy being stuck with you, either...

Hasuka breathed in and out. She just needed to stay calm, and she could conquer that situation. She knew she could.

I apologize, the disembodied voice you hear is... Well, something I have to shoulder. Anyway, thank you for your kindness: my name is Hasuka and yes, I am indeed new on this island.

His smile never left as she blushed a bit, he was a gentleman but she was a beautiful girl. He raised an eyebrow at the voice for a sec, but his smile returned as she explained it was something she had to deal with, "I understand, and its all right, please take a seat." He wasn't going to judge her based on something he couldn't control.

He took a sip of his tea, "its very nice to meet you Hasuka." Aedan wasn't very social, he hadn't been in a while, but she seemed nice, "may I ask where your from?" she looked Oriental, but that hardly meant she was from Asia. "I'm from England," he smiled and chuckled, "though you could probably guess that from my accent." He used to try an hide it, but he had sense given up on that.

"I hope everything has been going good sense you arrived," the glow of his eyes brightened with his enjoyment in the conversation. "Honestly I haven't been here all that long myself but if you need help with anything, feel free to ask," he gave her a kind smile, "I understand that it must be difficult moving to a new place, especially if its Manta Carlos, so many odd yet amazing things to see."

Hasuka did her best to match her new friend's casual tone.

A-actually, this is my first time ever setting foot out of my homeland, so I don't really know that much about the outside world. I don't even know where this "England" you speak of would be.

Eh, call me crazy, but I actually liked it better back at the village. At least there they would worship us. But between going from school to school all over Japan and coming here, life hasn't been easy for the heroine and the parasite...

You are not fooling anyone with that bait and switch, you know. It's obvious that by "parasite" you mean me...

Aww, the girl is getting smarter, I'm so proud!

Sigh... Anyway, as you might have guessed by now I'm from Japan. Now, I would tell you about the events that brought me here, but you know what? If Kohakuren can break the fourth wall, so can I: let's just do the "and so, a few minutes later" thing, shall we?

And so, a few minutes later

... And that is all there is to know about how and why I ended up on this island. I apologize for not having a more interesting or exciting story to tell.

He gave her a kind smile and decided it was best to ignore the other voice, "its fine, and don't sell yourself short it was very interesting," and he meant it. "Japan's culture is something I've wanted to learn more about."

"So, I assume your a student....which class are you most interested in?" the supernatural is still new to him so he himself was taking various classes on it. "I'm liking Vampire Bloodlines."

He took a sip of his tea, "what do you do during your free time?"

Train, mostly. As the sole heir to my family, I have a duty to master the martial art which I have inherited from my ancestors... And so far, I have only learned one form out of four, so I still have a long way to go.

Hasuka was starting to feel embarrassed by the boy's questions, and was struggling to keep the conversation going.

Honestly, I am justglad to get a chance to learn more about the outside world: back in my village, I sacrificed even the most basic education on the things of this world, in favor of both physical and spiritual training to one day take over the role of protector of the shrine... And well, now that the village and the shrine are both lost, I sometimes wonder if it has all been a waste of time: fifteen years of my life were dedicated to acquiring one single skill, which is now completely useless! So yeah, a school like this, with people and subjects and didactic materials from all around the world, is a chance to make up for the lost time. That is all there is to it, as far as I'm concerned.

As for me, I'm just tagging along. I don't exactly have much of a choice, you know.

Kohakuren pointed out.

He smiled and sipped his tea, "I train a lot too, perhaps we could spar together, though I doubt I could stand against someone who's trained their whole life," he was being humble, in truth Aedan was quite skilled.

He listened patiently as she explained her worries, "I understand how you feel to an extent, I was....locked away from the world for two years," he decided it was best not to go into detail. "If you need help with school or anything just ask. I'm sorry for your loss...I know what you're going through, your not alone. And in a city like this your skill could be very useful...keep training, and if you want I'll train with you."

Geez, this guy really is hitting on you, Hasuka... Will this be your first shot at getting a boyfriend?

K-kohakuren!

Hasuka blushed violently. That was the problem with having a spirit stuck with her: she never managed to keep a thought to herself, everything had to be made public, for the world to see. Well, hear, at any rate.

I apologize... Although it's true I am not that good at handling males, or people in general in fact: I am afraid that, even without Kohakuren, this conversation would have started to feel embarrassing by now, maybe we should say goodbye?

This being Hasuka, she of course panicked immediately after saying these words.

O-of course it's not like I'm trying to ditch you or anything, p-please don't take offense! I-it's just that... I really don't know what else to say...
