Hal narrowed his eyes at the girl as she noted about his reaction. He would really at hostile if she had pulled something at him; he didn't think he would be scared since from how he sees things, she looked petty harmless. Minus the possibility of her being some overpowered something.

Hal didn't have a reason to move from where he sat but watched and listened to the girl as she paced about. 'I would never have thought that others would want to be out here at night' she said. He scoffed. "I would say the same thing to you." he said, "I go here to clear my head. That's pretty much just it." he said' trying to be casual.

'Have you ever seen a wolf before?' she asked suddenly. Hal cocked his head to the side to hide the fact that he had just flinched from having to think of getting to see a wolf up close. He already had a cheetah in his face, he didn't want a wolf that close either.

"No and I would prefer not to." He said, keeping his nightmares at bay.

Claire frowned, and tilted her head down. No one had ever refused to see a wolf, let alone say it in such a calm manner. "What? Are you really that scared?" She darted back at him.

"It's not like they would hurt you." She smiled again thinking about how harmless the animals had been when she was younger. "But fine." She turned around with her eyes closed, and quickly looked to the right to see a wolf that had indeed answered her call.

"Just wait a second." She sad to the animal as it went further into the forest. "I go here for everything really, I still love the forest more then the school. I don't like cites really, or a lot of man made stuff. It's sick, but I see why they need it. Plus it's a great place to practice your powers."

Hal barely saw the girl's frown from his peripheral view. All he knew is that he was not looking forward to meeting any more animals that could potentially harm him. 'What? Are you really that scared?' she taunted. Hal let out anther scoff — although this time, it was almost stifled having been caught.

"I'm not scared." he said, rolling his eyes to keep up his act. "Who even said that? I just hate animals." he lied. He chose to glance at the girl after he had said that and immediately regretted doing so when he caught the figure of a wolf from a distance. He felt relief when it turned away.

As she continued to talk, Hal couldn't help but roll his eyes again. Hal didn't much like cities either, but he wouldn't really call it 'sick'. "It's called a civilization with economic progress." he mused aloud, probably just enough for the girl to hear. Hal didn't so much regret actually saying it out loud.

She gave him the chance to talk, to speak his mind, before she got mad at him. She waited patently, until he finally talked. When he did, she was on pleased with the results. Turning towards him, she scowled boldly. She didn't know what exactly was wrong with this guy, but she was going to find out sooner or later. Making her her hands into fists, she waited for him to talk again. He was not on her good side, and that made things at that moment a bit confusing for her.

"You, not scared? I bet you would be if I brought a few wolves up in your face. The you'd be begging that you were lying, am I right?" She smiled at him, letting him know that she would do that if it came to it. This guy was on her last nerve, but for some reason, there was a part of her that still wanted to try to be his friend.

"And you really shouldn't have said you hate animals, especially not around me." She grinned a bit as she put her hands on her hips and at him. She sighed as she tried to look him in the eye. For some reason, she could sense of familiarity from watching him. "Hmm." She said loudly, observing him as he began to talk again.

"I don't care about fancy buildings or money or things in general anyways, maybe that's why I don't like cities." She pondered the statement.

Hal didn't ever want to admit t but the threat would have been enough to actually get him to actually admit he was really afraid. But he was not one who would just take back his own words. He could try to find a way around it, but never would he actually admit how afraid he was.

"This and that are different things." Hal retorted. "If a pack of wolves actually cornered me, then that's really something to worry about. Wolves don't just go cornering random things if they don't have plans for it." he said, matter-of-factly. A wolf lurking around his immediate area was one thing, but a pack was a problem.

'You really shouldn't have said you hate animals.' Hal let out another stifled scoff, partly laughing at himself because he feels like he had just made a wrong move. He managed not to say anything to make it worse.

As she went on about her dislike for cities, he only looked at her before responding, "Then naturally, that's your problem. I don't like cities either. It's too noisy and crowded for comfort, but you don't see me complaining."

Glaring at him, she wondered what his problem was. "Oh you think? I guess you wouldn't believe me if I called a pack of wolves to you then?" She grinned at him. "I will if I have to, trust me." Nodding to herself, she thought about what he had said, but then counteracted his statement. "Well considering I was raised by them, all wolves see me as one of their own, so yes, I guess it would more or less be that right now, you were talking to a part of all wolf packs."

Laughing for a second, she thought about the second thing he had said. "Well maybe you should complain, it's not like I'm going to tell anyone." Pausing, she added something else. "Look, I don't want to fight, not now, so should we just start over, or do you hate me already?" She then tilted her head a fair bit, waiting to see what he would say. She knew that she was acting weird.

As much as Hal didn't want to face it, he knew the fact that he was starting to get frightened. It could have been banter, but he certainly felt threatened knowing this girl could call out a pack of wolves with a snap of a finger. It didn't sit well with him. His bad mood now slowly getting replaced by fear.

Hal opened his mouth to speak but managed to stop himself from making things worse for himself again. He lets out a sigh in defeat. He let her laugh at him. He wasn't really sure what was supposed to be funny but he didn't want to think about it. The more he did, the more he was likely to bring trouble for himself.

'Should we just start over or do you hate me already?' The question rung in his head. "I don't hate you." He responded almost immediately. He thought for a moment before speaking again. "I don't hate anyone." he turned his head towards the girl before looking away just as quickly. She probably wasn't that horrible of a person. Maybe it was just because he didn't greet her properly and he picked a nerve or something.

"I was just in a bad mood. ...Sorry."

Crossing her arms at him as she waited for his response, she gave him a cold look. Was he going to answer in a yes? Or would he not even answer at all. She didn't take his eyes off of him for a second as she waited. As he answered her though, she blinked a few times and lowered her arms slowly to go by her sides. He din't hate her? Why not? She had been disrespectful to her the entire time. Just a bad mood? Was she just in a bad mood too? Was that it. "A, bad mood?" She blinked at him, thinking about what he had said. "You don't hate me? Why not?" She was surprised that he didn't want to punch her, or yell at her. "I'm not a likable person you know."

Hal let the silence settle for a moment. He let his words sink in for her. 'A bad mood?' she echoed. Hal didn't have to say anything else. As far as the truth goes, he overreacted around Shinji by the end of their conversation. What Shinji might have implied irritated him. But mostly, it made Hal upset with himself for acting so angered. He knew he shouldn't have.

'You don't hate me?' She spoke again. 'Why not? I'm not a likeable person, you know.' the girl continued. Hal looked up at her and tried to read her expression. She wasn't pulling his leg. She really did mean it. As if it was an impression she had accepted.

At least it seemed that way to Hal. "On whose standard?" replied Hal. Continuing without hesitation, he added: "I don't take others' opinions. I'm my own judge. " A beat. "And just because you're not likeable, that doesn't mean you're easy to hate."

Looking at him as he replied to her, she blinked quickly. What was he trying to get across to her? That she wasn't that bad? Maybe, though why did he care so much to tell her differently? Smiling a bit at him, she lightly nodded to his replies, seeing that maybe they didn't have to be mean to each other. "I think I was the one that thought myself as unlikable." She nodded to herself as she knew it had been her that started it all. She believed it though, and started to act that way. "I see your point then." She stepped a bit closer to him, making sure that he heard her next words. "I guess your right then."
