Empathy [Karlos]

Adelene listened more and... for some reason... why did it sound like they were so alike? She eyed him for a moment, giving him a confused and curious look, before mumbling "You sound like the old me."

And then she smiled at him and patted his shoulder once. "I felt the same way about companions before. But I made some pretty trustworthy friends in the island so... my opinion changed. You gotta be careful, but don't shun the world away."

He asked about her training and somehow, she looked like her crimson eyes just lit up so bright they sparkled. She jumped a little, clapping her hands together in excitement. "Weapon training! I need to be better at them. Right now, I think I need to focus on blades. Do you wanna come watch me train? Or better yet, why not join me?" She was talking about weapons, but it was fairly strange that she had nothing else with her at the moment.

A smirk crept through the girl's lips. "They're in my pocket," she said, petting her short jeans' pockets which more or less looked empty. A couple of seconds, and Adelene broke into gentle laughter, before leading the way to her usual spot by the forest's mouth. It was up to Sebastian to follow if he really wanted to.

She didn't talk that much on the way, and to avoid awkward attempts and failures of starting a conversation, she kept herself ahead until they were finally there. And then she turned around, revealing her wide grin to Sebastian.

"We're here!" she announced. She held out her right hand sideward, deciding she'd put on a small show for her new acquaintance. Slowly, black crystal dust formed around her hand from thin air, concentrating on her palms before they solidified and took the form of a black .45 caliber pistol. "I summon weapons, and right now, I'm training for endurance because summoning different weapons in a short span of time is really tiring. I'm aiming for that time when I don't have to feel tired anymore if I do stuff like... this."

The pistol turned back to crystals in a poof, and then suddenly became a revolver, then a submachine gun, then a scalpel, then a dagger, then a katana...

And every time she summoned a new weapon, she'd feel heavier and weaker, until the katana couldn't hold its form anymore and poofed into dust and into nothingness automatically. Adelene fell to her knees, panting. Her back pain wasn't helping.

"Uh... yeah... G-Gotta work on that..."

There was a soft sheepish laugh. Adelene didn't think Sebastian would catch her, but it was glad that he did this time. For a moment, she surrendered to his support, unable to do anything but give in to her body wanting to get a little rest.

"Sorry, can you help me to that rock?" she pointed to the rock beside them. It was a little triangular, and it was large enough to support her back. She didn't want to burden a new acquaintance, after all. "You know the feeling of running for three miles without rest and you just wanna lay down and never move again? That's... haha... that's what it feels like right now. I'm sorry, Sebby."

Oops. She didn't mean it. She didn't mean to give him that nickname. 'Sebby' sounded adorable though. If Sebastian won't mind, and if he decides to stick around, she won't hesitate calling him that from now on.

"Ah, my power isn't as crazy as you make it sound like... Summoning weapons is hard as hell, you know. You looked more amazing a while ago when I saw you..."
