Name: Elizabeth Waryn
Nicknames: Liz, Lizzy, Elle
Age: 16
Birthday: July 21
Gender: Female; she, her, etc.
Species: Human (mage)
Category: Student
Class: High School
Grade: 10th grade
Appearance Description:
Elizabeth's skin is light pale to a disturbingly unhealthy color, mostly because she is actually pretty sickly. She is thin and short and she looks fragile, but her jade eyes carry all life and energy that she'd ever need. Her hair is blond and short with a few locks here and there longer than the rest.
Ever since being exposed to modernity, Elizabeth's found herself fascinated by cute clothes with bright colors. She prefers dresses to pants, and likes them better frilly. She likes to wear hats as well, or just to decorate her hair with ribbons, bands, beads, feathers, etc. although she likes her hair plain, too. She still has her 14th century type of robes and clothes and she still wears them often.
Personality Description:
Elizabeth is bubbly and cheerful, but that sometimes leads to careless mistakes. She believes that she must seize every opportunity, because nobody would ever know when her life will end. She is friendly and approachable, and because she is a healer mage she is used to putting on a smile whether or not this smile is real. When lonely, Elizabeth usually goes out and walks around to enjoy the environment. She is naturally helpful, almost to an awkward/embarrassing extent, and she usually doesn't care if helping others puts her in a bad spot. She is a bit of a blockhead and can sometimes be pretty dense or oblivious.
She considers nature as her friend and always thanks it for its help. She loves animals especially cute little ones and birds. They don't always like her back, though.
Species Abilities: Any abilities possible to the mortal man
Powers:
Elizabeth is a type of mage that harvests or harnesses mana and energy from the earth (ground, water, air, plants, animals) in order to create magic spells. In other words, if she harvests mana from a living creature, this creature would most likely die or wilt due to lack of energy, and she'd use their mana to create something else. Elizabeth uses the side effects of this magic as her offensive move. However, harvesting mana without using them may cause unwanted damage to other things around her if she disposes the harvested mana carelessly.
She can also harvest from humans and other special creatures with souls, but never enough to kill them or weaken them gravely. For mana users, souls are energy sources that cannot be drained.
Harvesting mana is tiring, similar to exerting physical effort, like lifting objects or running. The more mana is harvested, the more effort she exerts, the more exhausted she becomes. She can only do so through direct contact, but clothes and armors and other thin body protections do not disable her ability.
She can use different spells with this magic:
1. Drain - the act of harvesting mana itself, as already mentioned, when used offensively. She can kill animals, plants, or drain the life out of a patch of land or a body of water through this, by exerting a certain amount of effort. She cannot damage creatures with souls as badly, however. The worst she can do to creatures such as humans would be to make them experience fatigue or hunger.
2. Healing - she can heal internal and external injuries by transferring mana from the earth and giving it to the damaged body to increase its healing rate. However, the mana required for healing is directly proportional to the energy lost by the damaged body. A small wound may need a leaf's worth of mana, while a stab wound would need a whole tree or more, depending on how deep it is. Killing all virus for common cold is about a tree's worth of mana, while deadly illness like cancer may need an entire farm/village/animal herd/etc. She can only use her healing magic when she is not doing anything else, especially battle. She can heal herself, but she cannot bring the dead back to life.
3. Shield - Elizabeth takes mana from the air or ground and turn them into materials that can shield her from damage. She can only cast a full sphere of shield with a diameter the same as her height, but if she wants the shield to cover a larger area, she may choose to cast a flat shield but it can only be cast at one direction at a time. Just like healing magic, the bigger the shield is, the more mana is required, the easier it is for Elizabeth to exhaust herself.
4. Destruct - raw harvested mana is dangerous. So she may choose to use this as a weapon of some sort by throwing the raw mana towards an intended target. Direct hit causes physical injuries, with the amount of mana directly proportional to the size of affected area. If not handled well, it is highly possible for her magic to backfire.
There are many more kinds of magic that can be created with mana, but Elizabeth has unfortunately not learned anything else. With training, she may be able to learn more.
Biography:
Like her cousin Roland, Elizabeth was born in Avalon. She was born with a weak and sickly body, but her parents, also mana users, created a magical silver cuff that automatically harvests tiny bits of mana from her surroundings and automatically heals her. This enabled her to grow up as a normal girl with normal physique. Knowing the wonders of mana and healing magic, Elizabeth strived to be like her parents.
She had only completed her training as a healer when her parents were killed by unknown perpetrators. It was suspected among her immediate community that some mages were probably after mana users, so they sent her somewhere far away-- Manta Carlos to be exact, since they were aware that she would have her cousin there at least, and she wouldn't have to be completely alone.
Additional Information:
1. The silver cuff around Elizabeth's right wrist helps her function normally, but it doesn't heal her when she is damaged or exhausted. She is still as vulnerable to sickness as any normal person. But if she the cuff is ever removed, she will return to her fragile state. She also won't be able to use the more complicated abilities of her magic without this, because harvesting mana is extremely tiring. The cuff is her parents' masterpiece and she is too inexperienced to recreate their work.
2. Just like her cousin, Elizabeth is still adjusting to modern technology.
