The woman flashed a grateful smile as she dipped her hands hesitantly into the basin. Finding it cool, she allowed her hands to sink to the bottom. She murmured something as she released the runes. They sank, and she sighed. Her fingers began to caress the surface area of the water; she was drawing runes, though imaginary, in the water.
When she completed her runes, the water began to glow a soft red color and she grinned. "Show me... What happened. Show me Mordunr." As she spoke, the water began to display images; a sequence of events.
First came the King, her father. He held an infant Nimueh and spoke to someone out of frame. "You will be her protector. Her advisor. I did not sell my soul to you for nothing." Another voice answered, "Of course, sire. I will serve her with pride." The scene ends with the King laughing.
It changes. The child is staring at the deceased body of her father, tears tainting her pale skin. "Bring him back, Mordunr! Bring him back!" The man in question stepped into frame to settle beside of the child. He whispered, "If I could, Princess, I would. But death cannot be undone. Necromancy is the devil's work." The scene changed with the man, who looked a lot like Kamren, being hit and shoved by this tiny little Princess.
As it changed, she averted her gaze. This scene was a young, teenaged Nimueh and her advisor, Mordunr. Nimueh rested in the man's lap, giggling idly. "I become Queen today, Mordunr." The man chuckled and swept her dark locks behind her ear. "I am well aware, Nimueh." She gazed upward and grinned bashfully. "Sorry. I should not state the obvious. I will not let you leave me, you know." The younger Nimueh curled her hands around Mordunr's, pressing her lips to his darker toned hands. "You are mine."
The scene changes at that point. An army of the dead; that young woman sitting on the edge of the bathtub was in the center of the mess. She was shouting incantations. Mordunr was close; sword in hand. "My Queen! We must retreat." He had glanced over and saw the blood running from the woman's nose; she was overexerting herself. She was close to death. Mordunr fought his way to the woman and claimed her by her small little waist, throwing her across his shoulder, he started toward the crypt - the citadel in which she had been found.
The scene changed. Nimueh was unconscious. This is when the woman starts to watch again. Mordunr was cleaning the blood from her face. Such a large man was so gentle. He leaned to press a kiss to her lips and whisper, "My Queen. I am sealing you in here, until it opens. You will be asleep; until my presence awakens you." The man caressed the woman's cheek as he stood.
The scene changed and Mordunr was facing an army - a man in gold armor, welding Excalibur. King Arthur. "The Queen of the Dead has given her life for her Kingdom. She is no threat to you." Mordunr spoke the words effortlessly. A deal was exchanged, Mordunr went to work for Arthur. Until his death by poison.
Nimueh watched the events fade; her fingers brushing through her hair. "That... Was Mordunr."
