Theron landed in his dragon form, his tail clipping the base of a tree though he didn't notice it. He needed a distraction, a training session to clear his mind.

He shifted down to his human form and stretched, he had changed a lot sense he arrived on the island, he'd lost the clumsiness he was known for, and had put on muscel on top of the muscle his super strength naturally granted.

Unfortunately not everything had gone well, things with his girlfriend ended, hence his need for a distraction. He had come to this clearing often, had targets set up for his elemental blast.

So he began, first fire, the ice and then lightning. He worked throught them, hitting the targets, it was a good distraction, he didn't like causing destruction but he liked the control he'd developed sense arriving.

He stopped and stood breathing heavy for minute, a bit of sweat forming in his brow, he heard a shard crack and the sound sound of tumbling wood. He had heard before, he instinctively rolled to the side as the tree landed where he had been standing.

It was the tree he had clipped while, he sighed, his forehead bleeding from a piece of bark that had hit him. He stood up, this wasn't the kind of distraction he'd been looking for.

Faye had always been the curious type, but knowing her boundaries was what separated her from other curious people. She badly wanted to know what was beyond her planet, but knew she couldn't go that far...becasue of her powers. That's the reason why she's in Manta Carlos; that's the reason why Starlight Academy took her in. Because she was different.

But today, Faye wanted to break her boundaries a bit, and decided to go exploring in the woods. It had a very fairy tale like mood to it that made Faye feel refreshed, as she emerged deeper through the thick trees. Bright colors of green and blue gave life to the forest, as tiny grass blades brushed Faye's toes as she strolled along. It was almost as if she was painting a picture with every step she took.

The outdoors always made Faye feel at home. Something about nature and the calm breeze that swayed the trees made Faye feel...happy. She could feel all her worries just disappear into thin air.

But as Faye grew deeper into the woods, a dirt path appeared beneath her and looking up, she eyed a boy, standing beside what seemed to be a fallen tree. The brown haired boy stood in a startled position with his hand covering his forehead. Faye's eyesight was somewhat normal, but what Faye spotted to be under his hand was blood dripping to his eyebrows. She stood still mesmerized and panicked on what to do.

He was clearly hurt and looked a little flustered. Was he hit by the tree? Did it fall on him? Faye bit her lip and fiddled her thumbs. Being a shy person was what Faye hated about herself the most. It mostly prevented her from talking to people and cowarding away from dangerous situations. But now, here was a boy that looked injured and maybe could use her help. So Faye decided to approach him. She walked over slowly, as quite as a deer.

"Oh my, erm...are you alright? I just saw you and just wanted to know if you're okay." Faye gave a half smile to show friendliness, but it wasn't noticeable as she glanced at the fallen tree after she spoke.

He looked over as he heard a voice, it was a girl, with pink hair, around his age, maybe a bit older. He tilted his head and then smiled, "yea I'm all right, must of clipped the tree when I flew in."

He chuckled, "shoulda been more careful," he wipped a bit of blood from his eyes, "came down to train some, this wasn't what I expected."

Despite his depression he was happy to be meeting someone new, "I hope tree didn't startle you." He leaned against the fallen tree, "luckily I'm pretty tough." Dragons were natural durable creatures, "my name is Theron."

..when I flew in..

Faye wondered what that meant and got an idea of what his powers might've been. Maybe he had wings or had the ability to fly.

Or maybe..he was a shapeshifter, just like her.

Faye decided to keep that mystery to herself, as everyone had their secrets.

Introduced as Theron, Theron came out here to train--whatever kind of training that might be--out in the woods by himself. Faye appreciated that since it probably meant that he enjoyed the outdoors as well, or enjoyed being in his own space. "Oh I see....well I'm sorry that this wasn't what you expected. It must've....hurt." No duh it did. Faye looked to the ground and crossed her legs together, embarrassed as to what she just said.

From the way he spoke, Theron seemed happy and relaxed, leaning against the tree that had just injured him. Faye gave a small giggle, kicking at the ground awkwardly. She found that funny. "Oh no don't worry about me hehe, I'm fine. Um..well it's nice to meet you Theron, I'm Faye!" As she said this, she extended out her right hand and showed a small smile.

Faye rarely made eye contact with random strangers, but for the first time in forever, she made eye contact with Theron. He had calm green eyes that complimented the trees that surrounded them. She felt comfortable to look into such pretty eyes. It was...nice.

He chuckled and wipped a bit more blood away and ignored the pain, "just a bit," he tilted his head and chuckled again, "luckily I'm pretty thick headed." Theron had a sense of humor and tended to be a little thick reckless, it often surprised people.

"I came out here to practice my elements, " he gestured to the singed abd frozen targets, similar to what archers used. "I live a short way from here," he lived in a dragon lair with his mentor.

He smiled as she introduced herself, "its good to meet you Fae," he shook her hand, "you have a nice name." He was calm, not at all nervous, he looked into her eyes, a micure of blue and pink, unlike any he had seen, "your eyes.....there...beautiful."

Faye's cheeks turned bright red and she turned speechless for a while. Here was a boy that she had just met; that she had just disturbed practicing his elements...

...and he took the time to notice her eyes.

"Oh, th-thank you hehe." Faye laughed awkwardly, trying not to show she was gushing over the complement. "I quite like your eyes and name too, Theron." At this point, Faye was grinning like an idiot, and couldn't help it. Something about Theron made her heart beat faster and louder. She was amazed at how calm he was acting, while she felt over-joyed.

After a few moments after Faye finally came back to her senses, she realized she was still holding onto Theron's hand. She let go of his hand swiftly and placed it in her other hand behind her back. "Oh my, I'm sorry! I didn't realize I was um...still shaking--or erm, holding your hand." Faye was an all time natural at making any situation awkward. If she had a dollar for every time she acted awkward, she would be a millionaire.

Desperate to change the subject, she began to ask about his powers. "I'm uh, sorry that I'm disturbing your training right now, but um...I just wanted to know... what elements can you wield?"

His smile widened as she complimented his eyes and name, that was a first, "thank you." It felt good, being complimented, his depression was already lifting a bit. He kept smiling as she apologized for holding his hand, "its fine."

He grinned, "well you see, I'm elemental dragon." He tore a strip from his shirt and tied it around his head, "I have fire, ice and lightning." It was unusual for a dragon to have multiple elements, even his mentor as ancient as he is had never seen it before.

He held out his hand to her and formed a small ice wolf in the palm of his hand, "there all cool, ice is fun." He offered the wolf statue to her, "its cold out, so it'll last a while."

When Theron told Faye that he was a dragon, she was surprised. This meant that Theron was a shapeshifter, just as she thought. And not only was he a shapeshifter, but a wielder of fire, ice, and lightning. That boy kept surprising Faye every second.

What surprised her even more, was when Theron crafted a tiny wolf statue made of ice, right in front of her. Faye's eyes widened, as she never knew that that was even possible. The small figurine had every small detail a wolf would have in real life. The ears were shaped perfectly, and the smooth tail stuck out gracefully from the body. The wolf gleamed and sparkled in the winter air, making it look like it was made of diamond. It looked magical.

Faye's cheeks flushed into a warm pink as Theron offered the statue to her. "For me? Really? Wow...it's beautiful. Thank you." Faye had never received that much kindness from a total stranger in a while. Normally, people would have pushed her away or made fun of her kid-like curiosity. But Theron never did either, which seemed odd to Faye, but she was grateful. She delicately took the statue from Theron's hands, handling it as if it were to fly away.

"So, you're a dragon. That would explain the fallen tree" Faye gave a small laugh at the thought of Theron clipping that humongous tree, but then quickly remembered he got hurt and stopped herself from laughing. Looking up at the sky, Faye noticed that the sun was slowly making it's way to the ground. The air grew colder and the color of the trees faded darker. "Oh my, I'm sorry. I've been chatting with you for a long time that I didn't realize I was distracting your training. I could leave if you want." Faye pointed towards the direction where she came from and smiled politely.

He smiled softly as she thanked him for the wolf, the pain from the breakup was still fresh, but talking to this girl was cheering him up. "You're welcome Faye."

He laughed along with her despite his injury, "yea, seems I need to be more careful when landing." He shook his head, his calm smile never leaving, "you're fine," he looked to the fallen tree and chuckled, "I think I'm done for the day."

He sat on the fallen tree and tightened the makeshift bandages on his head, "I think I got a decent workout today," he said chuckling. "I do this once a day, one session getting cut short wont hurt anything."

"Ok." That was all that Faye could say after Theron said she didn't have to leave. Theron was acting so kindly to her, despite they were total strangers. But now, Faye felt a tight friendship building upon them. All Faye had to say was ok, and that was the seal to their bond.

Faye kicked at the ground once more and looked up at Theron who was sitting on the tree adjusting his bandages. Although Faye didn't know much about him, she knew that Theron was a good person. She walked over to Theron and boosted herself up the fallen tree, sitting beside him. "Wow, you must really care about your powers if you train that much. That's so inspiring!" Faye smiled and breathed out in the cold air, making her look like she was breathing smoke.

They sat in silence for a while, Faye looking up at that sky from time to time until she thought of a question. "Hey, are you actually ok?" When she asked this, Faye was inquiring about his head injury. But when the words came out, it sounded as if she was concerned about him in general. "Oh sorry, that came out wrong. I meant your head injury." Faye started twirling a strand of her hair on her hand.
