"Second shop after the exotic flower shop... " Natasha repeated to herself as she walked up the street, glancing down at the instructions, trying to find the local magical book and artifacts shop that her vampire friend, Leandro, had recommended to her. Nat was generally inept at finding addresses, and so Leandro had given her a series of landmarks to find along the way. Strangely enough, it seemed to be helping.

Passing a shop with cut flowers and potted plants sitting in planters outside the door. Natasha started to finally feel confident that she was on the right track. And after passing by a rather non-descriptive facade with a "For Sale" sign in the window, she came face to face with what appeared to be a shop that sold books and other magical odds and ends.

"I found it all by myself!" she cried happily as she looked around her to make sure this was the right place. Yes, flower shop over there, book shop in front, success! Feeling elated, Natasha pushed her way into the magic shop, very happy she had found her way there and hadn't got lost, not even once.

"Whoa!" Nat said in stunned surprise as she entered... The shop was bloody huge! And it was quite literally filled to the ceiling with books, there were also countless rows of talismans, amulets, crystals, tarot cards and other fortune telling or magic related devices, and near the back of the shop, were glass display cases with potions and magical powders that you could purchase.

Astraea led her twin downtown, as much as one could lead another without knowing where anything was. She wanted to know more about this strange city that they had been taken to, and to possibly make friends. She knew her brother would never let her wander around alone, so she told him to come with.

Conal nervously followed his sister. He feared an attack from every shadowy alley and from every stranger they passed, and being new here meant everyone was a stranger. The air around him was a couple degrees warmer than the outside chill as a result of his nerves.

Let's try this shop. It looks interesting and maybe there won't be anyone in here so we can get your anxiety down. Astraea thought to her twin. She didn't wait for a response before going into what looked to be a metaphysics store. She turned to face her brother as she continued to walk in, wanting to make sure he was still following her.

Strae look out. Conal thought to his twin.

Why? She thought back right as she walked into someone that was appearently standing near the doorway. "I'm so sorry." she said quickly, backing up a step. "I should have been looking where I was going. I really didn't mean to bump into you." Panic filled her voice and the air within a three foot diameter dropped in temperature by a couple degrees causing her to panic more.

Conal put a hand on his sisters shoulder, hoping to calm her down a bit, while trying to reign his own fear in.

Standing there in stunned awe, just taking everything around her in, Natasha did not realise that she was, basically, blocking the entrance to the shop. It wasn't until, she felt somebody jostle her from behind, that she quickly realised this. Goodness, how embarrassing, she thought to herself as Natasha quickly stepped forward and then moved to the side to let the two people in. "Sorry, about that." she started, and then stopped as a pretty young redheaded girl, also started nervously apologizing as if she had done something wrong - when it was Natasha's silly daydreaming that had caused it all.

"Nope," Natasha held her hand up to stop the girl from saying anything else, "It's not your fault. It was mine. I was standing there blocking the door, staring at everything like a hungry man at a buffet, not sure whether to have the chicken or the ham or both. So please, do not apologise." Natasha said with a friendly smile as she tried to reassure the young girl.

"And come in please, don't let me stand in your way." she added, shivering very slightly at the strange and abrupt temperature change, gesturing for them to both come into the shop, noticing now that the other person must be her brother, possibly a twin.

Breathe sis. It's going to be okay. She doesn't seem upset or anything. Just breathe. Conal thought to his twin, while cautiously watching the stranger.

Astraea closed her eyes and took a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm herself down. The temperature gradually returned to normal. She and her twin sheepishly finished coming into the store. "I'm Astraea. And this is my twin brother, Conal." She looked around and her jaw dropped slightly. "Wow...this place is...This is probably the biggest metaphysics store I have ever seen."

Great, now you will never leave. Conal thought to his twin.

Astraea playfully pushed her brother without looking at him.

Natasha smiled in greeting as both twins stepped from the entrance into the store. "Nice to meet you Astraea and Conal, I'm Natasha, or Nat, whichever you prefer." she said as the walked past her.

"It's something else, isn't?" Natasha remarked with a chuckle when she saw Astraea's reaction to shop and everything in it. "I'm glad I'm not the only one that's in awe of it." she stated as she walked a few feet to a rather large display of coloured crystals of all sizes, types and shapes. "I came here because a friend recommended it to me." Natasha explained as she picked of a blue quartz crystal.

"Are you interested in magical items or books?" Natasha asked Astraea and her brother, who seemed not as impressed as his sister was with the shop.

Astraea smiled when Natasha mentioned that she was also in awe of the shop. "I'm not sure what I'm interested in yet. Books I guess...maybe tarot cards, if I can find a deck that feels right. Not that I'm even sure what right feels like. I just know I have been told when getting such things it needs to feel right. And I'm rambling, I'm sorry."

Conal mentally chuckled a bit at his twin's rambling, and a hint of a smile crossed his face. He took a calming breath before saying, "Don't mind Strae, she tends to ramble when excited." or nervous He made sure that last bit was only said mentally.

"Oh, I totally understand that." Natasha said with a quick nod of her head, "It's said that magical items often choose their owners. I have a deck of Tarot cards that I was immediately drawn to at a fair once, and it has rarely failed me when I do readings." Natasha remarked agreeing with Astraea. She totally knew what she meant about the right feel.

"No, please. It's fine. We all ramble at times. Especially if we are interested in a certain topic." Nat said waving away Astraea's apology.

Both twins smiled when Astraea wasn't made fun of for her rambling. Most people that they had met hadn't understood her interest in metaphysics.

"Is there anything in particular you are looking for here? And how knowledgeable are you on such things?" Asked Astraea timidly.

"If you aren't up to being a mentor, you should say something now. Otherwise my sister may have a hundred questions for you about this stuff. She's never found anyone to explain this stuff to her except...well that doesn't matter." Conal spoke up. He looked down a bit, ashamed that he had almost mentioned their mother to a complete stranger.

"Hmm...let's see, I am a rather big fan of ancient magic and the history of magic itself." Natasha said after briefly considering Astraea's question. "I am also trying to find out a little more about vampires too."

"I was told this place might have something that could interest me. What my friend didn't say is that it might take all day to find it." she said as she glanced around them at all the books everywhere. Then,

"I am pretty knowledgeable, certainly not an expert or anything, but I have been studying magic for about a hundred or so years." she said, thinking that yeah, it was about a hundred years or so ago that she started taking her investigations and studies more seriously.

"Why? Is there something I can maybe help you with?" she asked as she glanced curiously at Astaea and then her brother, Conal. "

Astraea looked down, unsure of what to say.

Conal gave a half shrug. "My sister has been wanting to learn tarot better. She's tried..." What is it called?

"The Rider Waite deck. It was our mother's. I can't make any sense of it even with a guide book."

Conal thought for a moment before saying, "We also could probably stand to learn more about elemental magic, especially fire, heat, water and ice."

"But only if you know about that sort of thing and don't mind sharing your knowledge. We don't want to be a bother or anything." Astraea added in a rush.
