Personality Description: He is quiet. He has heard horror stories of the witch trials in Ireland and Europe and has trouble trusting people that aren’t his twin sister. He is protective of his sister, and is usually at her side or in the shadows (doing tech work while she performs on stage). He is easily startled, especially when focusing on things.
Active Powers:
Ability to speak words of power in an ancient language (Latin, or Ancient Egyptian) and manifest results.The healing and destruction spells can have double strength when the twins hold hands and cast in tandem.
Fire/Heat Elementalist
Conjure/Manipulate Fire and Heat: He can start a cooking fire and/or use his personal store of energy to manipulate the size or heat of the flame. He can also manipulate the temperature of a room. If the room is 20’ by 20’ it only takes a small amount of energy to modify the temperature by 10 degrees F. If he were to modify it more than that or try and heat a bigger space he would need 30 minutes rest per degree over that or per 5 square feet extra. Maintaining the new temperature requires half of his attention. A 20’ by 20’ room can be maintained for two hours before it starts showing that it is tiring him. After two hours he needs a half hour rest for every 10 minutes he goes over. The longest he can maintain a temperature in that size room before passing out is 5 and a half hours.
Passive Powers
He has a telepathic/empathic bond with his twin. So long as they are within a 10 mile radius of each other, they can hear and feel each others thoughts and emotions. He doesn't share that sort of connection with anyone else, nor is he able to concentrate to hear other people's thoughts or emotions.
Fire/Heat Healing: When he is drained, or sick, resting near a lit flame helps his body heal faster. If he would need to rest for 3 hours, being close to fire or in a hot enough room would make him need only 2 hours rest instead. Because of this and his ability to manipulate fire, only white-hot or hotter (if such flames exist) flames hurt him. He cannot currently use fire/heat to heal others.
When he is feeling intense emotions the air in a 10’ radius around him heats up up to the 10 degrees during extremely stressful/intense times.
Weaknesses
Cold: Cold weather, cold water (not usually when drunk, but other forms of contact), and the like tire Conal out quickly. Extended exposure without proper gear (like many layers when outside in cold weather) does make him sick. The fastest cure when he gets sick like that is resting near a lit fireplace or medium flame. Using water or ice related words/phrases of power also drain him quickly, as mentioned above.
Biography: Conal and his twin sister Astraea were born in the United States to magical parents. They were raised hearing stories of the witch trials in Ireland and Europe and with the fear that history will repeat itself. They went through grade school trying to hide their magic from their classmates and teachers. Conal was terrified when their secret was seen by a teacher their senior year of high school. They were having lunch in her classroom and his sister was reading a book. He felt her thought of <I bet this isn't a real spell> right before she read a word of power from her book and shattered a desk. Conal had been sitting next to his twin when she cast the spell, and managed to catch her before she slumped to the floor. Their teacher, after jumping at the sudden destruction of property, quickly closed her door and proceeded to do something to return Astraea back to consciousness. She then told the twins about a place called Starlight Academy were they could potentially hone their abilities without fear of persecution. She offered to take them there directly. As it was close to graduation, the twins agreed to go after graduating.
Resources: Conal and his twin share a dorm. They have some money left over from doing odd jobs while in High School before coming to the island. They work together part time to have a bit extra spending money.

- Heal/Mend: using a word or phrase of power he can heal someone that is injured or repair an object that is damaged. The more severe the damage, the longer he must apply focus and the more energy he would use. Healing a few cuts or scrapes isn't tiring. Using this spell on someone with life-threatening injuries, he would likely only be able to stabilize them before passing out for 18-24 hours.
- Break/shatter/apart: using a word or phrase of power he can break something or take apart something built. He tends to use this to take apart set pieces during strike (the time after a play when the set is taken down and props and costumes returned to their proper places). The more complex the item in question, the more energy it uses. A metal set piece with multiple parts would require an hour or two of rest before attempting more magic (using magic again without the rest runs the risk of getting dizzy or passing out depending on the power of the new spell), using the same spell on a wooden set piece with an equal amount of parts would only require a half hour break, and could potentially be done twice nearly in a row (though he then needs that two hours of rest that is needed for one complex metal set piece). This spell can potentially be used to break someone's arm or leg (or any bone), though he would only do that if being attacked or if his sister is being attacked.
- Water/Ice: using a word or phrase of power, he can manipulate water in any of its states. Water/Ice magic drains him greatly. If his sister has a fever, he might either conjure an ice cube or conjure cold water onto a rag to cool her down. After doing so, he would need to sit down for a few minutes to keep from getting dizzy. Filling Astraea’s 30 oz water bottle magically requires at least a half hour rest before doing anything else magical or not.
