Wednesday wasn’t expecting to receive a call from Monday that afternoon as she left school. Things had been relatively quiet for the coven lately, and Wednesday had been too busy burying herself in her research to think much of it.

But it sounded like whatever Monday wanted to talk about was important, and as a member of the coven, she was always willing to make time for the others. The research could be put on hold for an afternoon. So she waited in the apartment above Saturday’s mechanic shop, the older witch she was living with had some errands to run, leaving her alone with her cat while she waited for Monday.

It had been a weird couple of days. Candle's recent revelation about her master's existence and his disbanded cult (hopefully) had left him somewhat uneasy. The idea that more manuscripts could be out there bothered him more than he would admit. And after a few days of growing unease, he decided that he needed to talk to somebody - somebody that had the same interest in magical tomes as he did.

Arriving at Saturday's shop on time, Monday rang the door bell as he waited patiently for Wednesday to let him in.

After a few moments the door opened for Monday, and the younger witch was there to greet him, already changed out of her uniform into a comfortable shirt and trousers.

“Hey, Monday.” She greeted him with a smile, opening the door wide to let him into the shop. “Come on in, door to the apartment is through here.”

Wednesday nodded her head to the stairs near the back, past all the machines and other work tools, that lead up to the apartment, heading back towards it and gesturing for him to follow.

“So um, I got coffee brewing if you want some?” She asked, awkwardly, evidently a little unused to playing the host.

When Wednesday opened the door, Monday slipped into the shop which smelled slightly of oil and grease, a typical and somewhat comforting smell that Monday always attributed to Saturday's garage.

"Thanks and coffee would be great," Monday said as he headed to the back of the shop and then followed Wednesday up to the apartment she shared with Saturday.

"How's Saturday, and Mr. Frodo?" he asked the younger witch as he entered the apartment and looked around, not sure if he should go to the living room or to the kitchen.

"Saturday's been alright," She said as she led him inside, heading over to the kitchen to grab the coffee pot. "I um, try to stay out of his way mostly, but...I think we both kind of appreciate not having to live by ourselves."

She absently rubbed one of her arms as she spoke. It had taken her a little while to get used to the older witch, at first he'd been quite intimidating to her. But as time went on she'd grown more comfortable.

"As for Frodo, well," She gestured her head to the living room, where Frodo, he would notice was asleep on one of the couches, purring softly to himself, looking comfortable. Wednesday poured two mugs, one for herself and the other for Monday. She passed him one, before moving over to the couch next to her cat, crossing both legs as she sat down and absently scratching behind her familiar's ears.

"How about you? Um, have things been good with Gany and Candle?"

¨That's good to hear. I know Saturday can seem a bit hard around the edges," Monday said thanking Wednesday for the coffee with a nod," but once you get to know him, he's probably the most loyal friend you'll ever have," he added. Saturday was probably one of the witches he was closest to, and would count him as a good friend.

Glancing at Mr. Frodo as Monday took a seat across from Wednesday, he had to grin at how sweet he looked.

"Both are well, Gany is adjusting better than I hoped to everything, and Candle, well, she's kinda the reason I wanted to see you," Monday admitted as he took a sip of his coffee before continuing.

"I know you like to collect old book and manuscripts," he began, "And I was wondering if you might have ever heard of somebody called Grostman?"

"Grostman?" She tilted her head to the side, eyebrow raised, leaving Frodo alone for a moment to hold the mug with both hands, savouring the warmth while she thought about it. "Possibly, I'd need to look through my collection again. I um...brought a lot of books with me when I came here."

She almost winced a little, afraid she might sound like she's bragging about it. But in reality her family had built their collection up over many years, she was just the one to inherit it.

"Why? What's this about?"

Monday was quiet for a second as he considered how to best answer Wednesday's question. "Grostman is the person who summoned Candle and enslaved her. He was a dark wizard, necromancer perhaps?" Monday explained.

"I had one of his books come into the shop the other day, and it set Candle off... and badly," he said with a grimace as he remembered her heated reaction.

Wednesday tilted her head to the side as she listened, brow furrowed in concern. She would be lying if she said she liked Candle, she thought the elemental was just a bit intimidating (even if her attire made them hard to take seriously). But she could understand that they would be upset about the name of someone who'd enslaved them.

"I see...what was in the book?" She asked, curious.

"To be honest, I am not 100% sure what is in the book. I haven't had time to sit down and decipher all of it properly. But the parts I could make out, well, they seem like the spells are of dark nature and probably quite dangerous," Monday said with a small frown as he ran a hand through his hair.

"Candle wanted to incinerate it, but I stopped her before she could..." he also told Wednesday. "You never know what type of protection spells are on such objects," he added as images of curses being unlocked or spells bouncing back on the spellcaster came to mind and made him shiver involuntarily.
