Deith prepared himself for the worst. He already thought of solutions he could do in case Lei freaks out after seeing the body and tries to run away. In a matter of split-seconds he was prepared, but when Lei simply broke down and cried, Deith was stuck looking down at him with a blank stare.

All emotions but his need for Lei to stay shut down.

"Lei," he called softly, kneeling down in front of his sweetheart in attempt to look at his face and convince him not to be afraid. He put a bloodstained hand over Lei's shoulder, his grip just a little more forceful than he thought. Because he wasn't going to take any chances of Lei getting away.

"I love you, Lei," he said. He wanted Lei to know and remember that. "I love you and you're the most important person to me... So... How about we forget about this, let's go inside and clean up, so we can go get some... some human food. You haven't met Fluffy, have you? You'll love him." His grip tightened. And he was starting to stand up and pull Lei with him. "Let's go. We haven't even spent time with each other yet."

Everything stunk. The body's stench made his eyes water with how disgusting it was. As Lei looked up to Deith's looming figure, he stopped seeing the face of his prince charming and, instead, saw an absolute parody of it with his body painted red all over. Funny how an hour ago, Lei wanted Deith to hold him for hours and feel safe. Now, his heart was filled with nothing but fear.

Where had his courage gone? Earlier, he was fighting a cheater; now, he was fighting a monster, and that concept alone rendered him weak.

Lei was easily pulled up, partly because he weighed almost nothing, partly because he was too weak to fight. The grip on his power wavered and ultimately died down. His eyes dampened into a somber gray color. He couldn't see the water, at least not beyond this overwhelming fear that chilled his bones.

Still, he struggled and tried to step away, weakly, against Deith's grip. His eyes began to water. His mouth made weak squeaking sounds.

"H-how many people have you killed? How many of their corpses have you fucked? Can you still even count them?" Lei's foot slipped and he fell backward, threatening to fall on the ground. "Is this what you do? You lure unsuspecting High Schoolers with your pretty face, gore them and rape their corpses? Am I next on your list??"

"No." Deith looked over his shoulder. His eyes pierced through Lei's, for a moment looking like he was angry Lei would think that way about him. He made him sound so... so horrifying. But then again that was probably what he deserved. He was a monster, after all. And realizing that, his eyes softened again and his hand slid down to Lei's to hold him there.

"I guess I'll tell you, since there's no way I can hide this anymore." He stopped walking and faced Lei, but he didn't let him go. "I never got to step into college. My life was already fucked up even before that. I was labelled a serial killer when I was eighteen. They found me out after fourteen victims. The last one was my girlfriend. The little sister of the policeman who caught me and got me sent to uh... an 'asylum for the criminally insane'."

He hated recalling those moments, but it wasn't like he ever forgot. Everything was crystal-clear even after so many decades. "Back then, I didn't think killing was wrong. Everyone ended up leaving me even before... even before I got messed up. I killed people so they won't leave me behind, so they can stay with me until I can't recognize them anymore."

He chuckled. The look on his face was getting worse. Wide, angry, yet pained and lonely eyes; a wide grin that looked more maniac than anything else.

"I got better in that asylum. I met someone who helped me get better and loved me even though he knew my sins. He looks like you, Lei." Deith stroked Lei's hair affectionately. He could see Lei clearly, but he could see Haku, too. "But he died. I killed myself to follow him. But I was cursed to live again and live forever as a demon. And I have to feed the way I killed people when I was still mortal.

"But you're not in this list." He pulled Lei close, kissing his forehead. "If you were, I wouldn't have spent all those months being so sweet and gentle for you. At first I saw Haku in you but... you're very easy to love, Lei. I got attached so fast. I don't want to lose you, ever." Even closer now, so Deith can wrap his arms around him. "Lei," he whispered, "you'll stay, right? Right?"

Had Lei been a more sympathizing man, he would see the underlying sadness behind Deith's story that drove him to do what he did. But Lei was a man of justice. Sadness, loneliness, abandonment? Get in line, buddy. Lei had lived his entire life sad, lonely and constantly abandoned, and yet everyday, he aspired to be the best person he could be.

You weren't labelled a serial killer. You are a serial killer. Lei looked at his angry eyes and manic grin, and he only saw a monster.

"So this... was what you were hiding from me?" Lei's tears wouldn't stop falling. His throat burned. His stomach felt like there was a storm raging inside of it. His hands were trying to pry Deith's away from him, but he was too weak, too done with this all. Everything fell into place in the worst, most broken way — the shitty jokes, the secretiveness, the rampant jealousy. Red flags were only obvious in retrospect, huh.

Even if Deith meant those words, what's to stop him from changing his mind later on? And even if Lei went through with it... How could he ever forget this image of a forceful, bloodstained Deith out of his head?

"R-real talk..." Lei's words trembled. He swallowed his dry, constricting throat and tried to form some words. "Y-you just told me you killed people for attempting to leave you and fucked their corpses until you can't recognize them anymore. I'm not stupid enough to think I'm special, you goddamn creep. Let me go, never talk to me again, and maybe I won't call the fucking police to give an eye witness account of what I saw here."

He was still going to do it. He was going to call the fucking police.

No. No.... No no no no no that won't do. That can't happen.

Deith's eyes widened. Lei... Lei was going to leave him, wasn't he? He was going to leave him like everyone else? Deith can't let that happen. Lei was his. Lei couldn't leave him.

"I'm not letting you go," he made a hysterical and shaky laugh. "You'll stay with me! Forever! You'll live with me in this house and we're going to bond together by cooking! You're not gonna leave."

His grip was forceful again. And this time, he was willing to drag Lei in back to the house and keep him there forever. The more Lei resisted, the stronger he pulled him.

Lei screamed.

He kicked and struggled and resisted Deith's grip, any way he can, even if he was weak, even if he wanted nothing more than to give in. The gray in his eyes jolted back to an almost radioactive sky blue. Water molecules in the air vibrated dangerously fast and made the atmosphere hot, almost scalding.

"Like Hell I am! You'd have to kill me like your fucktoy over there before you'd get to keep me! Do you think I'm so sick that I'd stay with a fucking serial killing lying cheating necrophiliac maniac?" He screamed, again. "If anybody's out there, help! This lunatic just killed a woman and he's going to kill me too!"

Deith felt his heart race arrhythmically, and fast. He cannot believe the words Lei was saying. He cannot believe he said all those, and in just one sentence. He can't believe Lei was going to sell him out to the police.

"Quiet!!!" He pulled him and slammed him against the wall. The impact must have been painful, since Deith threw him with force that came from anger and desperation. The corpse was on Lei's feet, and Deith was all over him, pinning him against the concrete. "You can't do that, Lei! You're going to stay with me!!"

He dug into his pocket for the fountain pen he always carried. If Lei wasn't going with him willingly, then he'll just have to make him want it.

Lei's head rattled a bit as he was shoved into the wall. For a moment, everything shook, and he was only half-processing what Deith was saying. When his mind went back to its right place, the first thing he saw was the fountain pen.

Fuck.

Oh fuck.

Lei's powers reacted immediately. The woman's clotting blood pieced her chest back together, and she stood up, wrapping her arms around Deith's middle. Her grip was unusually strong for her build and stature, but that was because she was just a puppet to be used for Lei's purposes.

Once the woman managed to pry Deith off, Lei moved his arms, giving instructions to the blood with his body like a conductor at an orchestra. All of the woman's squishy organs broke down into an indescribable bloody mass and wrapped itself behind Deith's body, leaving the skeleton to drop on the grass.

Lei circled the gory mass with Deith inside, and it followed his movements, making sure Deith was facing him the whole time. With a flick of his hand, it splattered all over the wall, not unlike a giant blood stain with Deith stuck in the middle. Lei closed his fist and froze the mass in a few seconds.

He wanted to kill him.

He couldn't. He wasn't going to be like him.

Lei took off his blue necklace, froze it to below zero temperatures and shattered it on the ground. He ground it up with his shoe and kicked it aside. Eyes filled with tears and the blue in them radioactive, he pointed at him.

"Don't you dare show your face to me ever again."

Fog surrounded the area.

Lei stepped backward and disappeared into the mist.

Deith was going to stab him. He was so close to doing it, too, so close and they'd be able to be together forever.

But everything that happened next passed his senses in a flash.

The corpse was suddenly moving again, and moreover, it was prying him away from Lei. "Damnit! Let go, dammit!" He pushed it away and tried to break free, but he got swallowed even more by the disgustingly distorted body, the organs, the blood, began wrapping themselves around him, binding him.

He can't move. He tried, but Lei was surprisingly strong. They won't even budge.

"LEI COME BACK!!!" He screamed, he stretched his hands hoping to catch him, to be able to stay with him.

And then everything froze. His senses went black. Only the feeling of Lei disappearing lingered.

He was alone. And Lei was disgusted at him now. And he was fucking stuck on the wall because of frozen meat!

Maybe... Maybe he shouldn't have done that. Lei was angry at him now. He can't show himself to him again.

He wanted to die, dammit.
