Private Finished Curiosity on the Ocean

"Thank you. I might take you up on the offer, but I'll have to explore the island first. I'd like to find somewhere secluded, away from people and animals to stay in. I'm lucky to not need food, water, clothing, or a place to sleep. All I have to focus on now is learning this island better by meeting its people and familiarizing myself with its land..."

They paused, their expression turning thoughtful before they turned towards Adelaida. "Do you know where I can find a map? I don't have a smart phone, so I would need a physical one."

Besom stood up, already deciding on where to go next. "Please lead me to the City Hall. I'd rather not get lost using an outdated map." The last part was said with a light chuckle.

"Ah! But first..." Going to someplace as important as City Hall (where there was a very likely possibility of gods being around) reminded Besom that they needed a change in outfit. Sparkles surrounded their body, covering them as their clothes changed from a maid outfit to a white knee-length dress with long sleeves, navy blue leggings, and black boots. The final addition was a strap on their back to hold their broom in. Once it was tucked in neatly and tightly, they told Adelaida, "This is better. I'm ready now."

"Show off," they teased, though they did take a couple of steps back from Adelaida. "This is only to help me blend in with all the different cultures." And to better please their masters, but lingering on that idea would only sour their mood.

Besom received significantly less glances now that they were wearing appropriate clothing for the beginning of fall. The moment they arrived to the map, Besom floated towards it and studied it meticulously. After about a minute passed, they floated back to look at Adelaida. "Thank you, this helped a lot. I think I'll look around the island some more myself. Would it be acceptable for me to visit your place every now and then? I would feel wrong entering without a warning.

Besom stiffened. Treat her as they really would? Besom wasn't sure what that would entail. Years of experience taught them to be polite initially until they understood what a persona wanted. Knowing that Adelaida didn't appreciate their manners, Besom forced themself to break out of it.

They stumbled forward a step when their back was patted. Remembering to show natural movement, they nodded and smiled. "Alright, alright. I'll keep your offer in mind and swing by whenever I'm ready. Have a pleasant night, Adelaida," they replied before returning to the map once more.

One of the islets looked like a good place to stay. Somewhere far out and safe.
