Violeta was sort of doing her own thing as usual. Her boyfriend was busy and she sure as hell wasn't going to waste any of her nighttime hours on homework or anything. So she was wandering around the campus seeing what she could get into. She tasted the emotions of a few groups of people as she passed by but she didn't want to linger and make them uncomfortable.

Eventually she made her way towards the fountain in the middle of the courtyard. For no real reason other than it was there. She sang quietly to herself as she walked- she'd been more and more ok with singing in front of other people lately and she really enjoyed it. She didn't even stop singing when she noticed someone coming towards her from the opposite direction. Though she wouldn't mind if they interrupted her.

It's only been a little while since Leila had 'accidentally' arrived in this new peculiar world, but things were already moving by so fast that she was barely able to keep up. And yes, she always had the option to just warp herself back to the world she came from, but that would be no fun. She wanted to explore this place and learn it's customs. She just didn't expect the locals to put her into what appeared to be a school. In fact, schools themselves were rather uncommon where she came from.

All that aside, she had found herself outside of the academical walls this lovely evening. It was only natural, given her affinity for, well... nature. Outside just felt the best for her. And drawn closer by the distant sound of a fountain, she found herself traversing the courtyard. What she did not expect was for the sound of running water to be so quickly mixed with a voice of a female nearby. A girl that was walking closer.

She did not seem to mind Leila's presence, so the silver-haired girl simply moved to the side with her hands behind her back and coyly observed while listening, a childish smile on her face as those blue eyes almost shine in the dimness of the place. There was no intention of interrupting that beautiful singing voice, at least not yet.

Violeta noticed the other woman and waved happily as she kept up her song. It was almost to the good part and it would be a shame to miss out on it. Drawing closer to the girl she could begin to taste which emotions the beautiful woman was giving off. It wasn't exactly a choice though, it was just how she experienced the world ever since being turned into a vampire. At least she didn't actually steal the emotions from people like some did.

It was weirdly perfect timing as she reached the big crescendo of the song right as she stood before the fountain. She couldn't help but get louder to do the part right and it sounded great. As usual there was that fun little moment where she closed her eyes and briefly the whole world was nothing but her song and the emotions she could sense. And then her voice quieted as the song trailed off at the end and she smiled as she opened her eyes.

Vi was dressed casually, in a sweater and a skirt but very long socks. Her appearance was a little deceiving because she looked a couple years younger than she actually was. "Hi! I'm Violeta," she exclaimed as she turned to face her one-woman audience of the moment. The singing had not left her breathless at all. "I don't think i've seen you around the school before?"

The girl kept in place, slowly turning to watch this mysterious singing beauty move toward the fountain as her song slowly reached it's climax, dissipating into the air after a wonderful performance. The emotions behind were clearly as the fact that it was in the middle of a night, which Leila appreciated. People doing what they adored doing most, there was just something very special about it.

Once the silence once again spread across the courtyard, the silver-haired maiden quickly broke it by clapping her hands toward this other girl to show that she liked her singing. Surprisingly, it wasn't too long before she introduced herself. "Good evening, name's Leila Vergious. A wandering mage for hire! Or at least I was back in my world, I arrived here just recently." She laughed about it awkwardly as she scratched the back of her head.

Being from another world was so natural to her, that she did not even realize that she could cause some confusion by disclosing that information. So she just kinda continued on, as if it was no big deal. "You have a beautiful voice, why not sing when there are more people around? Most seem to be sleeping right now."

"Oh, well welcome to the island then, Leila the wandering mage. Don't worry, a bunch of people here are from other worlds," she grinned and walked back closer to the woman. No sense in keeping a distance if they were going to be chatting.

"Thank you so much. I, well, do sing around other people sometimes but i'm still getting used to that again." She stopped to look around at how few people seemed to be out and about at the time. Technically there were all kinds of nocturnal people living on the island but a lot of the truly nocturnal students were probably at class and a fair number of the ones not in class preferred to hang out more in the city than on campus. "I don't really need to sleep so I kind of see what fun I can get up to while everyone else does sleep. Tonight that just happened to be wandering and singing," she explained and then also added, "and meeting someone new too so it's a good night so far."

The girl chuckled a bit when the full title she gave to herself came back in the voice of the other girl. It was definitely interesting to hear that about others from different worlds being here. Perhaps it even made Leila feel a little bit less lonely in that regard. "This academy is definitely an interesting place, isn't it? I don't recall there being anything like it back home."

While saying that, the silver-haired maiden found the nearest thing that either was or could be used as a bench, sitting down and smiling at the nocturnal being approaching her. Without a spec of hesitation, she patted the spot next to her, indicating that she was fine with Violeta sitting next to her if she herself was comfortable with that.

"I see, I see. It definitely is an interesting night so far! I haven't met anyone like you in my whole life until now!" She then grinned somewhat childishly, as if she had just discovered a new interesting toy to play with. In the very innocent way, too. "And I think you should sing for people more, I'm sure so many would appreciate it. I certainly did!"

Vi followed as the woman walked over to one of the stone benches arranged about the courtyard. In the daylight they were usually filled with students between classes but at night it was fairly quiet. "It's interesting for sure. Though I have to admit it isn't like i'm super familiar with schools. I had to do a lot of work in remedial after I got here."

She smiled back and slipped over to the seat Leila gestured to. The woman didn't seem like someone Vi should be worried about. "Me? I'm just your average girl who got turned into a vampire and is now dating a cat who's a boy. Well, I guess when I put it that way it's not that average," she laughed. The woman reminded her a bit of herself, and the countless others, who arrived on the island and were fascinated with the variety of people there. Heck, she'd only been on the island herself for less than a year.

"I'm really glad you liked it. I do karaoke and stuff like that sometimes, but I don't think i'm quite ready for any kind of stage or anything. There's a bunch of stuff, but it's complicated and boring so I won't go too much into it," she said as she shrugged it off. Complicated was a good way to describe a lot of things with people on the island. Both good and bad.

"Remedial... I think that's what I'm going through right now!" The girl grinned childishly as if excited that they had something in common. She also made sure to properly scoot to the side when Vi sat down, ensuring that they both had plenty of room. First impressions were always important, so she didn't want to make this potential new friend feel uncomfortable! That said, she did slightly freeze when she heard the word 'vampire' and instinctively ran her hand over her neck.

"Um... are you one of those that make it really painful when drinking blood from their victims..?" She then proceeded to ask, her voice shaking ever so slightly. Hopefully, that was not too insulting, since the girl just had a bad experience with vampires. As most of them in her world were, while still humanoid, a bit more monstrous and way more vicious, attacking and killing everything in their path. Only the highest of them actually looked like humans and those were the most deadly ones.

Thankfully that fear was quickly chased away by a mention of something else, as well as hopefully an answer that would not terrify her any further. "Kara... oke? I don't think I've ever heard that word before. Is it some sort of singing practice?" It was actually quite amazing how many new words Leila was learning in the past few days, even with the translating magical item present all the time.

Violeta could tell the woman was a little bothered by the mention of vampires. Not just because she stiffened but because her emotions were quite clear. Vi didn't make it a habit of actually saying out loud which emotions she was detecting from people- that would be really mean and rude. Plus then people wouldn't want to be around her. Instead her eyes softened and she tried to give Leila the most comforting smile she could.

She couldn't blame the woman for being afraid of vampires. Vi had met some very scary vampires in her life. She'd been a terrifying vampire for a while before the thrall was broken. Fortunately the shift towards talking about karaoke seemed to be making Leila less terrified.

"Oh, karaoke is sort of like singing practice but it's more of a game. You go to a party or a bar or something and people take turns singing. They have a machine there to tell you the words and you try to sing along." She was kicking herself for not realizing that if she was from a different world then there would be no reason for her to know what Karaoke even was. Oops.

She didn't want to just leave the other subject unanswered though. "Hey," she said with a fair amount of softness to her voice. She'd had some practice lately with being comforting towards people who were really scared. "About that other thing. You really don't have to worry. I don't actually feed on blood- i'm an emotional vampire. Look, I don't even have fangs." Vi opened her mouth and sure enough there were indeed no fangs.

A smile actually went a long way. It was comforting and Leila did not think it fake at all. Then again, she was not as good at reading people as she thought she was. Regardless, the sped up heartbeats inside of her chest were slowly calming down once again. By the time they were properly discussing karaoke, she was feeling fine as always.

"Heee... technology of this world sure is something!" A simple reply after she saved the description of what this new activity was inside of her memory. People singing together... it kinda sounded like a choir, but more fun because no one would get mad if someone was not exactly the best at singing. Perhaps she should try it out one day, once she has actual friends in this academy.

Now that Leila was no longer least bit afraid of this vampire, she accepted the facts much easier. Though the moment she heard that Vi was someone feeding on emotions, her expression shifted to one that was not really of fear, but still showing that there was something a bit unpleasant going on. "Somehow, feeding on emotions sounds much worse than feeding on blood. Ah, nothing against you, of course! You can't help who you are, after all!"

Quickly trying to shift back to her more cheery self, she would then happily examine the open mouth to see that there were no fangs just like she said. A vampire that required something other than blood... it almost sounded strange. But fascinating at the same time! "As a sorry for before, is there any way I can help you? I don't really know how to willingly offer emotions to be 'eaten' by someone, though..."
