"Okay" said Charlie, and four undead trooped out of the box to join Marcus and Ferris. Each was armed with a large square shield, and a spear. Charlie nodded to the undead, and they each nodded back. Charlie turned to Ferris and said: "They'll obey your commands for the next five hours, with several restrictions. They cannot be used to hurt myself, or any other staff or student at Starlight Academy."

After this, Charlie followed the guide through the forest, barely managing to keep up. Charlie struggled to keep an eye on the guide, but he realized if he focused on a single dark patch on it's back, he could slightly keep it in sight. He almost lost it a few times when the guide turned. It truly was a fascinating creature.

((I guess i'll go for 4. Also, Schro and Javi, your chars are ordering the four undead around. They're pretty strong, but their bodies are kinda sewn together, so they fall apart after a few hits, but the pieces keep going.))

Ferris would be able to tell that the two creatures had stuck together, their scents overlapping as they travelled together. In many cases they'd gone single file, but Ferris's sense of smell would make it clear they weren't far away, and within a few minutes they'd be able to spot the creatures in the distance, moving slowly through the bush, their haste forgotten.

—-

Charlie would have a bit longer to go, and around the time that Ferris would be able to spot their targets, the guide abruptly stopped, raising a limb in a signal that could very easily be interpreted as stop. It stayed perfectly still for several moments, and then would broadcast directly to Charlie.

I have lost contact with our target. If my tracking has stopped working, either someone has nulled it, or more likely the target has died. We do not need to retrieve the body, if you wish to reunite with the others, it said, still staring towards where they had been heading.

"I've got them in my sights." ferris noted Marcus quietly getting his net ready "Protect Marcus." he commanded the undead soldiers to do as he sneaked stealthily to the creatures with the net in hand. Like the wolf he was ferris crept patiently til he was in very close range, the his whole body would snap to ensnare the creature in the net. He made sure to tie the top to secure them.

"Got'em!"

Staying Back, Marcus watched as Ferries approached the two creatures. Hopefully, he didn't startle them like last time, He thought.

But no, this one was a success. Quickly, He made his way over and pressed the book through the net to touch both of them. As they disappeared, Marcus shut the book. This is where it gets interesting, He had approximately five minutes before the book released them.

"Well, We got them." He announced to Ferris. "But it might be an idea to keep the net ready again."

With their target dead, the guide was faced with a painful problem: What to do. They'd intended to return with all creatures, and with one dead, that plan was out the window. But with the risk of something in the forest trying to get them, it delegated. Charlie was sent in the direction they'd last felt the connection, but the guide themself headed back in the direction Ferris and Marcus had gone, carefully tracking them.

Ferris and Marcus would have an easy time capturing the creatures. Even when Ferris sprung his trap, their attempts to flee did nothing in the face of the net, and the book was icing on the cake. It made transporting them quick and easy, and they'd be interrupted shortly after by a click of the radio. Charlie's message would be brief, letting them know the guide was headed back towards them, and to head towards the clearing if they had already managed to capture their targets.

(( WD has stepped out of the event due to personal reasons, so I've bunnied them along as mentioned in this post. ))

(( This will be the first skip for both of you - if there's no replies in 48 hours, I'll consider the event ended and write up a summary of how stuff went down that just bunnies everyone along. ))

((Whoop sorry about that, I got a little busy in other things in life))

Ferris nods to Marcus and lead him back out the woods to where the guide had messaged them to be, which was the clearing, as quickly as they could.

Ferris had the curiousity in his head of marcus's abilities with his book, interesting how he could summon up different items from his books and even trap the creatures they captured inside one of them. However even with this useful utility that Marcus may have in ferris's eyes he was no battle harden hunter.

((Sorry too))
Receiving the Guide's message, Marcus followed Ferris back to the clearing, along with the four undead soldiers trailing behind.

They mustn't have been far, He thought If they already caught their target.

Thankfully, they wouldn't be that far, and Marcus could quickly deposit the creatures into Charlie's Sarcophagus. ((OOC: if it was there...))

Neither Ferris nor Marcus would make it back to the clearing before they'd hear a clear telepathic message.

Come this way! There's a path.

Unusually, there was also a clear direction that came accompanying the message, pointing off into the woods not far from the path. Marcus wouldn't be able to smell anything, but if Ferris tried he'd simply smell a strong sweet smell, like that of honey.

"Hmm...alright lets go towards where this guide's voice speaks of. Kinda strange having a telepath order me around, bet a kid like you is used to this kind of thing." ferris followed the direction of the guide's voice but being very cautious as he did so, the woods could have anything so even when he attempted some small talk with Marcus he would keep aware of his surroundings.
