So he wasn't a Mummy, but a Necromancer? Cool. Marcus Followed the group into the forest, keeping his feet steady on the rough terrain. The Guides voice- or lack of it- still rung in his head, the sensation weird. He was listening, but not hearing?

Observing Ferris Marcus noticed how the werewolf disappeared with the expertise of an experienced woodsman. How long did he train to become like that? Compared to that, He and Charlie, who Marcus just realized he HAD actually met before, were just 'city folk'.

Charlie strolled behind them, keeping pace, as the sarcophagus crashed through the brush behind him, dragging a small portion of a brandle bush with it. Luckily, after that, it had decided that moving sideways, like a crab, was the best plan of action so as to avoid disturbing the forest further. After a while, the brambles fell off and it continued after the quartet of hunters.

Charlie liked strolling through the forest, although he prefered to do it alone. It was peaceful. Most creatures generally left him be, although he had had to... scare off a large dog-like creature who had attempted to use him as a chewtoy. Many of the creatures he had met seemed to use smell and thermoception, but Charlie smelt neither of sweat, nor gave off any body heat, so he was often indistinguishable from the forest around him, except by sight.

Ferris was doing well. Their guide could all but vanish in the brush at first glance, and despite Ferris's immense size, he was clearly going out of his way to do the same. Even without any sort of supernatural ability that would help, he was quiet.

Charlie, by comparison, was not quiet, and their guide would briefly stop, staring back at them until the giant stone box abruptly decided to travel via a method that was less terrible.

It will have difficulties travelling in the deep forest, Charlie would hear, although none of the others would. Do what you must.

Even without the warning, the others would have their own issues. The terrain was rough, with no path or even anything akin to an animal trail. Their guide was clearly taking them by the most direct route, rather than the most comfortable, and they'd frequently find themselves clamoring over hard roots and through tall plants.

For the most part, the group was loud enough that any animals stayed well away, although if they paid attention they might catch sight of a fox in the distance. They would be travelling for almost an hour when their guide spoke again, this time to all of them.

If you need to rest, please alert me.

Ferris was focused on following the guide, though he was moving through the brush of the woods which annoyed ferris a bit. Thus ferris now decided that he could 'kill 2 birds with 1 stone' if he climbed and maneuvered via treetops, jumping and climbing to the trees allowed him to keep a bird's eye view on not only the guide but as well Marcus and Charlie all while still being silent due to the height of the trees being enough to make it seem like Ferris's movement up there was merely wind on the leaves. He's done it before and it looked like the group will continue into deeper parts of the forbidden woods, thus ferris would move by tree top as swiftly as he can.

'I require no rest on my part, im used to hunting for long periods of time, however should the others need the rest i can keep watch from above.' Ferris replied to the guide via thought, though ferris was not a psychic so he cant tell if the guide heard it or not 'Umm...Signal me by raising your hand or arm appendage if the others want to stop. Ill be able to see it from up here.'

Thus ferris kept an eye out for the guides signal.

At first, He was in awe by the large sarcophagus, but then after a while of listening to it crash through the forest, He was used to the sound, and the change in motion startled him.

He couldn't say the same for Ferris, who he had long since lost track of. It was possible the werewolf had left them behind, but the guide probably wouldn't agree with that.

The Guide itself was strange enough, and often Marcus found himself thinking about it, such as wondering if it had a name. The appearance of a fox near a patch of trees distracted him from this for a bit, however.

While walking he was taking inventory of what books he had, when he 'heard' the Guide in his head, asking about rests. Admittedly, though he could use one to rest his feet for a moment, Marcus knew he was the most mundane one in the group, and thus he kept quiet.

As they clambered over the unsteady ground, the walking pattern of the box began to change, from that of a trotting horse, to similar to a mountain goat, always ensuring thay at least four legs were on the ground. Charlie heard the telepathic call of the guide, asking if they needed to stop. Stop? They had barely been going an hour?

"I'll rest when i'm dead" said Charlie, at the edge of hearing, a companied by a small, quiet, dry chuckle. He was still using verbal communication, for fear of the strangeness telepathic would bring.

Charlie looked around himself at his compatriots. They were a motley band. The strange creature leading the bunch, the hunter Ferris, the bibliophile Marcus and, of course, himself. They had themselves a pair of scouts, a mage and, if neccessary, an army. That was the purpose of the box that was a constant accompaniment to Charlie. After all, what was an undead overlord without his horde?

The guide didn't respond to Ferris's message in the slightest, carrying on silently. Since Marcus hadn't spoke, and Charlie's comment had been so quiet, there was no telling if it had even heard at all.

They'd have almost an hour left to walk before they finally reached their destination, coming abruptly into a clearing. There was light filtering in from the top, giving the entire place an unusual feeling compared to the rest of the dark forest, and in the center of the clearing were a half dozen creatures that could only be described as cute.

They were around the size of a large dog, with large eyes and tiny paws, impossibly fluffy and lacking absolutely anything that might have allowed them to defend themselves. Even when the group entered the clearing, one simply looking up at them, it's large eyes staring at them but showing no sign of real alarm. After a few moment, it simply wandered back towards its fellows, unconcerned.

(( Please be as specific as possible about what your character is doing in the next post, and try not to do too much, since a lot could change very quickly. ))

Ferris looked at the half dozen cutesy creatures, to say the least he was confused as to what these creatures were doing here. But cute or not ferris would be cautious, this forest is forbidden for a reason. He kept an eye on them but watched what the guide might do, either way ferris would have to wait in the treetops for everyone to move so that he would climb the surrounding tree around the clearing.

"Strange bunch of monsters." he said to himself

Reaching the clearing, Marcus was ready to drop, But thankfully, he didn't, instead choosing to sit on a nearby stump, rubbing his ankles.

As he did, Marcus stared at the creatures in the clearing. These were what they were looking for? At least it wouldn't be too difficult to capture these, as they didn't seem to be able to fight back if need be.

Charlie knew of a kind of fish, the anglerfish. They had a biouminescence growth on their head, which acted as a lure to attract smalller fish. He had seen many things that did the same thing, creatures pretending to be a something positive or attractive in order to lure people in. Everything from pitcher plants to succubi. He had even seen an emmense creature once, who would wait in storms, looking and acting like an island, with it's jaws open like a bay, a safe refuge. When a ship, seeking refuge from the storm would seek harbor, the jaws would close, and the creature would feed. That which looked safe and inviting often was not.

Jason Chang knew these creatures inside out, and Charlie knew he wouldn't have sent them here without good reason, so they needed to prepare. Charlie went over to his box, and his glamour dropped, revealing the crowned skeletal form beneath, glowing with a low eldritch blue light. The lid on the box opened with a small sound, levered up by the bone inlay.

Charlie took a risk and thought, hoping the strength of the words could block out any other voices in Charlie's head, reinforcing each sylabble, the words: "I have a lot of undead in my box. If we need to fight, they will help."

The words were simple, but this close to their quarry, speaking was sadly not an option. Charlie hoped the telepathic creature who led them heard nothing else from him.
