As Rym ascended, he began to notice how many people were in the air. His heart dropped despite how far away they were. He doubted that that amount of people were there because of him, but paranoia was starting to set in, and he didn't want to take any risks. He started flying away from the direction of the people.

However, Rym soon came to the realization that there could be people that were searching for him on the ground, as well. This put him into a perpetual state of flying and rotating, which looked ridiculous, but allowed him to see all around him while staying on the move.

With people actively searching for him (and knowing what to search for), Rym would have a significantly harder time evading his pursuers. There were no people on the ground particularly looking for him, but there were easily a dozen people flying sweeping patterns through the sky.

It wasn't long before someone spotted Rym in the distance, and then it was a full on pursuit. The various flying figures oriented themselves towards Rym, starting to fly towards him from all angles.

Eventually, Rym's strange spinning rotation allowed him to see that he was being surrounded. A numerous amount of people were closing in on him way too fast. As much as he tried to keep the memory from resurfacing, he couldn't help but think back to when a group of humans had destroyed his town, and how they ended up backing him and his family into a corner. Even if some of his pursuers weren't human, it didn't matter. The situation was disturbingly familiar.

He was panicking. His entire body suddenly started twitching violently, and he couldn't stop it no matter how hard he tried. He had to escape.

Rym's control was sloppy with how unreliable his body was, but he didn't exactly need refined control to execute his plan. He hadn't seen anyone on the ground coming his way, so he lowered himself so that his feet were touching the thin layer of snow that covered the ground. He then lifted his arms and tensed them, and a wave of snow mirrored his movements. Rym knew that he probably couldn't use the same move as before to shake this many pursuers, but he had to try.

He boosted himself along the ground and brought his arms forward like he was throwing something. The wave of snow followed close behind. His arms kept moving so that the snow would continuously raise and spread out around him as he raced along the ground.

There could be no doubt that it was now, at this point, a full concerted effort to catch him. Before, it could have been a single person, but as Rym approached the ground almost a dozen flying figures were starting to close in. A few stayed up, maintaining altitude, while several more dove.

As Rym shot along the ground, sending up sprays of snow, three of his pursuers dropped in behind him, forming a lose V as they struggled to maintain the sort of speed he was putting out.

One still in the air produced something that looked a lot like a megaphone, making proper contact for the first time.

"Stop immediately," the voice boomed.

A few of Rym's pursuers lowered to the ground behind him, but they could barely keep up. He twisted around so that his back was facing the ground, but he was still flying in the same direction, and formed three walls of snow right in front of them. The walls weren't hard enough to hurt them, but it would hopefully slow them down.

Rym faltered slightly when he heard the voice telling him to stop. He thought back to when someone had been pursuing him earlier, and how they had called out to him, as well. They might've said the same thing....

Oh no.

His heart dropped as he realized that his pursuers might've been the authorities of the island. What happened on the night that forced him from his home had caused him to become paranoid. He tried to rationalize his decision to flee by thinking that not so many people had to chase him, but he knew that if he didn't stop now, he'd be in much more trouble than he already was.

Rym came to an abrupt stop and planted his feet in the snow. He then created multiple ten foot tall walls around him in a concentric fashion, raising above the innermost one to slightly peak over it. He created spikes on the top of the walls so that they couldn't get too close.

None of his pursuers were particularly clear what the plan was. There wasn't really one to begin with. It was a situation with minimal information, and so they were forced to fly (pun intended) by the seat of their pants. When Rym landed, several started to move towards him, only to immediately shoot back as his walls sprung up.

Well, that was something.

The woman with the megaphone slipped a bit closer, still in the air as she held it up again.

"Surrender yourself immediately!"

Rym was hesitant to comply. He had already realized that they were the authorities, but having so many people chase him was... concerning, to say the least. He didn't even know what he had done wrong that prompted being chased in the first place.... Well, there was the running from the police thing, but he meant before that.

Nevertheless, Rym lowered the walls and lowered himself to the geound. He didn't want to be in any more trouble than he already was. His hands raised to the back of his head. "I surrender," he said calmly.

In actuality, Rym's heart was pounding. There were way too many people around him at the moment. He had to force himself to remain calm.

At least a few people around him seemed genuinely surprised when they surrendered. None of them had weapons drawn, but that wasn't exactly inspiring on Manta Carlos. Manta Carlos was the land of powers, and just because someone didn't have a gun drawn didn't mean they weren't about to shoot a fireball in your direction.

One of them--a man in a police uniform--stepped forward, his feet firmly on the ground.

"We'd like you ask you a few questions," the man said. Whether or not it was a request or an order remained to be seen.

The longer the situation went on, the less panicked Rym was. He was still on edge, for sure, but the people around him weren't advancing. However, just to be safe, he kept a small swirl of snow around his ankles at all times.

Rym had to resist the urge to step back when one of the police officers stepped forward. It was a human. In fact, a few of the officers surrounding him were human, but this one in particular was approaching him. Rym found that his voice was failing him, so when the man said that they wanted to ask him questions, he simply nodded.

He was most definitely a human, as were most of those around him. A few were already starting to take off, the situation effectively dealt with, but the majority stuck around, keeping a lose ring around Rym as they let the officer handle things.

"What were you doing when you were first approached? And why did you run?"

To say it was suspicious was to violently underestimate things.
