Rym kept himself afloat on a platform of snow. He could only hope that he was blending in with the heavy snowfall, because a group of people was walking below him and he didn't want to risk moving. They were helping to clear the snow, and Rym decided that the way they were doing it could've been more efficient. Even so, he was as still as a statue. It took a whole minute after the people left his view until he was willing to move again.

The snowfall still wasn't letting up, although Rym didn't expect any different. He had spent hours flying around the island to try and find the source of the snow with no luck. He had even considered that he might've somehow been creating snow subconsciously, but quickly realized that the snow definitely wasn't his own.

There were people out and about everywhere, contributing to the effort to get rid of the snow, except there was obviously no stopping it at the moment. The best they could do was keep the snow out of areas that it would cause too much trouble in. Rym noted that many of the people helping were humans. Despite his resentment towards them, he would've felt bad for doing nothing when he could do so much to help. That isn't to say that he was going to make his presence known. He planned to stay hidden by the snow, sixty feet in the air where the chance of seeing him was low. He moved one of his arms, and a large sheet of snow pushed itself off of the street.

The entire island was on varying levels of high alert, and there was little question as to why. The snow was piling up, and while the city and school were doing their best to keep things clear, there was only so much that could be done. The snow had to go somewhere. Even melting it with the multitude of fire manipulators was risky business, because of the chance it could convert to ice.

With no apparent suspects, many eyes had fallen on those whose powers might have potentially caused such a thing. Gods. Ice dragons. Snow and ice manipulators. And while no one had been pegged as a culprit, Rym spending his time flying around the island, manipulating snow on a platform made of even more snow was liable to draw the attention of a person here or there. The fact that they'd taken so long to track down--nearly invisible from the ground as they were--only made things that much more suspicious in the mind of the not one but two people who'd called in sightings.

There would be no obvious sound, but in the distance--maybe a hundred feet west of Rym--a small humanoid figure with massive black wings had leapt from the roof of a building, flapping to gain height as they began to rise, heading in Rym's location.

OOC: DM can drop in if they want, but otherwise I don't plan to hold the thread for them. If you want to speed thread, let me know. Otherwise, I'll be posting ASAP when I see a reply.

Rym continued this process of moving snow and stopping when somebody was close enough to notice. There were too many close calls to count, mostly because the snow was so heavy that people were often too hard to see. After a particularly large crowd began approaching, he waited for them to pass and started moving snow at a much slower rate.

Something flittered in Rym's peripheral vision, and his head shot up to look at it. At first, it was nearly invisible. However, as it got closer, Rym managed to identify them as wings. Large, black wings, and whoever was attached to the wings was moving in his direction.

In that moment, all rational thought left Rym's head. He reabsorbed the disk of snow and let himself drop. Just before he was about to hit the ground, he materialized it again and flew away from whatever was coming towards him. Well, he didn't know if it was actually coming towards him. He just knew that he didn't want to be seen.

Rym's pursuer might have missed him, had he not been already heading straight for him. But he had his eyes on the prize, and when Rym--and his snow--abruptly plummeted towards earth, the winged woman pulled her wings tight to her body and started to dive. She was dressed in a warm flying suit, and her wings were not unlike that of a bird. Even so, features were largely hidden as she plummeted down, wings flaring before she missed the ground and immediately trying to spot Rym as they fled.

"Stop immediately!" The woman yelled, her voice struggling to be heard despite the wind.

Rym watched the flying person for a second. He hadn't known for sure whether or not they had actually been pursuing him. However, when the person changed course and began flying straight towards him, he had all the proof he needed. He dedicated all his attention to escaping, even after hearing them yell something he couldn't quite hear.

He didn't know what his pursuer's intentions were, so he decided that he didn't want to hurt them. There were many things he could do with the amount of snow that was both on the ground and in the air. He reached his arms out behind himself, and then quickly brought them up, like he was lifting something. The snow on the ground behind him and in front of him flew into the air, creating a huge cloud of snow. He couldn't see where he was going, but turned at a ninety-degree angle to hopefully shake his pursuer.

Rym had a great number of significant advantages in the snow, the majority of which their pursuer simply didn't have. Even with them in hot pursuit, their attempt to keep up was foolhardy. Their attempts were for nothing, and within five minutes Rym wouldn't even be able to see them.

The question remains now: What's Rym doing now that he's lost his pursuers?

Rym had to have been sitting in the snow for at least ten minutes. He didn't want to risk being in the air, for it was likely that he was still being searched for. It was more likely for people to come across him when he was on the ground, but he had checked multiple times, and it always looked like the coast was clear. He just had to hope that no one would do anything to the giant mound of snow on the side of the street he was inside of.

It was only after another five minutes that Rym decided to get back to work. He would have stopped, but he didn't really have anything else to do, so he kept going. He pulled some more snow off of the street, albeit at much smaller intervals, and added it to the giant mound he was located inside of.

From his spot on the ground, Rym would find no trouble. But elsewhere on the island, trouble was aiming to find him. While his original pursuer had simply been coming up to tell him he was freaking people out, his sudden disappearance--vanishing as he had--raised a lot of red flags.

The Manta Carlos Police Department were on the lookout now, patrolling the city and waiting for Rym to rise into the sky once more.
