His fingers tapped slowly on his knee, he watched from under his hood, as his guests continued to slumber upon the warehouse floor. A half-angel and his human companion, he'd watched these two for some time.

He tilted his head to look at his third guest, a fox he'd thought was a demon. A mistake, but he decided to play her anyways. He'd played his game before in the outside world, now he'd come to the island to continue. A fire burned hot in the corner, the blade of one of his scythes in it.

Leaning slightly, he tapped knuckles on the wall, it was time. Time to wake up, time to play, play the game. It was time to play.

All she could hear was knocking. What was going on, where was she? Slowly, groggily, Liz opened her eyes. It was dark, all the windows had been covered, and the majority of the building seemed to be concrete. Most likely an abandoned warehouse somewhere. Somehow, even upon realising her hands were bound and that there was an incredibly creepy looking guy watching over them, she couldn't help but think it was rather cliché.

Oddly, the terror of the situation hadn't seemed to set in for her, perhaps it was the shock that made her so casually address the person that she supposed had kidnapped her "so, you do this often?" It seemed that years of hearing her dad's tales of work had made the novelty of the idea of being kidnapped wear off. She was sure she could find a way out of this. She forced a grin that turned into a cough from inhaling the dust in the stale air. It was when she bowed her head to attempt to cover her mouth that she realised there were other people here; someone she didn't recognise and... Soren.

Now the panic set in. Risking, or even losing, her life she could cope with, but not Sorens. Anyone but Soren. Elizabeth shouted his name, hoping he would wake up so she would know he wasn't already dead. That said, there were no obvious marks on him, a few bruises and cuts but nothing that was enough to kill him. It gave her some hope. She turned back to face the man who had been tapping on the wall. "What the hell is this. Why have you brought us here," she spat out at him "what are you going to do."

Yoka woke up on the floor.

Her hands were bound, her head was pounding, and there was a lot of fucking noise. Someone was rapping against the wall and someone else was screaming.

Before she even opened her eyes, she tested the bonds on her wrists, but they were...shit, they were well-placed. She wondered if they were magic. She wondered if she could slip into a smaller shape and disappear, but Yoka wasn't ready to try her powers, not until she knew where she was.

She opened her eyes and...

Great.

Creepy warehouse.

At least this time it wasn't a spooky mausoleum in the cemetery. But Yoka was livid. She was so damn tired of being kidnapped.

She closed her eyes.

She needed to think about this. She needed to think about how she could escape and get back home an make sure Murphy was safe. She didn't see him here, but that didn't mean they didn't have him.

She said, "Do you accept credit for ransoms or is it cash only?"

He tilted his head one way and then the other, from the human to the fox. Neither were his usual prey, the human girl would be useful in playing with her nephilim companion, the fox he'd decided to play with for no real reason, she was here for the ride. Both seemed strong, yes this was going to be fun.

The hooded man remained silent as he rose from his seat and strolled to his guests. Stopping briefly he looked to the sleeping half-angel, oh how he'd watched and waited for the time to play with him. He looked back to the human and then back to the half-blood, yes this was going to be fun.

His foot nudged the angel's head, it was scabbing over from where the hooded man had struck. The white haired boy moaned as his eyes fluttered open, yes, turquoise eyes, so odd. Grabbing the back of his head, he brought him up to his knees. A small chuckle escaped the hooded man as the angel spouted profanities.

Then the hooded man turned to the human, and the angel seemed to erupt in an odd combination of threads and pleas, pleas for the girl to be left alone. He left the boy to struggled with his bonds as he moved on to the women. Crouching beside the human, he placed a hand on her head to hold her in place, then gently brushed his fingers over her cheek, the angel still yelling behind him.

Humming quietly, he moved onto the fox, ah the pretty thing he picked up by accident, like a lost stray. Crouching, his hands quickly grabbed her below her bottom jaw, and he petted her head, like a pet, a thing he kept around out of enjoyment.

Soren felt the boot against his head, the pain shooting through it. His eyes flew open was pulled to his knees. "Bastard!" he yelled at the hooted man, his eyes filled with anger and fear, "you son of a bitch."

His eyes tightened with protective anger as the hooded man turned to Liz, "you leave her the fuck alone." The hooded dropped him back to the ground, he struggled, his wings appearing in a desperate attempt to break his binds. "Get away from her!" he screamed as the man went to Elizabeth before moving on to the woman he didn't know. "Leave them alone!" he said, half scream, half begging. His mind racing was racing, his wings and hands struggled to break his binds.

Liz watched in silent despair as he went over to Soren and nudged him with his foot, it was only now she noticed the larger cut on his head, just starting to heal over. She winced just looking at it. Liz felt panic start to rise up in her and she quickly realised she would be of no help in this situation as she was. She shot an apologetic look at Soren, she really didn't want to do this but it was the only way she could possibly be of any help. Closing her eyes she focused on pushing back all emotions, activating her mind shifting again, though much, much weaker than previously. It was just enough to supress the majority of her panic, nothing more.
Liz opened her eyes just as the man walked over to her and held her head, stroking her face. Giving him a disgusted look she just said "You know, I feel like this is a bit of overkill. You've already got the whole deserted warehouse thing going on, this is just trying to hard to be creepy."
Watching him go over to the other girl, watching him literally pet her, disgusted her even more. This man was a psychopath, that much was very clear now if it already wasn't from the fact he'd kidnapped them and tied them up.

Despite all her bravado, all her years of dastardly planning and flirting with death, all of her power and prestige...Yoka was afraid.

The fear didn't full grip into her until the man reached up and pet her head, smoothing her hair back against her scalp while his other hand gripped her jaw.

And for the first time in a long time, Yoka Sake realized how completely helpless she was. That screaming sound she heard earlier wasn't the girl tied up across from her. That screaming sound was the hiss of her own helplessness.

He knew what she was.

She could tell by the way he pet her. And if he knew what she was and he didn't care, then Yoka knew how much danger she was really in. Her mind tried to think of a plan but she felt as though she was exhausted, as though whatever had knocked her out had not quite worn out of her system.

She wasn't going to beg. But she wasn't going to end her life without a fight.

When he went over to the other man, Yoka raised her voice. There was no tremble in it, but her heart was pounding. Murphy, she thought. She never told him she loved him.

"You should let us go," Yoka said. "You've made a mistake. People will be looking for us."

She had no idea how long he already had them.

He didn't answer any of them, he didn't say a single word. The hooded man remained silent and continued to pet Yoka, he loved it, every moment of it. Yes, he'd picked the right trio for this game, the ambitious fox, who was quickly humbled and the teenage girl, who seemed to have a bigger backbone than the fox, and then there was the nephilim, the key to it all.

Dropping Yoka's face, he rose, his hands clasping behind his back. Turning, he looked to the boy, they couldn't see it, but he was grinning, grinning because he knew what was coming next. Turning he stroll toward his fire, his black cloak brushing over the concrete floor.

Reaching down, he pulled he gripped the scythe's hilt and pulled it from the flames, the blade red hot. He faced the girls, his head tilted slightly, before turning to the angel. He crossed the distance between them quickly, his knee dropping into the boy's back, his hand gripping his wings to keep them from thrashing.

He glanced up and the girls briefly, a small giggle escaping him, then his blade moved, the boy fell forward, and the smell of burning feathers filled the room. The hooded man had claimed his trophies.

Soren was powerless, he couldn't do anything. He felt his them leave his back, but he didn't feel pain right away, he just felt cold. His face smacked into the concrete, his eyes filled with a hollowness, he was going to die, and so was Liz. He'd failed to protect someone he loved again.

As soon as she saw him pull out the scythe and start to walk towards Soren she knew what he was about to do. "You touch him-" she paused, composing herself, and looked straight at him. "You touch him and I swear I will kill you."

But it was too late, even as she said it he swung it down and sliced off his wings. Liz let out half a scream before she clamped her mouth shut along with her eyes and bolted the sound away with the chains in her mind. They were in too dangerous a position for her to lose it. There couldn't be a repeat of what happened to her father. Liz could have saved him then and she had to try and save them all now. She took a deep breath, processing the shift in her mind. Another breath, her mind was clear now, no emotions to cloud her senses. Another few breaths, another few seconds to analyse everything she could, every possible weakness this man or her chains could have. There were none. Liz looked up, her eyes empty. It was their life over hers and if she could find anything, absolutely anything, then she would not hesitate to do it. Though her voice held no indication of any feeling or sincerity she knew she had to say it, one last time. "I love you Soren Haine. I'm sorry. To both of you, I'm sorry"

To her credit, Yoka did not close her eyes when the man finally stepped away from her. She kept her eyes on him, watching his movements, trying to see how he walked. If he had a limp, any sign of weakness, maybe Yoka could exploit it.

Her heart raced in her chest but time seemed to stop when he pulled the burning scythe from the fire.

She was not thinking about saving the other two. The man knew what she was and didn't care, which meant whatever abilities the other two had could be just as powerful or even stronger than hers, but it wouldn't make a difference. That kind of confidence that the man was displaying was rarely unprovoked.

The smell of burning feathers filled the air.

Yoka swallowed.

Who was next?

Her eyes left the man to the fire. If there was any way she could access her powers, maybe...but no, Yoka was scared, and whatever he'd drugged her with was still in her system. She was very suspectible to these kinds of things; she was surprised she was even human.

"You're making a mistake," Yoka said again. "You should let us go. It's not too late, even now."

She swore if she lived she was going to get her revenge, but that depended on her living first.

And that seemed slim.

The Hooded Man stepped away from the halfbreed, setting his new trophies on a desk, they were beautiful, they'd be wonderful reminders of this day. He'd treasure them forever, wasn't every day that you got a genuine pair of angel wings, then, he turned to the girls.

Setting the heated scythe down, he pulled another from the inside of his cloak, no burns for them, no he wanted them to bleed. He started to slowly circle the fox and the human, ignoring the screams and threats of the half breed, he had to admit, the boy was stronger than he expected. Inside his hood, his eyes looked over the pair, trying to decide who should be first.

In the end, he chose the eldest to go first, he strolled over to the fox, and giggled cruely and he lifted her up by her hair. Leaning in, he whispered, to where only she could hear, "they foxes tricky and clever, but when they can't get our of trouble on their own, then there nothing," then he did it, he drove the blade into her abdomen, then he dropped her, like she was nothing.

The fox was dealt with, time for the human, he moved to her, lifting her just like the other, again her half angel love lover screamed and threatened, and again, the Hooded Man whispered, "in life and death, you'll always hear echoes, echoes of your regrets and mistakes," and again, he drove the blade in and dropped her.

He twirled hid bloodied scythe and giggled, the injuries he'd caused weren't instantly lethal, but without medical they'd both die, he quickly cut them both loose, neither would be a problem. So, with that done, he turned back to the half angel. His hooded head tilted, as if looking at his curiously. Then, he walked to him and did something unexpected, he cut him loose, the boy reacted as expected, he attacked the hooded man. He easily apprehended the boy, lifted him by his throat and stated toward the door with him.

Turning, he tossed the boy in between the girls, he'd let him decide what would happen. Who would live, who would die, and just like that, he was gone, out the door, vanishing into the night air. His work was done, one way or another, he'd win.

Soren landed between the girls, the madman vanishing out the door. He quickly moved over to Liz, pulling her into his arms, she was fading, they both were. Looking between them, he realized what he had to do, what he should do.

Gently setting her down, he moved between them, gently pulling them close, he looked to Yokka, he didn't know her, but that didn't really matter. Then he looked to Liz, "I love you, and I always will." He placed his hands on their wounds, and the vanished, reappearing on Soren.

The half angel immediately felt the affects of the blood loss, his skin paled even more, he fell back, his arms trying and failing to support him. He was fading and fast.
