Slowly, Katie would reach out and pull Vespa into a tight hug. She was scared that if she let go, Vespa would disappear.

She started trying to take everything in, the smell of Vespa, what the floor, the room was like. She was trying to take in as much as she could to "ground" herself. Like Yuki had told her to do.

"Don't... Don't leave.. Please... I can't.." Katie sniffled as she squeezed her eyes shut to try to stop crying. "I'm sorry." She whispered.

"It's ok," she'd whisper to her, "it's ok." She'd never cared about much before, but she cared about Katie. "Just uh....focus on me....on here."

Vespa would place her hands on Katie's cheeks, giving her a kiss and looking into her eyes. She'd never really had to comfort someone before, let alone help someone with a panic attack.

"I'm here Katie," she'd tell her, "and...its going to be ok." In truth she was just as scared as Katie, maybe even more so, but she wanted to be strong.

Katie just continued to hold Vespa for dear life. "I know.. I just.. I shouldn't be so emotional." Katie said. She wasn't even the one who was dying here! Vespa was the one in trouble and yet Katie was the one who had a panic attack and was sobbing on the floor.

"I.. I'll find a way to help you. I'll find a way to extend your life. I promise!" Katie said, now slowly getting her confidence back. "We'll find a way to get through this. Together."

Vespa would blink in surprise when Katie made that promise. A promise to help her extend her life, to help her keep on living, it was unexpected. The reaper girl would nod, hugging Katie tighter, leaning her forehead against hers.

She never expected someone to care so much about her, let alone to care about someone in return. Yet here she was, here thet were, a bundle of emotions and promises.
