It had been about thirty minutes after she arrived and Mei wasn't sure she wanted to go through with this. While the reason they were friends was a bit iffy, she was sure that in the future things would be okay. After all it wasn't her fault right? What happened if she got too attached and then Kaiser got her magical blunder reversed. She had no idea how to describe the way she was feeling, the giddiness when she, and whoever lended their help and advice were making her costume. As reluctant as she was to admit her feelings especially when she didn't understand them, the thirteen year old was counting this as her first date. She had no idea how to describe the feeling in her stomach..was that was never felt like?? little spiders doing tap dances and somersaults in your stomach?
Still she adjusted her cap and tried to stick to the shadows, who would find who first? She tried to look for someone that was floating, but she was sure that Kaiser would be smart enough to walk like normal. After all she could spot her friend a mile away because of his tendency to float. It wasn't exciting to her, at the same time a bit worrying. It didn't help her whole confusion about emotions that she felt awkwardly happy around Kaiser. Like the whole dilemma with her not being good enough for her family or being able to stay out trouble for too long didn't matter.
After all even though she had accidently screwed up and turned him thirteen he still stuck around and became her friend. He was the only person besides her family that had managed to see the nice caring side of her. Even if she didn't understand what that meant. She was still trying to wrap her head around caring for him in a way that didn't feel familia in the slightest. She was hoping that her mom or grandmother could help with that but she was too afraid to ask them.
She eventually found herself near one of the doors leading outside. Would it be cheating if she just walked out for a quick second? She was contemplating open the door when she felt someone behind her. Turning around, her dress and cape moving gracefully with her she smiled at the stranger. "Hello" She said, she was sure to use her most proper voice. If she started talking in slang it was a dead give away. On the inside she was feeling like a princess in the dress and at a ball...it was magical...even if she wouldn't ever admit it.
