Someone was messing with her emotions. Iris had similar powers and as such could instantly recognize the sensation. It was a unique feeling after all - feeling things without actually feeling them yourself. Without even looking around for the source, she snapped, "Whoever's doing that, cut it out. I get that you're probably trying to be nice but people who make mistakes need to confront the fallout, which in this case just happens to include a girl frustrated at her mother's Christmas gift having become irredeemably dirty."

She stepped in closer to Sky, her anger having subsided just a minimal amount, barely enough to let her feel a tiny modicum of pity and amusement. Really, recently her schadenfreude had been kicking in a lot.

"Tip number one: that's not how you bargain. You always start with figuring out what exactly the other party's looking for before you start throwing out random offers. You want to get ripped off? Cause that's how you get ripped off."

Iris extended a hand, and without waiting for a response plucked out a bit of food from his jacket and tossed it away. "Tip number two: Don't go offering too many things. Again, refer to tip one."

From there she walked away, rejoining the line for food as she needed breakfast badly. In her line of work, fuel was a necessity. "Tip number three: If you offer free food, you can be sure someone's going to bite."

She seemed to calm down a bit, which surprised Sky who expected her to be exasperated for a long time. Judging from her words, someone in the cafeteria can manipulate emotions.

"Barter skill: Leveled up. So how do you want me to compensate for the mishap then?" Sky replied as he continued dusting off food bits from his favorite outfit before queuing up behind Iris.

Wondering about Iris' subtle change in mood, he then took a quick scan around the canteen, and in the midst of walking students and angry glares, he spotted a calm looking person(?) staring intently at Iris.

"Whoever's doing that, cut it out. I get that you're probably trying to be nice but people who make mistakes need to confront the fallout, which in this case just happens to include a girl frustrated at her mother's Christmas gift having become irredeemably dirty." Madlumay eyes widened in surprise. she was shocked that it worked. She started to feel giddy. She was about to smile, until her conscience stopped her. "a girl frustrated at her mother's Christmas gift having become irredeemably dirty" She felt bad for her this time. She felt bad for everyone after. Everyone in the cafeteria was slightly wet and their food was spoiled with water. But she knew she can never blame the boy. It wasn't his fault that he was that unlucky. She's never seen a boy so unlucky. She thought that the boy was either cursed or incredibly clumsy.

She then heard the girl give tips on bargaining. Madlumay thought that this girl may be even't so bad after all. "Whoever's doing that, cut it out," her mind recalled what this girl said. Madlumay was again surprised that the girl discovered her meddling. She wondered what powers might this girl possess. She was aimlessly wondering until she felt a gaze on her. She saw the jinxed boy look at her. "Damn it" she thought. She didn't want to let them know that she tried to help. She then threw a disappointed look at her food, trying to blend herself with the other students. She was hoping that the boy will look away. She wanted to leave the cafeteria, but doing that will draw more suspicion. She stayed there staring at her food.

Iris ordered another steak, and both she and the person at the registrar shared the same exasperated look. "Can I have another steak please? And maybe, uh, tie it down to the plate? Thanks. Don't want it dropping off or anything."

She paid for her order and pulled up a chair, and the table beside it as well. The steak went on the table with a soft thud of ceramic plate. For as long as the food stayed where it was supposed to be, the line of light connecting her to the boy would stay harmless.

With a bit of a powerful poke she tore away a chunk of meat and began to eat. Halfway through her third bite she stared up and noticed that the boy was still standing around. "Sit the heck down, guy, or you'll fall over again. Appreciate my semi-infinite mercy while it lasts. And while you're at it, try and figure out how you're going to fix the blazer issue."

"We could've asked someone to clean it instead of throwing it on my field." Sky responded as he got his fantastic order of heavily creamed salad, a cheeseburger, and a glass of milk and sat down across Iris. He then looked over at the peculiar individual that had the emotion manipulating ability, who is now throwing glares at her otherwise normal food.

Munching down on his burger, he then pointed at her and said
"Is she trying to make her food angry this time?"
He then took a small sip of milk as he looked Iris in the eye.
"Hmm, well what do you want me to do with the blazer issue now that it's just a pile of ash on the ground? Oh, something's.." He pushed off a tiny piece of veggie from her hair that has been sitting snug on top of her head. He looked around then noticed that the bucket and mop is still in the middle of the place with students giving it a weird look, so he telekinetically pushed it back to the corner from whence it came.

"Is she trying to make her food angry this time?"

"TANGIN-" she thought. Apparently, act did not convince Sky. She just hoped that Iris wouldn't find out either. Suddenly, from the corner of her eye, she saw Sky point at her. "PUT-" she cursed. Mads felt her heartbeat rising. Now, she was trying to calm herself. She thought of the things that she could do. At that moment, she hopde she make herself invisible.

Mads pretended that she wasn't feeling the stare of the two. She stood up and left her table. She was heading for the exit of the canteen. Mads decided that the best way to not involve herself with event further is to leave. She was eagerly looking at the exit and did not see the bucket and the mop moving her way.Madlumay tripped over the bucket. Her head hit the ground hard. The bucket flew to the air and the water it contained fell down straight to Madlumay. She was half conscious when she felt the dirty water hit her.

"Nah, you owe me one. That's better than cleaning it." Iris nonchalantly brushed the suggestion aside. Actually, it wasn't really much of a lie - never did Iris lie - it was just a practical executive decision. "Here's the thing. That blazer was pretty much nearing the expiration date, so to speak. Mess of that sort, I'd have to destroy it anyway to get it out."

She began to eat, paying attention to the boy's attention. It seemed to have turned elsewhere for a bit, and she briefly contemplated the various ways she could ruin his life while he looked somewhere else. When he returned his attention to her she'd thought of four.

Iris stared right back, still not missing a single beat with her meal. "Let's leave it as what I call a 'floating favor'. A 'blank check' might be the term you're familiar with."

"Blank check, right."
Sky began to dig his salads until he heard something hitting the floor, then an awful crash followed by a splash of water.
There was a slight lag before Sky finally registered what had happened.
"Oh, oh, Ohhhhhhhh my go d-" He looked towards the noise and found the girl lying on the floor covered with water and the souls of the damned brave fallen food warriors.

Notto disu shitto agen

He closed his eyes and meditated for a concentration spell.
Then, as if in a trance, he dropped his utensils on his plate and hovered over towards the damsel in distress.
He lifted her body with one hand and with spatial sensing, used the other to lift away and separate the mess that clung on to her all in one sweep. Sky then seated her on a chair next to where he was sitting and went back to putting the bucket/mop combo in the nearby closet.
He hovered back to his chair and looked at the mostly clean person save for the liquids that he can't remove. He closed his eyes and muttered.

"I guess my owes just increased. Neverlucky."

"Ouch!" Mads whimpered. She felt the heat flow through her cheeks. She curled up in embarrassment. Mads thought that lying there would bring more attention to her, so she tried to get up.

She then suddenly felt a force lift her up. She opened her eyes, but her vision was still blurry. She closed her eyes again. Her head still throbbed with pain. The movement of the scraps of food out of her skin confused her too. "What the hell is happening?" she thought. She opened her eyes and saw the guy whom she helped earlier. She was now seated beside him. Mads eyebrows met in confusion. "I must have hit my head really hard" she said. She covered her face with both of her hands and closed her eyes. She breathed deeply. The odor of cafeteria food and water filled her nose. She removed her hands away from her face and opened her eyes once again. "Aaaaaaah, shit" she thought. She deduced that this boy helped him get up. She covered her face again in embarrassment.
