Salal had tried living in the city, and it had really not worked for her. The smoke and dust really made her nose itch and burn, the constant chatter of people made her ears ring and having to be in a small room surrounded on all sides by other small rooms that had other people in them had made Salal feel...stuffed. Stuck, driven into corner. The bear inside her had been suffering. So Salal had quickly rented a cabin away from the main town area, half a mile from the forest. This place was perfect; there was space on all sides, the air was clearer and Salal could go to the forest whenever she wished and work wasn't far away, since Salal could run pretty fast when she wanted to. Yes, it got a little bit lonely, but Salal occasionally chatted with the farmers and Yvarn came to visit. And hopefully someone else too, judging from what Konpeito had said at the community center.
Salal stood on the front yard of her cabin, watering her narcissus flowers and tulips. She had planted them not too long after moving, Salal wanted spring flowers to bloom under her window as soon as possible. The flowers would really brighten up her humble log cabin made from pine and bricks.
It was the weekend, and Salal didn't work on weekends. Gardens needed tending, but so did Salal's spirit. Saturday's and Sundays were the days when she just breathed, got lazy and enjoyed her favourite things. One of which was flowers. And company, whenever she could get it.
Hopefully today she would.
