Shul hadn't noticed the tear before Sark mentioned it. And when he did Shul's serious expression was broken by confusion for a second. He lifted his free hand to his cheek a bit, accidentally smearing little sand to his face. Shul felt the small wet spot and blushed a bit. But he also chuckled silently and smiled at Sark.
"If you made me cry it just means I care. You don't need to apologize."
Shul lowered the hand back onto the sand, leaving the sand smudge on his cheek. He hadn't noticed it.

When Sark thanked him Shul breathed out a small, relieved sigh. He was happy he had been able to help, to protect Sark. Shul smiled at him bit more widely and pat Sark's arm with the hand that kept him grounded.
"I'm here to listen anytime you need me, friend. I promise."
Shul adjusted his position and was keeping his teeth from clattering with pure willpower. Now that they had stopped the cold was getting to him. But if Sark needed more time then Shul wasn't going anywhere and would not let Sark see how cold he was.

Sark watched Shul and started laughing. He sounded a lot better now as he laughed. “You’ve got a little something there.” He snickered a little bit as he gestured to the smeared sand on Shul’s face. “Here, let me get that.” He leaned forward and whiped the sand off of Shul’s face. His hands were slightly shakey still but were a lot steadier and gentle. “There we go, no more sand.”

He slapped his hands on his knees. “Right, let’s carry on!” He jumped up from where he sat. He extended a hand for Shul to grab so Sark could pull him up. He genuinely did feel a bit better, as whenever he calmed down after a lapse, it would quickly fade from thought. Going back to how he usually acts is the best way for him to feel happy. “Let’s not dwell about with the gloom and doom. Besides, you’re probably getting cold.” He chuckled a little bit.

Shul got a little confused again when Sark gestured to his face, pointing put the sand. Shul muttered 'shit' under his breath and snickered a bit as he was about to wipe it off. But Sark was faster and gently wiped the sand off. It made Shul a bit flustered but he made a notion that Sark's hands were still a bit shaky.
Shul laughed and slapped Sark's shoulder lightly.
"What am I, a child? But thanks."
Shul laughed a bit, embarrassed, and dusted off the sand from his hands. Wouldn't want this happening again.

Shul grinned and took the hand Sark offered him, noting that he was back to the way he had been before. Shul knew bottling it up wasn't good but having a breakdown on a public beach wasn't good either. So Shul went along, being his normal, cheery self.
"Me? Cold? No way! Where did you get that idea?"
Shul laughed as he pulled out the flask from his pocket. It was still warm enough and Shul wrapped his hands around it. He let his teeth clatter just a little bit.

Sark laughed a little bit. “Aren’t we all children?” He sounded really contemplative as he looked into the distance. He then laughed as he shook his head. “No... it’s not really childish. It’s just seems pretty you. In a good way.” He sideway glanced at Shul with a slight tilt upwards with his head.

Sark laughed some more as he gently punched Shul’s arm. “Well, seeing how you’re still treating the hot chocolate as a coveted holy relic...” He held his helmet like he has done before, nodding as he spoke. He laughed a little bit. “Glad you still like the chocolate goodness.” He sounded just a tiny bit smug.

"Hot chocolate making master, comedic genius and a poet. Man of many sides, I see."
Shul chuckled and emptied the flask. It would probably stay warm for a few minutes more.
"And I know I can be pretty childish. But I can be many other things too. You're not the only one with many sides. And you haven't even seen half of mine."
Shul smiled little michivieously at Sark as walked along, trying to keep moving.

Shul noticed the smug note in Sark's voice and looked at him, amused.
"Unfortunately my holy relic has reached it's end."
Shul snickered and shook the empty flask.
"Why am I even still here? I came here bribed by the hot chocolate. But now my life has no more meaning."
Shul raised his other hand to his chest, sounding and looking all dramatic.
"Now I know how you felt when I destroyed your life's meaning by denying you of teaching me how to swim."

Sark casually shrugged as he tilted his a bit to the side. “I try Shul, I really try. Gotta be perfect, my friend!” He laughed, sounding super full of himself. He then looked at Shul. From how he lowered his head slightly and leaned a bit, you could guess he was doing his form of a squint. “Is that a challenge? That sounds like a challenge, and I ain’t one to back down from a challenge.” He chuckled as he rubbed his hands together. He loved a good challenge.

Sark put a hand to helmet like he was covering his mouth in shock. “Oh no!” He had a dramatically devastated sounding voice. His hand drops again as he does that squint look again. “Are you gonna leave me now?” He sounded suspicious as he stared at Shul. There was a light joking tone beneath the suspicion though.

He laughed a little bit as he continued walking. He suddenly pointed at Shul. “I haven’t let that go, by the way! I still plan to teach you how to swim!” He sounded extremely determined as he clenched a fist, looking towards the ocean.

Shul shook his head looking all wise and all-knowing and tapped his finger to Sark's chest.
"No one is perfect, young man. Not even a robot AI from outer space."
Shul chuckled and absently picked up a rock and threw it into the water. It didn't fly that far away but Shul had expected that. He turned to look at Sark looking all innocent when Sark accused Shul of challenging him.
"I would never challenge you, oh almighty creator of best chocolate. How could you accuse me of such a thing."
Shul did his best to maintain the innocent and hurt look but his lips quivered and he let out a small laugh.

Shul took a contemplating expression and lifted his hand to his chin. He looked Sark from head to toe and smirked a bit, smugly.
"If you so insist I can accompany you for a while longer."
Shul checked his nails trying to look all high and mighty but it didn't work that well with the amused grin he had on. Then he turned away and cackled pseudo evilly, muttering to himself.
"He has stepped right into my plan. Perfect."

Shul lifted his hands up when Sark pointed at him and laughed but it soon turned into genuine surprise.
"You haven't? You seriously want to teach me how to swim? Why on earth?"

Sark scoffs, walking like an absolute diva for a while. “You just don’t know perfection when you see it, Shul.” He was doing a overconfident voice as he strutted his stuff. He casually laughed. He then firmly nodded at Shul. “Damn right you don’t chalkenge me.” He had a bit of a pouty voice as he grumpily crossed his arms.

He gasps, recoiling away front Shul. “How could you betray me like this!” He sounded shocked and sad at the same time. He held his hand to his chest, clutching it. “I can’t... believe...” He reached his other hand to the sky tragically. Laughs and lowers arms.

He looked at Shul, seeming more serious. “It’s because I love swimming. I feel so free while swimming and I want you to at least try it. Even if you hate it and never want to do it again, there’s always that chance you love it as much as me.” He sounded completely honest and sincere. He truly wanted to teach Shul how to swim because of his own love for it.

Shul laughed at Sark's diva walk and held his sides. Somehow Sark looked so ridiculous but at the same time it weirdly fit him.
"Sark, don't let your head go too far up your ass. Being a diva doesn't suit you. I won't say you're perfect but I will say you're pretty close."
Shul smiled soothingly at Sark, his intention to make peace. But with Sark's next words his smile turned sneaky.
"And what if I say it was a challenge?"
Shul patted Sark's helmet where he thought the cheek would be.
"Because I have a deceitful side as well."

Now it was Shul's turn to look smug. He looked to Sark along his nose and did a diva laugh.
"I told you my personality can be lethal if I will it."
Shul formed the gun with his fingers again and shot Sark into the chest.
"And now you have fallen right into my trap called friendship."

Shul looked surprised for a second more but then a gentle smile formed on his face.
"You did pretty good job with making me love the beach. Kaybe I'll believe your word this time around. So, when are you gonna teach me? I'm ready to learn!"
Shul made fists from his hands and looked determined, grinning.

Sark dramatically gasped as he stopped abruptly in his tracks. He struck an extremely dramatic pose. “It suits me just fine! You blind.” He spoke with the most dramatic of voice as he looked away from Shul dismissively. He then tilted his head a little bit as he looked at Shul. “Oh, if it was a chalkenge, the consequences will be strong.” He sounded sweet and kind as he said this, implying his tilted head was a sweet smile.

He recoiled away, clutching where he was shot again. “Nooooo. I caaaaan’t... live with the sincerity!” He fell to his knees, still clutching. He stands up with a brief laugh.

Sark held his helmet once again. He looked at Shul with a shrug. “Well... I was thinking we could go to an indoor pool at some point. They’re warmer, so you won’t get sick.” He sounded casual, but he really cared for Shul to not get sick.
