"A list of contacts can be arranged, though some of them may be reluctant to talk to anyone outside the Del Bosque family," she told Asteria very truthfully, "But we will cross that bridge, when and if, we need to. No use in borrowing trouble, if there is none..." Zora said.

"And discretion is a big thing on my part," Zoraida said her tone now very serious. "Dealings like yours and what you are looking for are not run of the mill acquisitions where a few phone calls are made, a meeting is arranged and it's done," she said. "I think a few favours will need to be called in as well as some magical contracts made," she mused.

"Yes, I agree," Zora said as she poured them both some more champagne emptying the bottle just as the dessert tasting menu came out with all the desserts cut up in pretty little bite-sized pieces in foil cups so the women didn't have to worry about getting dirty or getting their hands excessively messy.

"It seriously has been a good while since I've been able to relax and just enjoy a moment." she told Asteria as she eyed a dessert that had a candied walnut piece on top.

"That's fine, darling. I'm not worried about your sources meeting with me. I just need to know their sources. I'm trying to backtrack to certain individuals, so don't fret on that." Asteria smiled, her grin growing wider as the desserts were displayed before the two women. Having these cut up and prepared so nicely was honestly the cherry on top, although having actual cherries dipped in very fine dark chocolate would arguably be the actual cherry.

"Magical contracts are easy. I'll be honest, if it takes an anonymous financial donation or some ridiculous artifact built for them, just let me know and I'll see what I can arrange. The less my name is getting around, the better for all of us. But, for now, let us enjoy the moment. And by 'moment', I'm thinking that bite of tiramisu." Asteria picked up the small bite sized piece of the layered coffee dessert and quickly plopped it into her mouth with a smirk.

"Don't worry, we can worry about that, if and when it happens," Zora said. "You never know with contacts. They may just require a favour in return, or a monetary recompensation. Who knows?" she remarked with the air of one that was not too worried about that for the moment. It was a "cross that bridge when we get there" situation and Zora knew that it was better to wait and see.

"Tiramisu, a very good choice indeed," she grinned, "I think I am going to try this one... it looks like it might be a French meringue cookie," Zora said as she chose a light pink scalloped tidbit. "Light, fluffy and sweet," she said as she bit into it and savored the delicate meringue.

"God, I love meringue," she confessed, "Meringues, like mint ones, covered in dark chocolate, just so heavenly..." she stated as she took a sip of her champagne, wondering about Asteria as she looked at her curiously.

"You've moved back to the island recently? How has that been?" Zora asked as she licked the stickiness off a finger.

Asteria couldn't help but smile at Zora's reaction to trying some of the desserts. They were quite delicious, to be sure, but the woman across from her really enjoyed them. Maybe it was their difference in age. Asteria had already had so many of life's delicacies that enjoying the little things had become difficult as of late. Her main focus had now been people. People were unique so they didn't lose their luster as easily compared to fine alcohol or delicious delicacies. At the question regarding returning to the island, Asteria gave a small sigh.

"It's always difficult. Don't get me wrong, I do love the island and it will always be my home, but it has lost some of its charm. I've been alive for a very long time, Miss Del Bosque. I enjoy travelling the world, learning new things. But with technology on the rise, it's difficult for an immortal to be out and about and avoid getting outed as such. Sure, we have illusions and charms and who knows what else. But it only lasts so long."

She let out another sigh, but took a took a sip of her champagne and continued. "On the positive, however, being a mother has its charm. I enjoy the familial bonding and the work. It's not like I can even have children so adoption has been good."

"I know what you mean about things losing their charm after a while... sometimes progress or just expansion makes a place lose what once made it charming or homey." she agreed as she took a sip of her champagne.

"My aunt is a firm believer in adoption. She adopted three children this year, all from different backgrounds and with very different needs," Zora explained as she pondered which dessert to try next. "I admire her for it too. I am not sure I could do that, adopt three at a time..." she said thinking Celeste was an amazing person.

"How did you come across Exra if you don't mind me asking?" Zora enquired as she finally decided on something with whipped cream or icing on it.

"Adoption is a lot of work but quite rewarding. You learn how to adapt to a child who already was raised a certain way before they met you. But they're all special and worthy of love. I would adopt more if I could, but I need work to settle down first before I can 'retire' for a time to raise a child."

At the mention of Ezra's origin, Asteria said nothing for a long moment. She quietly took a sip of her mimosa before continuing. "It's a bit of a story and rather complex. The shortened version is I found them in their homeland, alone without any of their kind around. They were waiting for their clan to return, but I had a feeling they weren't going to."

"So I stayed with Ezra for a year, gave them their name, and eventually convinced them to come with me to the island while I researched more about their origin and what happened to the rest of Ezra's people."
She gave a small sigh, picking up another dessert that had some sort of strawberry jam layered within. Plopping the bite sized dessert into her mouth, she hummed softly.

"I do understand that and wholeheartedly agree." Zoraida murmured as she listened to Asteria talk about children being raised by others and immediately began thinking about her own son and how he had been raised by others too.

"That is very commendable," Zora said truthfully when she heard the story behind how Asteria had come across Ezra took care of him and finally convinced him to come and live with her here on Manta Carlos.

"He's lucky to have you, and I'm going to guess that he has made your life better too," she observed, remembering how happy the children had made Celeste and how she still seemed today.

"Ezra certainly has made my life more interesting, to be sure. They're a good kid, but it isn't without challenges." Asteria hummed, resting her hands in her lap. "I working with a teenager who has the mind of a small child. Every experience is new, life is unique for them. They have the maturity of an adult but not the nuances that come with it."

She couldn't help but chuckle, thinking of the many awkward questions she's had to answer since taking Ezra under her wing. Asteria was definitely curious about the woman in front of her, to be sure. There was something there that reminded her of herself in a way, but she couldn't quite place it.

"How about you, Miss Del Bosque? Are you born and raised on the island? Or are you more like, finding your way as you please?"

Zora just grinned when Asteria mentioned Ezra's very inquisitive mind, having been on the receiving end of his questioning more than a few times, she completely understood where she was coming from.

"I wasn't born on the island, on," Zora said shaking her head, "I am a transplant of sorts. My company needed new headquarters, a place where we could consolidate everything between the Narrow Reality and places like Manta Carlos..." she explained to Asteria as she fiddled with the champagne glass stem.

"I was actually born in Spain, spent my school years abroad and since then, I've lived in quite a few places," she said with a smile. "So, yes, I guess I have been finding my way." she surmised having never really considered this before now.

"Ah, Spain. Such a beautiful country." Asteria hummed, taking a sip from her glass before setting it down on the table. <"Do you speak Spanish, Miss Del Bosque?"> The witch asked fluently, giving the woman a small grin. Before she could ask more, however, a gentle melody began resonating from under the table. With a furrowed brow, she reached down and pulled out her cell phone which had begun to ring louder.

"Apologies, one moment."

She quickly pressed 'accept' on the screen before putting it to her ear. "Hello, dear. Is everything alright? You don't usually call me unless it's an emergency." There was a pause, as a somewhat familiar monotone voice seemed to respond to Asteria's question. "...I see. Well, I will be on the way as soon as I can. I'm at a business lunch with Miss Del Bosque." There was another pause and a few more words hummed into the redhead's ear. "Alright, I will. See you soon."

Asteria quietly hung up the phone before sliding the phone into her purse and pulling out a sleek black credit card. "I'm afraid that I must cut our lunch short. Ezra has informed me that I received an important parcel that requires my immediate attention. Normally, I wouldn't worry, but the fact that they called me is a sign that it's probably something that requires full attention. And if it's from who I think it is, I suspect that he will not wait and will begin escalating his need for my attention."

She set the credit card down on the table and waved their waiter over. "But we should do this again, Miss Del Bosque. It has been quite nice to have someone to just... discuss things with. Oh! Before I forget, Ezra says hello. I feel they would be disappointed if I didn't pass that along as well."
