Galen cracked a wry grin at her reluctant refusal. "If you're sure..." He shrugged lightly, too tired to insist. "Jus' remember that I'm not gonna heal you if you pass out. You'll have to deal with it the old fashioned way." He was smiling, but the meaning was serious - he was too drained to help her, and he was worried about what would happen if she passed out or fell asleep.
He inclined a black gloved hand towards himself, bringing to attention in one gesture his wings, his long white hair, the thin scars that were etched across his face. "Think I know somethin' about judging books by their covers," he said, voice blank and quiet. "I'll be careful around him. If you say you saw him kill someone, an' he doesn't feel remorse about it, I believe you. I just..." He sighed, gaze drifting unfocused across the dark hallway. "I know it's stupid - and probably dangerous -, but I don't want to judge him without knowing his motives. I've had plenty of experience with people looking at me and thinkin' they know me, thinkin' that what I did was wrong, that they'd have acted differently. And I don't want to do that to Cole - to anyone."
