When the elevator doors opened Alex was standing there, in a pair of grey sweatpants and sweatshirt with a light blue shirt on under it, and she was humming some song. She wasn’t sure what it was, or where she heard it at but it had been stuck in her head all day, it was insufferably catchy like that. Stepping out of the elevator she walked down the hall, her footsteps and echoing down the empty hallways. Glancing at the numbers stenciled on the windows of the doors, 301, 302, 303 as she walked. It was midnight and she couldn’t believe she was up here at this hour, and doing what she was doing. Even more ridiculous was the person she was doing this for.
309. She paused at that door, briefly stopping her humming as she tried to open the door, it was locked. That didn’t make any sense, Alex thought, these rooms are never locked. Peering through the glass on the door Alex couldn’t see anyone inside, just a darkened classroom filled with dusty unused desk with chairs stacked on top of them. Alex sighed and stepped back to the other side of the hall and with her hand outstretched she began to concentrate. After a few seconds of straining in which it appeared nothing was happening a lounge metallic popping sound suddenly echoed down the hall and Alex fell on her knees panting.
After a few minutes of resting there on the ground Alex finally pulled herself back up off the ground and walked back to the door to survey what she had done. The doorknob and lock had been completely ripped off the hinges, she couldn’t’ believe she did that; she defiantly over did it just a little bit there. Walking into the classroom and on the lights. The room smelled stale and full of dust, no one had defiantly been in the room for years. Walking over the desk at the front room where the teacher would sit she wiped off a section of dust and set down on it, she sighed as she noticed her feet dangling above the floor. With a massive yawn she cursed herself for being out this late and not in bed asleep where every halfway sane person in this school was right now. Glancing over at the door she waited. Any minute now the Galen and Cole should show up at they could get this over with as fast as possible and she could finally get to sleep.
