Handling the swarm of Rosales children was something Angelo had thought he was, at least in general terms, prepared for. He wasn't. Even though he'd checked a million lists and done his best to keep track of all of them, there were still things that popped up out of nowhere, reminding him that he was woefully unprepared.
Things like bread.
Bread shouldn't have been an issue--it was just bread--but it turned out that making sandwiches for so many people too a lot of bread. He'd made three stacks of sandwiches before being forced to quit the house, heading into town to pick up some more.
It was exhausting, and it had been Angelo's reality for two and a half weeks.
He really, really needed a nap.
It was easy enough to find a bakery--hopefully the kind with a lot of bread--and Angelo let himself in, adjusting his shirt and wishing (not for the first time) that he was on duty, running around in a uniform. Catching crooks had been easy by comparison.
"Morning!" He called, blissfully unaware that it was six AM and he was almost certainly the first customer of the day.
