"Oh? I've seen these patterns around, is all." He had to admit that he was downplaying his ability quite a bit to be even more showy, but that was more or less the truth. He didn't mind how he was coming across at all. "I've had these tricks up my sleeve for a while, so I've had a lot of time to play around with it when I got bored or whatever." As an added touch, spikes shot out of the 'shield' at places where patterns were absent.

He turned his head to where Mizuko was looking. Outside, he'd definitely be able to show her more tricks without holding back as much.
"Sure. Outside it is!" He shrunk the shield and blade a little to make the move outside less clumsy and awkward, before they went.

After they got outside, He noticed Mizuko cut ahead to find a place for them to continue. He followed until they reached an empty lot just outside the building. "Yeah, this place is good." Now that they were in a much wider space, he had more room to move with his transformations. After a moment he came up with something else to show her.

"Now that we have a lot more room to move, I can do stuff like this." With a smirk, he transformed the blade back to a hand. He extended that arm a couple of metres away from them both and set the tips of his fingers, which had taken a smoother shape, on the ground. A few more smooth appendages emerged, so that they were all around the hand, and their bases were also set on the ground. A thick 'stem' sprouted from the side of his hand facing upwards, and grew until it reached Tanau's eye level. Dozens more appendages sprouted from the stem, forming hexagonal shapes that connected to make a large sphere.

Tanau wasn't fazed one bit at Mizuko's reaction to his newest great creation... At least, that's what his body language and face were saying. In truth, he was a bit taken aback, if just because this was different to the way she reacted to all his other transformations. Which was understandable, though. All his other transformations (like the blade) had been cool, well-known stuff, but was vastly different to anything he'd shown anyone before. He just saw this on the internet one day and decided to practice copying it.

He quickly regained his composure, and with a smirk, answered her question.
"This? Well, 'round thing' is actually a pretty appropriate way to describe it since I don't really know what to call it myself. Basically it's a bunch of patterns that, together, are positioned in such a way that they form a round thing. I recently mastered it after seeing it on the internet last month."
