It was undoubtedly heartbreaking to see her so repulsed by his power. Félix was not surprised, but he did cry in his mind as the tendril uncurled from Nerina. It vanished into the morning light, leaving nothing but Félix and Nerina again.

“It's... okay,” Félix lied. His eyes were sunken, drawn to the water underneath his feet rather than the beautiful girl beside him. He expected most people to react like her, but it still made him unhappy. Especially since he thought, just maybe, the two of them could have a special connection. It was selfish to think of it, since she was Eric's girlfriend and he Konishi's boyfriend.

“I'm sorry. I should have given you more warning,” Félix rested his hand on Nerina's, trying to comfort her. “I have another power, but I don't dare use it. It's too monstrous.” Félix frowned, “I am a monster.”

She interlocked her fingers with Félix. She didn't want to hug him or hold him close. How could two brothers be so different from one another? Since she was with Eric, she favoured him, but the earlier feeling she held of wanting to understand Félix and be close to him lingered within her. She finally found him. She didn't want to be scared of him.

"Too monstrous?" Nerina asked. She couldn't help but be curious – what was more dangerous and fearsome than those black tentacles from earlier? "Y-You're not a monster," she reassured. She stroked his arm up and down, hoping that he wouldn't be cold like this.

"A monster isn't like you. You're too kind. You did save me, after all. You helped me cook, even clean a little." She smiled pleasantly. It was exactly the descriptors that Konishi would not have wanted to hear about Félix, as someone who she took as a protége for the purpose of unleashing destruction and devestation upon others.

It was weird to hear her object to Félix being a monster, after being so frightened by his tendrils. He wouldn't dare show her what he could do with his voice, as it would almost certainly make her think he was a monster. He did take some solace, however, in knowing that even if she was frightened a little by his form she did not think any less of him.

“Thanks,” Félix smiled. He wasn't entirely convinced, but feeling her fingers in between his did make him feel comfortable next to her. He wasn't about to run away at least. A part of him wanted to be closer, but he knew it was impossible. This was as close as they could be, and perhaps already too much. But neither Eric nor Konishi were here, so he would take advantage of what moments they had.

“I'm glad I finally met you, Nerina,” Félix said. “I wish... we had met earlier,” he squeezed her hand gently and looked down at the pool of water. At least they could be friends, for now.

She did not want him to be sad.

Her hand touched the side of his face, directing it back to her own face. Even though she wished him all the happiness in the world, she too, was sad, and she could not hide it on her face.

Nerina gently kissed him on the cheek. The idea itself seemed chaste enough, but the act was charged with emotion and a certain kind of tension of being pulled to different people other than themselves. She wanted to kiss his lips, to see if they felt different from Eric's. Eric's lips were like a cherubic, sensuous pout. Félix's lips were straighter, thinner and pale.

She broke away from the kiss on the cheek.

"Come visit me again sometime. I'm in my house in the very early morning."

He wanted to kiss her proper. He was sorely tempted. However, Félix would honour his brother and his own relationship. His own respect would mean nothing if he could not at least manage that. So, he returned the kiss on her cheek and broke his hand away from her.

“I will,” Félix promised. He could not take Nerina as a lover, but they could still be friends for now. Maybe time would change their circumstances, or maybe it would never come to be, but they at least could share a little bit of their lives with one another.

“It's getting sunnier. I should... probably get back home,” Félix blushed a little, making note of his lack of clothes. He earnestly hoped they were where he left them and not taken by some opportunistic early bird. On the other hand, maybe he wouldn't mind. He could spend the rest of the day hiding with Nerina.

“I will see you again soon,” Félix bid her goodbye.
