Wesker sat alone at a table for four in the small cafe, calmly awaiting for his guest to arrive. He had dressed up just a tad for the occasion, since it wasn't at a time where he would be involved with any further classes. A black corduroy jacket draped over his shoulders, the front left open over a white button-up. The shirt was tucked in to a pair of black slacks held in place by a leather belt, and the whole thing fell down to a pair of black oxfords, and of course, his gloves. The entire outfit was pristinely smooth, and any wrinkles that marred the fabric were only through for the sake of movement.

A glass of a black tea sat steaming in front of him on the table, as well as half of a sandwich and some fries. It wasn't a full meal, just something to compliment the tea, He would of course provide the same should his guests desire it.

And so there he waited, hands folded in front of him, perpetual smile plastered on his face, patiently awaiting the arrival of his 'friends'...

Le-kzen clutched the letter in her hand and walked through the dark, foggy streets of the shadier streets of Manta Carlos with her black coat's collar pulled up to hide her face. She was wearing a different getup than her usual. She didn't look like a child or a bubbly teenager. No, there was no need for tricks. She was clad in a black dress with heels so high and sharp it should be a warning to everyone around her that this girl was a black widow spider.

She knew what this was. A business proposal. This kid wanted to gauge if she was a friend or an enemy, but he underestimated who he was talking to. Le-kzen has played this game many, many times with drow far bigger and more intimidating with this child, and she always came out on top.

As she stepped into the cafe, the cool, night air and sharp street lights were replaced with a pleasant warm air and dim lighting. She removed her coat and placed it on the coat rack, never breaking eye contact with Wesker as she took the seat in front of him.

"Talk."

Wesker was of course facing the door, and watching for his guest. He gave a wave to Zen as she stepped in and removed her coat, his eyes taking a moment to scan over her outfit. He wasn't really surprised by her manner of dress, but he had expected her to maintain a little of her persona. Still, she had come alone, so her suspicion only served to amuse him if anything.

He stood from his seat and gave Zen a slight bow, sitting down and taking a sip of his tea as she addressed him. A slight pause proceeded his voice as he finished his sip. "You're not even going to order anything, Miss Ta'driz? I did promise to cover the bill." He paused once again, pressing his gloved fingers together in front of him.

Wesker carefully calculated his words. It didn't matter if he come out 'on top' so to speak as long as he got what he wanted. A recluse was much more subtle then a black widow, after all. "I was hoping you could shed some light on the more basic premise of magic. I understand a lot of fantasy writing simplifies it in many ways, manipulating a weave or pulling out the elements around you, but of course I have no way to separate the wheat from the chaff with that method."

He gestured at Zen seated in front of him. "I believe that this knowledge would assist me with my studies, I understand you have some amount of experience and might be able to sate my curiosity. I would of course owe you something for tutoring me in such a way." His smile widened the tiniest bit as he observed her, awaiting her reaction.

Le-kzen crossed her arms and looked him over, the red color of her eyes so much more intimidating as they glowed faintly absorbing light. As she got comfortable in her seat, she smelled cigarette smoke and coffee in the room.

"I'm not interested in playing games with you. You want to learn about magic? I'm not a teacher. Pick up a damn book." She pulled out his letter from her purse and threw it across the table. She leaned forward and met him eye to eye, the blood red glint in her eyes still present. "What do you want from me, Wesker? What's your angle?"

Wesker pressed a hand to his chest in an over dramatic fashion. "Not interested in playing with me? I'm hurt Miss Ta'driz." He then brought the hand back out in front of him, raising the index finger for a moment to accent his point before folding his hands together again. "You see, a teacher would try to instruct me and force their own idioms on me. Since I only require a recommendation for which literature to examine, a student is perfect."

Wesker caught the letter as it was tossed and took a moment to examine it, before dismissing it again. He met her gaze, steely eyes set into his grinning mask. "What I want from you is a trade. Information for a favor. Is that so difficult? You seem to trust me enough, or rather, expect you can handle me yourself, so it shouldn't be a matter of my word that's the problem..."

His smile widened ever so slightly, chiseling across his face a few more millimeters. "My angle? I'm honestly not entirely sure yet. Perhaps I'll tell you if you ask again later."

In almost every situation, Le-kzen was looking to profit, and the fact that Wesker mentioned a favor made her notice this immediately. Still, she was no insect caught in a spider's web. Her paranoia began to act out as she considered all the possibilities of him using this knowledge to destroy her.

She would just have to bury him in misinformation, then.

She leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms. "If I explain how magic worked to you... What kind of favor would I receive? How would I even know you'd be true to your word?"

Wesker's smile widened slightly. He was slowly getting through her shell, getting to what he wanted. He didn't expect her to to just fly into the net of course. No, she was just as deadly as himself, which is the major reason he'd decided on this plan of attack. Misinformation was always a risk, and Wesker was expecting that as well. Research was going to happen, but only after she had given him something to go on.

Weser shrugged at her questions. "The details will be largely up to you. Information you need, or perhaps a task accomplished. I will expect a more or less fair trade for the information, but I'm a reasonable man." He leaned back in his chair a little bit, the ever present grin beaming at the drow across from him. "As for my word, well, I am the head of the I&A club. If I so casually shrugged off a favor such as this it would affect my reputation, and I think we both know that in business we live and die by our reputations, yes?"

"Yes..." She said carefully. She checked his face, but she knew it wasn't a lie. It was basic knowledge when handling transactions. Most people would rather be true to their word than risk their reputation. Luckily for Le-kzen, she was still building her reputation. "You want to know about magic? Fine."

She placed her hands on the table, locking her fingers together.

"Magic is dependent on incantations. Words are associated with certain elements, and should you mix your energy with the power of the word, it would successfully transform into magic," she said. It wasn't a complete lie. There were some magic that were dependent on vocal speech... but not hers. "Any questions?"

Wesker's smile widened at just the fact he'd gotten her talking straight, even if it might be a lie. A small victory sure, but a victory all the same.

"Yes just one." He leaned forward again, holding up a finger as if making a point. "If an incantation is required why didn't you use one?" He honestly wasn't entirely sure she had used a spell back in Vlad's class, all he knew was that Vlad hadn't been as convinced that Zen didn't need to be in class as he had been.

Calling a bluff with a bluff of your own was nothing new in the game, and Wesker was fairly sure of himself. He could only hope that Zen's paranoia would work against her in this situation, if she managed to counter, he'd have to fold and take what he'd already scavenged.
