Daniel sighed happily as he sat at a small table in the schools large library. He was towards the back, just like he liked it. Made it harder for people to read over his shoulder. He smiled as he flipped the page in his book, an old Star Wars Novel. He had read it a few times in the past, but not recently.

He was feeling secure in his corner, a small stack of books in front of him like a small wall. Though, it did make it difficult to see anyone walking up to him...If they were short enough it could be like they were invisible.

Cheeto had slipped off to the library. It was one of the few places where she could feel truly alone. There were times where she wanted to feel solitude, though since meeting Chloe those times had grown fewer and further between. There was someone... sitting by the table she used to sit by. He had a Star Wars book too, it had been so long since she'd even thought about star wars.

With a little reservation, Cheeto walked up to the person, a guy by the looks of it, thumbing through the book, captivated by it completely. Cheeto knew that feeling so well, being immersed in a world so different from her own. Even with such wonders around her, the desire to delve into a storybook world was inescapable. "Which one is it?" She pulled up a seat next to the reader, striking up a conversation.

Daniel glanced up when he heard someone pull up a chair. He glanced idly over to see a short girl sitting down next to him. He smiled, hearing the question. He marked his place with a small paper bookmark, and set the book down on the table, turning his attention to the girl.

"The novelization of Empire Strikes Back, one of my favorites." He said quietly. They were in a library after all. It was always nice to be able to talk about books with a new companion.

"Oh nice." Cheeto smiled a bit, scooting her chair a little closer and tilting her head. "Though I didn't like how Disney threw out all the previous lore and expanded universe stuff." Cheeto didn't even notice how her hand had outstretched, a beam of light extending from her palm and forming a grasping appendage. The beam bent and contorted like a ribbon twisting around obstacles. It reached out until it found the sci-fi section. Cheeto knew it by memory, grabbing her favorite few Star Wars novels and bringing them along, a conveyor of light grabbing and returning the books like a laundry line.

"Ever read Planet of Twilight?" She held out the book, one of her favorites.

Daniel nodded. "Yeah. It's a little silly. After all the work people put into the expanded universe...to just snuff it out...like...that..." Daniel trailed off as he watched the beam of light extend from Cheetos palm. The boy watched enthralled as the beam brought the books over, the light glow keeping his attention until Cheeto spoke again. Daniel shook his head to snap out of it and nodded.

"Once, a while back. It's been a long time though...That was really cool though." He complimented, smiling.

Cheeto opened the book, smiling as she started reading. "It was one of the first books I read when I got here, not counting school books." She remembered how quickly she got into Star Wars, how the lore was so interesting to her. There was more to it than that, it was the first taste of 'nerd culture' for her, and it started her down the path of science fiction and fantasy that she loved so dearly today.

It was also one of the books where she could pick it up and reread it again and again, despite having pretty much memorized the book to begin with. "I'm Cheeto, by the way." She thought she sounded a bit like her sister as she said those words, though hoped she didn't. Her sister made friends in a way very, very different from how Cheeto usually did.

The taller boy adjusted his glasses, pushing them up on his nose. He smiled, nodding. "A pleasure to meet someone who appreciates the finer things in life. I'm Daniel, but you can call me Danny if you want."

A glance back at the light bringing books back got Daniel to rise, moving over to simply touch the the light, finding it solid. "This is really cool, Cheeto. Hard-Light? Right out of Sci-fi. You're a real life Jedi with this." He chuckled, returning to his seat.

Cheeto smiled, her power was a point of pride for her. The light construct seemed to recede into a small mote and puff out of existence. "It's nice to meet you too, Danny, though..." a new one emerging from her other hand, forming a small 'zorro' mask over her eyes as she gave him a small smile. "I find my powers to be more Green Lantern than Luke Skywalker." The mask disappeared too, and the little goblin leaned forward on the table a bit, still looking at Daniel next to her.

"Watch out for my sister though... She looks just like me but with orange hair, and she uses the Jedi Mind Trick in all the wrong ways." She looked at some of the books she grabbed, blanching as she realized she grabbed the paperback version of Wrath of Khan along with the others, hastily pushing another book on top of it as she spoke again. "Mind if I ask what you can do? I mean... People who come to the Academy usually can do things."

The taller boy nodded, laughing at the mask. "That was a nice touch." It was too, and the small goblin did have a point. His eyes widened as she gave him the warning.

"Jedi Mind Trick...? I assume that means mind control, yeah? Does the whole 'Only works on weak minds' thing apply still?" He asked, watching her grab a book, before putting it aside. "My power...? It's easier to show than explain. And since we were talking Star Wars..."

Daniel grabbed his book and flipped open to a certain page, before spreading it out on the table. "Watch this." Was all he said before he stuck his hand into the book, up to about his mid forearm. The ink and the paper seemed to ripple like water as he slowly drew his hand back out. Once his hand had left the book, he was holding a lightsaber. It didn't look like one of the imitation toys..

The metal tube gleamed with an alien sheen, the material glinting in the light. Daniel looked proud of himself, holding the saber. "This is what I can do."

"Oh, her power seems like it'll work on almost anyone... So be extra careful if you do meet her." Cheeto looked like she was going to continue, but was immediately caught off guard when Daniel reached into the book and pulled out the lightsaber. Her jaw practically hit the floor as she stared at it.

"No. Way."

She started to laugh, putting her hands over her mouth lest the librarian shush her. Cheeto could make a facsimile, constructing a working replica out of hard light, she could create a blade that emulated a lightsaber with her power, but it wouldn't be real, it wouldn't be this.

"D-Does it work? Turn it on!"
