But, the pre-teen didn't have much time to think about that, because very suddenly she was alone with Gabriel again and her earlier confidence was somewhat shaken. Shay had come here with a plan, and none of that went accordingly. She had to think on her feet. She wondered if Gabe was more amused or irritated with her? She could work with the first, but the latter would very well put her in a sullen mood. She didn't like to grovel.
Shay rose her chin, portraying confidence she didn't at all feel, and peered into Gabriel's eyes, hoping to read him. She hesitated only a second before sitting on the edge of the lounger, careful not to get any of the remaining fruit punch on her bikini bottoms. It worked. Sitting on the frame of the recliner had her in closer proximity to Gabe than she would have been with the original plan of reclining beside him. She could work with this.
Keeping up with her earlier perky demeanor, Shay said, "never a dull moment at one of your parties, is there?"
Murphy glanced around furtively and stacked his plate with everything within arms reach before slinking back into the crush of bodies dancing and flirting throughout the resort. He wasn't exactly sure WHY people were celebrating but after the fiasco with the bank and another long month before another installment of student aid came in he would be a fool to pass up a potential free meal.
He reached the post where he'd tied Splish and to his dismay found the lead chewed through and tiny reptilian footprints leading out to the sea. Well... shit. She'd probably come back when she was done splashing about or when she got peckish. He looked around again, worried that someone might object to him absconding with a plate of meat and began devouring the food with gusto.

Mikhainon stretched and laid back down on the recliner, resting his cheek on his palm as he watched Shay. He had nothing but amusement now. Really, that was such a cute move to pull. "Not even an adult, and already so naughty?" He chuckled. "I'm pretty sure nobody here's tricked by what you did. I'm impressed. You approached me with your own agenda, and now you have my full attention. Please, talk."

While she certainly wouldn't be giving away what her agenda was, Shay was going to milk this moment for all it was worth. She kept on track, even as her heart fluttered as his calling her naughty. Not an untrue statement at all. She felt like she'd gotten worse over her time with the Rosales, but maybe she'd just gotten more ambitious, and this badness had always been in her with nothing to be directed at.
Without further ado, Shay held the egg-shaped stone out to him. Further inspection would have him realize it seemed shattered? Thousands of tiny shards put together to form this rock.
"I heard people brought you presents to show their appreciation." That wasn't true, not really. It was more a matter of fear, but nevertheless. Some ego stroking would go a long way here. "It's one of the hardest puzzles in the known world, and extremely hard to find." Which meant, very expensive. There was only a few in the world; Shay believed only three. "I saw it, and I thought it'd make the perfect gift for a man as intelligent and impressive as you."
Mikhainon took the rock into his hand. While he didn't know much about the item, he knew enough to know that it was an acceptable gift. He took a few moments to appreciate it before smiling at Shay. "Oh, let's not sugarcoat. It's to pay their respects. And this is a particularly acceptable present. Thank you."
Mikhainon took a moment to study Shay's face. She was no doubt a human child, but he was certain that her affiliations went beyond mortals. That was why she sought Klaus out, and that was why she was here. She had the makings of someone that could be very dangerous if she could manage to live past her teens.
Interesting. He wasn't threatened, no, but he was fascinated. He knew when she was trying to manipulate him, and if she was smart, she'd know he knew. He placed the gift carefully on the side table. "Please, relax. Have a drink." He beckoned a waiter closer and offered Shay a Shirley Temple. "I don't take to children quite often, but I find your presence tolerable. I'm sure you have plenty of questions. Let's hear them."

Brad was running unfashionably late according to his own personal schedule. Business at his shop had run longer than he'd expected it to and now he was running late. The shark man frowned as he moved through the party, sifting through the crowd. In all honesty he was looking for people he knew, but one in particular. His tail swayed as he began sifting through the various scents until he got a whiff of the one he was searching for.
A grin crossed his face as he moved through the crowd, hands in the pockets of his swim trunks. He ordered a drink and slid back outside where he found Aylin, his current lady friend. She was looking all too good good in that bikini.
"Hey there, sorry I'm late. We had a bit of a fiasco at the shop" he moved in and kissed her on the cheek. He was beginning to pick up a few other familiar scents. Now that he was well into the party now. Shay was around somewhere, as well as Gabriel Baltimore. Neither of their presences really surprised him. "So how have you been? Party's pretty hopping."

Aedan wore a gray t-shirt and blue swimming shorts, he wasn't sure why he was here. They say being social was good for PTSD. He took a sip of his water, he'd been trying to cut back on other drinks. He adjusted his sunglasses, first time he had a reason to wear them.
He turned to Veronica with a smile, "It'll be fun...we get to be more social and you'll meet some of my friends." He handed her a bottle of water.
"No need to be scared, stick close to me," he was worried about his scars, they weren't a pretty site. "Some of the people here may seem odd, but there friendly." He took another sip of his water, "and if you ever start feeling uncomfortable just tell me and we'll head out." He gave her a reassuring smile.

Veronica's smile was very forced as she looked around at all of the people that were at the part. Okay, well there weren't that many here yet, but she was prepared for a mob of people. Honestly, she was both excited and nervous at the same time. She was always up for some beach time fun, the swimming, the games, all that jazz. Sure, her skin was so white that she was prone to bake like a sweet potato, even with the best sunscreen, but she didn't care. Veronica would have as much fun for as long as she could.
She was wearing a blue one-piece under a white sundress, and as an attempt to keep the sun out of her face, as well as a way to hide from other people, Veronica had a sun hat. She thought about placing her flower on the sun hat, but she decided to keep it in her purse in case it got lost or something.
"Yeah," Veronica sighed, trying to convince herself more than Aedan that this would be fun for her. "Fun..." She looked around at all the girls wearing bikinis or bikini like swimsuits. It made her somewhat regret her own choice of swimsuit. Veronica doesn't look nearly as confident as this girl.
She was just glad it was covered by the sundress right now. She still felt like a dork, but she thought it was better than her suit.
Veronica nodded at his gesture and made certain to keep an eye on where Aedan would be at all times. She was certain that he'd want to hang out with some of his friends, so she didn't want to keep him from that. "I'm sure they're very friendly." That wasn't the problem. Veronica was the problem. Everything she'd say would be garbage and she'd make a complete doofus of herself. "But, I think I'll be fine. Thank you."

He smiked and nodded, "you like nice by the way," he blushed for a brief second at his own compliment. But he meant it, Aedan tended to look like a bum, clothes didn't mean much to him.
"I'll introduce you to Aylin first, she's really nice." He motioned Veronica to follow, "she'll like you, she'll help make sure we're ok."
He entered the party doing his best to smile through his nerves, occasionally glancing to his side to make sure she was still with him.
He saw Aylin and waved, "Hey Aylin....this is Veronica."

Aylin had been on the deck now, leaning on a railing that over looked the ocean. She had her back to the party while she watched all the people that had started to flood out onto the beach. the bonfires were already burning, throwing flames high into the sky. Nearby someone had brought a frisbee and a game had started up. The boys looked good running back and forth getting competitive. In the water people were swimming or floating Lazily about. Aylin could even see Addy floating a little ways off. A smirk crossed her lips as she thought out loud "catfish."
The lamia flicked out her tongue passively picking up the scents around her. She could smell the smoke from the fires, the salt in the ocean, the fruit flavored drinks, and massive amounts of food. She could even smell the people, though one scent in particular caught her interest as it floated in on a breeze. Bradley Davis had arrived. She turned her head scanning the crowd behind her to see if she could spot him, but to no avail. He may have just arrived. She knew that his own powerful sense of smell would lead him right to her so long as she stayed put, so she turned her gaze back to the ocean view for a few more moments.
After a moment she heard his voice and her smile widened as she turned to lean back on the railing again. "I hope everything is ok." She responded to him as he kissed her cheek. "Oh the party is a blast. I'm almost done my shift for the evening so soon the fun can really begin." The girls were working in shifts to promote the clubs. While they had been banned from having sex for money while at the event, they were supposed to instead chat up the locals, flirt, and advertise the various services they offered.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned back on the railing again pulling him into a hug, which was followed by another kiss , though this one was a little more intimate. "I'm glad you made it."
the embrace would be short lived as a moment later Aedan approached with a woman in tow. he introduced her as Veronica. Aylin smiled as she reached out a hand to the woman in a proper greeting. "Well Hello there. I'm Aylin, and this Is Bradley" She gestured towards the shark man with her. "What do you guys think of the party?"
