Junchi made no hesitation to sit beside the ink-boy. Some of what he said went right over Junchi's head, which only furthered his excitement. Another weird person to learn about and another friend to make. He also found himself enchanted by Tadashi also making air-art. There was a fun, simple kind of surrealness to watching someone draw on the air on this island. It didn't give Junchi a headache like so many other things here.

"I'm a spirit too! An Earth and Water spirit. I was made out of a tree and I can control plants. I don't think I've ever met an Ink tsu-ku-mo-ga-mi before. Or any kind of tsu-ku-mo-ga-mi." Each time Junchi said that word, he had to speak each syllable clearly. Long words were complicated. Long words from a language he was unfamiliar with were worse.

"Do you ever run out of ink because it's part of you?"

"Another yokai then," Yadashi smiled. That explained the magical nature and him being from Japan. "My sisters and I are bakenekos."

He watched carefully as Sumi showed off, though he definitely seemed a little less impressed with the color changing. Mostly because he was only seeing shifting greys. But of course that didnt deter him from sitting down on Sumi's other side. The banana knight collapsing into graphite dust and the leggy mustache scurrying around, doing circles around their feet.

Tadashi covered his mouth to hide a slight giggle at how Junchi was pronouncing the kind of yokai Sumi was and then slid the pencil back behind his ear for the time being. "Kinda funny. I'm an artist yokai too and I'm connected to plants now too. Kind of the perfect people to hang out with right now, I guess," he laughed openly that time. He was curious though about the answer to Junchi's question- did the ink yokai run out at some point?

"Me neither, although truth is I've not seen another spirit like us before.", having to instinctively hide his nature among humans, Sumi has never had any contact with the supernatural in Japan. Though it was clear that never bothered him, yet meeting others like him made him feel happier. The mention of bakenekos made him ponder for a moment, his tail thumping against the ground.

Wasn't long until he was about halfway inking one page, but out of what? ten pages? That seemed like it. Junchi's question drew his attention, and Sumi really took the moment to address their doubts about his own limitations: "Hm... At first I used to dispose of the excess in empty bottles of Ramune, they were 500 milliliters ones, about 7 or 8 bottles per day. Has been a while since I filled bottles. Big bro is a mangaka, so having ink that readily available for him was convenient."

A quick flare of excitement flashed across Junchi's face. "An art yokai, a plant person, and an art-yokai with plant powers. We'd be the perfect team!" Junchi's imagination ran wild. A superhero team was the first to come to mind, but on a more realistic level, a group of friends who all had something to share in common sounded just as nice.

But it would have been rude to ignore what Sumi had said in preference for his own daydreams. "That's a lot! A mangaka is someone who makes manga, isn't it? My big sister has some. Is that what you're drawing? I read them sometimes. My favorites are the one with the four panels going from top to bottom." Junchi, partially remember what he was taught about personal space, stretched his body out to see what Sumi was drawing. He wasn't totally invading Sumi's personal bubble if he was only partially in it.

Tadashi giggled at Junchi's excitement. He couldnt help but feel like the other kid's enthusiasm was contagious. "We can fight crime with silly drawings and stuff," he laughed and gave Junchi a wink , guessing that was what his mind had gone to when he said 'team'.

Between Junchi stretching out and his own desire to relax, mixed with a strong wish to hide his disgust at the idea of being used like Sumi had- for whatever reason, Tadashi too stretched. But then he shifted back into his cat form. A cute white cat with black "socks" on his paws.

He sat back down as a cat and made the leggy mustache run up and hop on his face. To center himself he closed his eyes and reached out to the plants around them. Listening to their "voices" and also nourishing the ones he was now in direct contact with.

Junchi's fantasy was really... Off. Sumi didn't even have the time to point it out, Tadashi was faster. "That and, well, I'm just a kid. But ya know, it is really funny, how you have a power, I have another, and then Tadashi is both.", he responded to Sumi, gesturing to themselves in order. It was almost as if fate bound them to meet, although he wasn't a firm believer of fate himself.

After he observed Tadashi turn into a cat, Sumi gave a light chuckle. The ink boy was familiar with the whole changing forms. Soon and sure enough, Junchi has expressed more curiosity, to which he had the answers pretty much at the tip of his tongue, and because he also finished inking a page and prepared to switch to another.

"Yes, that's what he is! And he taught me how to make them too, showed me some classics like Dr Slump and Dragon Ball, ever since I'm following his path. Hm... So you like 4-Koma. He sold those on the side in a couple conventions or so, his series are less on the comedy side and more into the action side.", Sumi didn't bother of personal space intrusion, and through the sketches it was clear to see it was a short manga about a boy and his adventures while sailing through the seas, the style was almost similar to that of Akira Toriyama.

Junchi awed at Tadashi's cat form with the obviously fake mustache. "You're so cute I want to pet you," he said, intending to ask Tadashi for permission to pet him.

He also nodded when Sumi said he liked 4-Koma. Right, that was the word his sister used. "I like action too, but I like real life action more. I like romance too. Is your manga an action too? It looks adventure-y."

Tadashi looked up at Junchi and meowed before nudging his head towards Junchi's hand. "It's ok, I was a cat long before I was a boy. I still feel like a cat a lot of the time." As long as the oricenta didn't go overboard with it Tadashi didn't mind being petted in cat form.

After giving Junchi permission to pet him Tadashi allowed the mustache drawing to collapse and he tried to climb to see the pages Sumi was drawing. "You're really good at this, but also.. gross. Who wants to have all that water splashing on you?" He referenced the sailing boy in the illustration Sumi was doing. A bit of his cat dislike for bodies of water showing

"The most I had of real life action... Was seeing a stage play of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, and shaking hands with Captain Marvelous. But yes, you guessed right, it's an adventure. A boy who braves the world sailing his father's ship. I'm thinking of making it a OneShot, you know, not serialize it.", in truth, Sumi started to consider the idea of even getting it published. Even if it was short and a single chapter, it would be an interesting idea...

When Tadashi decided to take a peek, the ink boy couldn't comprehend why he didn't like water... Was that some stereotype for cats? But he humored the question: "I used to swim at the school pools, and there was this time I went to a hot spring. To be honest I was a little reluctant to even take my first bath since I was born, being made of ink and all..."

Junchi made no hesitation to pet Tadashi after getting permission. He remembered what he was taught to was gentle with his petting, understanding that not all cats were as strong as him. He also took into consideration the sharpness of his nails. All in all, soft petting for Junchi was a difficult task, but seeing how relaxed the animal became made it all worth it. Also, its softness!

"I'd like to sail a ship like him someday! And I'd like having water splashed on me. I'm a plant so I need a lot of it. It's how I stay strong and grow. But only cold water," he explained. "But I understand why people don't like it. It can ruin a lot of stuff and I used to feel heavier after getting out of a bath."
