"The redhead woman," Konishi said vaguely, almost as though she was possessed or sleep-talking. She wrapped her arms around him tighter, but Konishi didn't seem like she was scared. "She was walking along the corridor again. She opened the door to room 302, wearing an emerald green dress, then she fell... It's just the same dream. I dreamed of many times, at least once a week. It doesn't mean anything."

She rested her head on him. Her body was very small compared to his, and she looked like a cute little doll when she was sleepy. She was wearing no make-up, but her cheeks had a warm flush to them and her lips were pink and full.

"I don't have much in the kitchen, I'm afraid. Some eggs, some instant noodles, bread, cucumbers, and some apples. I think that's mainly about it." If Félix searched around, he'd find a little more than that, but they would be mostly snacks or condiments than further ingredients to cook with.

A redhead? Félix had no context for her dream, but it was just as well. It wasn't about him, and as far as he cared it either was unimportant or didn't concern him. Not yet, anyway. However, he didn't really believe the former option. One didn't have recurring dreams over nothing, not that Félix knew. It didn't mean it concerned him though.

“Hmm,” she really didn't have much in the kitchen. Apples didn't go with any of that. The cucumbers and bread could, but if she lacked anything else in the kitchen then it was a wash. “Let me see.” He regretfully unwound himself from Konishi's embrace and ventured into her kitchen. She was right, mostly. Other than some condiments, there was really only snacks. Not a hearty meal in sight.

Ultimately he decided to use the noodles and some eggs. It wasn't great, but it was something and the egg would help make it filling. After a few minutes of boiling the water and letting the noodles cook, Félix returned to the couch with two bowls of noodles with egg. He set them on the coffee table in front of Konishi.

“I guess you never cooked at home?” Félix asked. Félix never had to either, outside of midnight snacks. But even when he wanted to make a sandwich, he had to be careful not to ruin the cook's plans for the day or week. A few missing slices of bread and meat didn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but a cook valued his precision and cherished each and every last bit of food.

He took the first bite of the noodles. He wasn't particularly hungry, but he was a fairly big boy all the same. He could afford a little extra snack.

"I never really cooked at home." Konishi replied. Emi never really liked to cook over-elaborate dishes, so they ate simply. Eustace was always the one that was being cooked for, so he never made his own meals. Or he ate out, dining in places without his wife or his daughter. He prided himself on being a 'gourmand'.

"I don't have much to cook with right now, so I can't really make much. I worry things will spoil if I buy too many fresh ingredients."

She stood beside Félix in the kitchen. Her hand went to touch his back, but she didn't quite make it in time. Just then, her cellphone vibrated, gently shifting on the table. Her ringtone was a standard trill, nothing fancy.

"Let me go get that," She said, partially excusing herself. She went over to her phone, and a contact with no profile picture showed up, as "Elena".

"Hi Elena," Konishi greeted cheerfully. "What's up?" She paced a little, and went back to Félix to check on how the noodles were doing.
"Hey Konishi," the voice on the other end replied in as much glee, "What are you up to tonight? I'm bored."
"Just getting a snack." She stroked a finger along Félix's spine and smiled.
"I don't suppose you have some extra for me over there?"
"I have plenty to share. Come over soon! I dearly love your company. You'll fit right in at Starlight. Ditch the girls at Sacré-Cœur, they're no fun." She added a light giggle.
"I might just take you up on that, dear. No one lives up to your fun."
"That's why you're my darling. Hey, I have some company over. I'll call you back later, okay? Keep your phone on."
"I'll be waiting, love."
"I love you," She smiled. It sounded like any other teenage girl saying "ily!" to their best friends, just a little more formal. At least, to Félix's ears, that's one thing it could have been.
"I love you too. I could use that snack... I'm starving." Elena said sultrily, before the call ended.

She put her phone to sleep, and the screen turned black with a light 'click'. The snack was ready. "Sorry about that call." Her cheeks flushed. Now Konishi seemed rather embarrassed. "She's my best friend."

"Looks good," she said, stirring the noodles with her chopsticks and blowing on them to cool them down. She wasn't particularly fussed that Félix took the first bite. It seemed that she would have to teach him about patience later.

Félix simply didn't want to eat his noodles cold, especially not with an egg dropped in. He figured it was something to eat quickly while it was still hot, just like poutine. If Konishi wanted to pick up a phone right in the middle of eating, Félix could give her some lessons himself.

He didn't want to eavesdrop on the conversation, but Konishi made it impossible. She didn't hold anything back talking to her friend from afar, or so it was how Félix assumed. He was always told girls liked to fraternize pretty closely, so the language simply justified that in his mind.

It also didn't help to think when he felt Konishi's finger run down his spine. He straightened immediately, trying not to shiver too much. It felt really good though. By the end of their call, both of their cheeks were a deep red.

“It's okay. Don't let your food cool too fast.” Once Konishi dug into her own, Félix turned his attention back to eating. It was decent enough, for instant noodles and egg. They ate rather quietly, but Félix's mind was spinning with what to do afterwards. The movie didn't really interest her, and they just ate... it seemed too early to go home.

Was this where he should make a move? Félix could hear his brother's voice almost too vividly in his head. 'She's been snuggling up and teasing you all night! Only an idiot could miss this!' Félix couldn't help but agree... but what to do? 'Whatever feels right, bro. Stop over thinking this.'

He turned his body to face Konishi on the couch. He wasn't blushing as much now, but his head still swam in uncertainty. She was really cute.

“Still hungry?” he smiled. His hand rested on Konishi's leg, and Félix tentatively leaned forward.

"I'mf eafshing," Konishi said abruptly, slurping up more noodles at incredible speed with her chopsticks. She seemed to really enjoy Félix's cooking, a little too much that she didn't want to be interrupted. She finished eating and collected her and Félix's bowls and washed them quickly, along with the cup she used for her water, the small saucepan and the plate she used to hold the cucumber and mayo. It was done in under five minutes.

On the couch, Konishi's small foot found the hem of Félix's pants. She lifted it up with her toes and played with his leg after she felt his socks. Perhaps there was still hope for romance, but her face suggested that she was totally oblivious that she was leading him on. Something seemed to click when he touched her leg like that. When she looked down there was a brief flash of disgust in her dark red eyes. Her old boyfriend did that sometimes.

She put a hand on his and smiled delicately. "I'll go make some tea. The MSG in them always makes me thirsty."

If Félix had more than one sibling in his mind, Délise would have come in right about now to say something along the lines of: 'Do you really want to kiss her when both of you have MSG breath? Use your brain for once. Seduction is all about timing.'

"I have green tea, Earl Grey or peppermint. Which one would you prefer?"

((SORRY TO TAKE CONTROL OF DÉLISHIOUS DÉLISE YOU THINK I'M HER ANYWAY. At least when I'm not sobbing.))

It was funny how his own thoughts could be played out in his head by different voices. Félix didn't even think about the meal they just had, but the moment he realized Konishi's hesitance he picked up on the idea. His hand slipped away from her leg, noting not to do it again, and agreed for some tea.

“Peppermint, please,” For his breath, of course. When Konishi got up to boil the water, he quickly brought his hand to his face and gently breathed against it. He didn't think it smelled that bad.

In any case, he was back to square one with this matter of 'seduction'. Once Konishi came back with his drink, he left it to cool and steep for a little while longer. He'd want his tea at its full strength.

“Who was that on the phone anyway? Old friend of yours?” Félix tried to pass the time with more casual conversation.

With the Zojirushi electronic kettle, hot water was readily available and it didn't take long for the tea to arrive. Konishi sat back down and took an overly hot sip of her tea, and that was when Félix asked about who she was talking on the phone with.

"Cutie," Konishi teased. "You jealous?" She reached out and pinched his soft cheek gently.

"She's an old friend, I suppose. Her name is Elena. Elena Madison-Teague. We went to elementary school together and went to the same high school, until I had to move to Tsushima. She's a bit eccentric. I think her parents are in Japan on some business, but she has powers too, like us. She can... manipulate the mind as though it's matter, I suppose."

Félix took a fast gulp of his tea. It burned his tongue and the back of his throat, but it was a brief sensation. The more lasting one was the aroma of mint, already helping to overwhelm whatever bad was underneath it. It was no wonder people chewed mint gum or ate fresh garnish after a meal. It was the perfect tool for the night after dinner.

“Elena? She's a telepath, huh?” Manipulate the mind like a sculptor could manipulate clay. That sounded entirely scary. Konishi pinching his cheek only mildly distracted him from the thought. Still, he smiled a little after a quiet scoff.

They were on the couch again, and things were winding down. It took him some time to finally try again, but he managed. He turned into Konishi again, once she set her tea down. His arm wrapped around her and they closed in. Félix was blushing a little. He couldn't hide that against his white skin.

He smiled, “I don't think I have reason to be jealous. You're here with me.” In a move that would make Eric cheer, Félix leaned in and kissed Konishi.

Her eyes remained open when he kissed her like that, until they finally broke away from each other's lips. At first, she didn't want a man to take control of her like that, especially not Félix. She could have reviled him for doing something like that. At least, this was the first brush with controlling her that Félix demonstrated. It still wasn't too late to regain it.

Konishi smiled a little. From being cold with her from their first meeting and now, he was being far too warm like this.

"I didn't think you liked me like that."

She kissed him back with more force, leaning in on him aggressively. With a deft hand, she pushed his body onto the couch, so that he would lie supine, with her still sitting over him. She leaned in, her hair dangling over his neck. She strengthened the structure of her hair slightly. Against his skin it would feel like thin, razor sharp wires, but she didn't apply enough pressure to cut him. It felt as pleasant as running steel wool over the sensitive skin of the neck.

"Careful," she whispered. "You shouldn't overstay your welcome."

The fact Konishi didn't pull away from the kiss seemed like enormous success for Félix. He didn't really notice her eyes kept open, and he certainly didn't notice the thoughts running through her head. All he saw was the smile on her face when it was done. Félix himself was a little redder in the cheeks.

“I thought it was worth a – mm!” Félix didn't expect Konishi to kiss him again. He welcomed it, his brain still swimming with excitement as she pushed him down on the couch. When she leaned over him, Félix smiled. Her hair felt nice against his skin. At least, for a brief second.

The next thing he knew, his neck was exposed to daggers. That soft hair now prickled against his skin. He tried to get up, but the strong pressure made him realize Konishi could turn more than her nails into a weapon.

Konishi indeed turned Félix's feelings around. He feared for his life. “Konishi, I – I'm sorry. P-please,” he whispered back, trying not to push his throat against the sharp hair. It was difficult enough controlling his breathing.
