Jacob's head slumped visibly in both disgust and surprise at Ania's reply.

"N-No! I mean, no thanks, honey. T-That's way too old for me. And... Eugh...."

He had no problem expressing his dislike for that option, and he shivered at the image of it. That... That was definitely not his thing. Some people, somehow, may have been into that but he was not one of them. People may have found his preference for younger women to be both cliche and a little creepy, but at least it wasn't weird. Not that he would have admitted that preference out loud to anyone, and especially not to Ania.

"I can look beyond the teaching profession too, y'know. And it's not like I'm JUST looking for someone to put out for me, as you say..."

Though it was a very close second.

"... I'm also looking for a real relationship too."

But some sex would be REALLY great, would be what his subconscious would append to that statement. Anyway, Ania was demanding another story and Jacob needed to get his mind off of a variety of things at this point and he relented. With a quiet grunt, he stood back up on his feet and paced a little in front of her bed. Her big cozy bed.

"Now story... Story... Story... Hm... Okay. So the little fishy is a dragon now, right? Well, as a dragon she could soar high into the sky and across the lands with grace and beauty. She loved it up there and she often saw the admiration and envy of other fish, even the ones that had bullied her.

She would often sail teasingly over them, goading them to try and make it up the waterfall as she did. When they failed, she would laugh and fly away, only to return to goad them again. But the formerly bullying fish so wished to be dragons too and pleaded for her help time after time. They were sorry for teasing her, and now simply wished to fly as she did.

Eventually, she realized that teasing them about not getting up the waterfall made her much like them when they were teasing her. But now she was a dragon, and that was not fair. So she found it within her heart to help them and guide them up the waterfall until they too became dragons. They weren't as big or as beautiful, but they cheered and thanked her. They too soared and smiled, never to tease her again, and she became the Great Guiding Dragon of the Sky, helping all fish climb that waterfall as she once did."

Ania grunted when he shot her suggestion down. So, he probably wasn't into his elders. Elders weren't bad, though. If he found a nice cougar she might even offer to bake him cookies. Leave him her estate and all that came with it. Sounded perfectly fine to her. Well, that old teacher was probably dead by now anyway. Shrugging, she figured that if he was lonely enough, he could go out and find someone himself. She couldn't think of anyone else, anyway.

Settling back to hear his story, Ania twirled a piece of her hair studiously. It was a sequel, good. Her face took on a smug expression when the other fishes were jealous. Yes, she bet they were sorry for teasing the dragon, now. They didn't deserve the dragons help, they deserved to be eaten. Slowly, her eyes began to narrow as the story changed. Why was the dragon helping them? She was mildly pleased when they didn't get to be as pretty, but she still didn't like that they got to be dragons, too.

The story ended, and she was silent for a while. "Why didn't the dragon eat the fish, instead?" If she were in charge, those fish would have been cooked as soon as the dragon earned her wings. That would make the dragon a murderer, right? Cannibal maybe, too. Sitting up real straight, Ania's expression went from disgruntled to serious. In a low, dramatic whisper, she asked, "Have you ever killed a man?"

He did not quite expect the reaction he got out of Ania that he did. But after a few moments of thought, he realized that it was probably well in-line considering that she did not like the bullying fishes from the first time around.

Revenge. It was an unfortunate side effect of bullying. Jacob could understand the sentiment from the victim's point of view perfectly well. They wanted to get back at the tormentors, either right then or when time had passed and they had all grown into something else. It was natural, and sometimes encouraged. An eye for an eye, and such. the victims want the bully to suffer as they made them suffer, and really drill home the idea of making them understand what the victim went through.

But that was a dangerous train of thought. What if the revenge went too far? What then? It would not bring the victim solace, and it would not stop bullying from happening to others. As delicious as it sounds at the time, revenge was not the answer.

"Well, Ania, wouldn't it be just as mean for the Dragon to eat the fish as the fish had bullied the littler one? In a way, wouldn't that make the Dragon a bully too?"

Life lessons abounded, but he doubted it would sink it while he was there. Ania looked to be distracted by something else, and Jacob tilted his head in curiosity as Ania seemed to switch gears about something else.

"W-What?! No! No! Why would you ask such a thing, honey?"

Flopping, she hadn't thought that would make the dragon a bully too. Her brow furrowed in thought. Well, those fishes would deserve to get burned up anyway. Their fault for teasing the wrong fish. She would have to think about this further. She still preferred to think of her dragon as a cannibal. Bringer of justice. Bringer of fire ... and justice. Fire, justice, and crispy fish rolls.

"Oh, just wondering. Innocent question, you know." She had never killed a man either, but it never hurt to ask anyone, did it? Ever since her vacation to Ancient Rome, the sight of a guy being impaled on a sword had stuck with her. Sitting quietly on her bed was starting to get boring. Overcome with a case of the fidgets, Ania pursed her lips. She still felt tired, of course, but she wanted to do something. "Hey. Lets play a game. I'm bored."

Patting the bed beside her, Ania invited Jacob to come sit with her again. Ever since he got up, he took his warmth with him. She had lost her heated blanket ages ago, and now had to rely on trapping people into sitting with her long enough. She'd been wanting to look into getting a warm fuzzy pet for a while, but had never gotten to it. Maybe this year for her birthday she could beg for a kitten or something. She hadn't played any type of sleepover games since she was in middle school, and had to think for a moment about what they could play. She did suggest it, after all. "All I can think of is truth or dare, though. Unless you got anything better?"

"That was... some question..."

Jacob had backed up away from the bed in surprise at Ania's very blunt and strange question. It was the sort of move and actual killer would make just before he was found out, but he was just so caught off guard by it that his body reacted instinctively. Maybe he thought the ominous was just a lead-in to something more sinister. Like she was going to kill him, or she was going to demand he kill someone.

Fortunately, nothing came of the question and he relaxed. However, he would probably always remember that little moment with her for just how strange it was. Ania... She was... a strange girl. Beautiful and cute. But apparently also maybe a killer? Or not? Jacob was really starting to wonder.

"Like what kind of game?"

He had a momentary flashback to the Saw movie.

"Oh. I-I guess. I'm game."

With a little more caution than last time, Jacob took up Ania's offer and sat himself back down on the bed right next to her. In his mind, he kept telling himself that, yes, she was a little odd but that didn't make her a murder. So he should cool it on being so hesitant around her and just relax. Play a little game with her, spend a little more time with her. Spending time with her wasn't a bad thing even if she already had a boyfriend. They could still be close in a different way. What's the worse that could happen?

A funny little smile appeared when Ania noticed that Jacob had spooked at her question. Was it really that strange of a question to ask? Then again, most people didn't pop such a question as 'did you ever kill someone.' She should work on her social skills. Of course, now that the opportunity had presented itself, how could she possibly let such a thing go? Mischeif was her best talent, after all. Truth or dare, truth or dare. She could always dare him to do something wild. That's it, something that he would balk at.

Feeling much like a cat with a new toy, Ania tucked her chin as he sat next to her. She didn't want him to see any mirth in her expression. He almost looked like he was going to take off for the hills, poor fellow. Making her eyes go wider, Ania stared with an intense expression. Her red eyes gave it the effect she desired, two deep pools the colour of blood. It really was too bad her disposition was too sunny to be a murderer. "Okay. I dare you to kill a dude."

Expectantly, her head raised and she watched him with a false casualty. She wondered if he would take the dare. Take the dare or give her a nervous lecture on ethics? Either one, it should be interesting.

Her eyes. Why had he never connected her beautifully red eyes with blood before? It was so easy. Especially when she gave him that burning, intense look. There were a few beats of silence as Jacob awaited her first Truth or Dare, growing ever more anxious by the beat. He had to glance to the side a few times, tearing his eyes from her's, just to ease the tension.

"... Ahem..."

Then she proposed her Dare and Jacob seized up. For a few seconds, he just stared back at her, mouth agape.

".... Ha. Ah ha! Ha ha ha. Very fun, Ania."

Suddenly the nervousness went away. If she had asked something a little less on the nose, maybe Jacob would still have been a little freaked out about her sudden change. But daring him to kill a person? Right off the bat and so soon after her unsettling question? That was a bit much. It broke the suspense for him. She had wrapped back around from mysterious and ominous to cute girl TRYING to be mysterious and ominous. He chuckled at her and leaned closer to her. If she wanted to play games, he was going to play too.

"C'mon, honey, what else you got?"

He leaned even closer to her, smirking, trying his best to combat her intense glare with an intense look of his own. Though instead of going for quiet psychopath, Jacob reached back into his past and retrieved the smoldering gaze he had used in youth to get girls.

"Give me a REAL challenge. Have a little bit of imagination~"

<div align=center>Boredom had overcome Hadrian and an overwhelming sense of affection that could probably only be expended on one person. He thought he'd ended up leaving things in Ania's dorm anyway, that happened more often than not and he tended to find things of hers scattered in his house from time to time. They were both as forgetful as each other, and besides, it didn't really matter, since he'd always get those things back at some point or another. Altair padded idly along behind him, head low, tail flicking now and again. The animal wasn't strictly allowed on campus, despite the fact he wasn't really all that dangerous. Hadrian brought him on campus regardless of that, though the animal tended to leave whenever he felt like it, he always found his way home again.

The creature leveled with Hadrian and pushed his head against his hand, receiving an affectionate scratch behind the ear, which satisfied him for a short while. The boy turned a corner, he'd memorized Ania's dorm number by now, she didn't have a room mate, which he supposed was lucky enough for her. Hadrian didn't live on campus, his parents had bought him a fancy house in the city that was large enough for him to keep his unusual pet in. Altair took up an awful lot of space, he was a lazy animal and could be found sleeping more often than not.

He paused outside Ania's dorm room, Altair looked up at him for a moment, before slowly lowering his hindquarters, and seating himself on the carpet next to his master. Hadrian knocked on the door lightly, before glancing down to the animal and frowning. Altair reached his middle when he was sitting, he was a large, heavy animal, though probably no more dangerous than a large, overly friendly dog. He blinked slowly, large, amber eyes studying Hadrian's carefully, before the boy looked away, and back to the door again.</div>

A little put off by his reaction, she thought she was doing pretty good before he laughed. Well, it was fun while it lasted. She couldn't think of anything good, though. Why did she have to pick this game of all things? When you were 13 years old, truth or dare was much simpler. Truth, have you ever been kissed, and dare, I dare you to kiss. The standard protocol for each game revolved around the dirtiest thing they could think of: kissing. However, once you grew older, it was definitely more of a challenge to think of something.

His own stare threw her off even more, and her eyes slid down and to the left to avoid his eyes. As colour steadily rose into her face, she squirmed, feeling the pressure to think of something for real. "Um. Did she want any information from him? She didn't think so. Truths were somewhat useless in this case, unless she asked about his daughter or other family members. "Oh! I —" She paused, hearing a small familiar knock at her door. "Someone's here!"

Flinging herself out of bed, she found her way to the door, tugging it open to reveal Hadrian, and at a second glance, Hadrian and Altair. He was awful big in the dorm corridor, he never looked this big before. Pouncing Hadrian, Ania hugged him hard, not realising how happy she would be to see him again. "Oh! Do you want to play a game with us? It's truth or dare!" Popping back over to her bed, she bounced in place for a minute before settling. "Hadrian came!"

He felt as if victory was almost in hand. Ania's little game had swiftly turned in his favor, and his smirk showed how pleased he was at that turnabout. Her eyes had become downcast and red was appearing on her face. She was struggling to find words to say, and all he had to do was lean even closer to her. Jacob had forgotten how much he enjoyed playing this kind of game, and the question of how far he could go with it strangely did not appear in his mind.

"Go ahead, Ania... Dare me~"

His voice had gone low and he was looming over her, awaiting her reaction.

But then a knock at the door and Jacob was whipped back into reality. It was only that he realized how far he was leaning over and, when Ania leaped out of bed to the door, Jacob fell flat on his face in a soft thump on the bed. Then it hit him: Someone was at the door. Someone was at Ania's door and he was, for some reason, still in her dorm. Alone. And they had both obviously been on the bed. Oh god. Jacob's heart began to race and he too leaped to his feet, as if putting distance between him and the bed would send a better message.

He got up, and straightened his workout clothes, just in time for the door to fully open. Ania pounced a blond young man, whom was accompanied by a rather large furred animal. Her boyfriend no doubt. Jacob put on his best straight, adult face and nodded at the boy like it was totally normal for him to be Ania's room.

"*ahem* Hello... Hadrian. Jacob Cunningham. Friend of Ania?"
