(Character: Alistair Fordren)

How he managed to actually get in was anybody's guess. In all honesty, he could get in serious trouble for this. It wasn't only rule-breaking, it was law breaking. After all, he wasn't a student here. He had managed to sneak - and maybe persuade - his way in earlier in the day. He was able to maintain a relatively low profile - even hiding in a closet at one point - until it was after hours. But now, not only was he a trespasser - at a school, nonetheless - but one could add theft and breach of security onto his list of crimes. Indeed, he would be in jail for a rather long time if it was found out what he was doing.

It wasn't difficult, though. At least, not for one such as himself. It took a bit of patience - okay, a lot of it - to get that glass of water. But he had brought the sleeping drug with him. After all, he had planned this entire thing from the start. The janitor was easily convinced to drink it after a long day of work - conveniently disregarding the fact that a student was wandering about suspiciously after hours. Soon enough he was sleeping, and Alistair predicted 3 hours, 14 minutes, and 52 seconds before he would wake up, judging by the man's age, weight, and body structure. Give or take a few minutes.

But that was plenty of time to unlock the door to the computer lab and begin hacking into one of the computers. They were well protected, indeed. But he probably knew how to hack into one of these better than the administrator(s) knew how to keep the information protected. He managed to use the computer to access the school's files, and began scanning them for any possibility of "it" becoming involved in a student (or teacher's) life. Yes, it was highly illegal. Yes, it was a dangerous task that could end up with him thrown in jail. But was it worth the possibility of saving everyone's life?

Considering what he was, the answer was indubitably yes. He just hadn't counted on any other students being up this late, it was well after midnight after all. He merely just hoped no one would catch him.

Kenichi was working late on his computer. he had persuaded the Janitor to let him into the computer lab around 11:00, and not look back until he left.

Kenichi was working on rigging one of the computers for his soul use: he had painted it red, his favorite color, to mark it as such. He was putting in a coolant system, when he heard the Janitor talking to somebody. Kenichi turned off the computer, slid the side panel back on, and got under the table.

He had never really thought about what would happen if he rigged one of the computers, or what one of the school's Admins would do when they found out, but he wasn't ready to get caught. Using one of the tricks his Master had taught him, Kenichi went near invisible under the desk; he was a slightly different color then the tiled floor, and his Master's red messenger bag was still visible, but it would take a special kind of person to find him now.

"Come on then," he said to nobody, "what'cha gunna do?"

As young as Aiyanna was, she was no stranger to computers. But then again, if she was, that would make her highly unusual for her age group wouldn't it? Everyone had a computer these days.

The ten year old had found it very easy to get into the computer lab, almost too easy. What was the janitor doing honestly?

Hisako rode uneasily on her shoulder and Aiyanna calmly entered the room, she noted that someone else was in the room as well, and she stopped to stare at him. He didn't look like he was a student or a teacher, although it was sometimes hard for her to tell the difference. If he was doing something he shouldn't, she didn't want any part of it.

Walking over to the nearest computer station, she clicked it on and waited as it flickered to life, more or less ignoring what else was going on in the room.

Well, that was certainly strange. A young female had made her way into the room now, and innocently began using one of the machines. This was rather unexpected, and it made him slightly uncomfortable. It occurred to him that it could actually be someone entirely different than what he could see. After all, the students of this academy had special abilities. It was possible she had some sort of shape shifting ability and took that form to catch him off guard.

Or she was just an innocent young girl up past bed time.

He had no idea of Kenichi's presence, for in his current form he could not sense the presence of nearby living beings. In all honesty he had no idea that Kenichi was in the room. He didn't really expect any one else to be here anyways - that was why he had chosen this specific time of night to break in. It was surprising enough to see a young girl wander in nonchalantly.

He decided to largely ignore the young girl, and continue with what he was doing. Of course he would keep a look out for her actions, but he decided to play along with the situation and deal with any more unexpected occurrences as they came, rather than abort his mission. Doing so could render any possibility of future attempts useless.

He had managed to hack his way successfully into the school's mainframe database. It was certainly well defended, but it was also obvious that this world's current state of technology was not up to par with what he had experience with. His mind, ever so powerful, was actually able to keep up with a majority of the firewall's defenses. He began scanning the school's files for anything that looked relevant to his mission. Considering what he had managed to do, someone would likely expect him to look up things such as financial information, top-secret intelligences, etc. However, it was likely none of this would help him, and as such he did not even bother looking through such files, unless of course he had reason to believe one or more of them were relevant to his current objective.

All that mattered to him was anything regarding the possibility of "it" being present in this world.

Kenichi watched this strange young man work at the computer, and at the girl that entered after him. Where they working together? Surely this person-who was obviously hacking-knew better than to try to hack the mainframe with only one computer. He knew from experience-eventually, there was a specialty firewall that is almost unstoppable, and would crash the computer, and would turn the hard drive into slag, if you can't re-route it. That was a sad day for Kenichi; he had to re-route the wall to a computer that was in the library down in the town below. He felt bad about it, but...

Kenichi shook his head. "Stop getting side tracked!" he muttered to himself. He crawled out from under the desk, shuffled over to his bag, and whispered, "Steel, appear!" and, with some difficulty, successfully retrieved a 5kg block of Japanese tempered steel. He let out a sigh of relief, and wiped away some of the sweat that had beaded up on his forehead-the sweat could have broken his Invisibility spell, had it gotten into his eyes and distracted him.

He thanked his good spirits for his luck; the act of removing and placing the steel required a tremendous amount of Mana, in fact when he had placed the five blocks in (he has used two, now), the effort nearly killed him. And when master found out, well, that really did almost kill him!

Holding the bar in his left hand, he loosed some of he Mana into it, and began his incantations of movement. The block used to be about 1 long, 6 inches wide, and 1 foot tall, taking up most of the space in his bag. With the infusion of Mana and spells, the steel has become almost liquid like; what was once hard, rigid and brittle is now soft and supple, taking the shape of whatever Kenichi wants it to be, which is currently something like a gauntlet. The metal was encasing his hand, stretching up his arm, and stopped at his left shoulder.

Kenichi, as he began to walk behind the man, estimated that he had about 65% of his Mana left. He dropped the Invisibility spell, and regained about 10%.

"So, my friend," he said, loudly, "What are you up to at this late hour?"

Aiyanna glanced over her shoulder at the guy behind her, he wasn't about to start a fight was he? Hisako let out a loud caw in defiance, if either of these boys hurt Aiyanna, then they would die by the beaks of a hundred furious birds. There will be no mercy, they did not understand it's meaning.

The ten year old turn away from the computer, and stood up. Being as small as she was, she was actually shorter standing up then sitting down. "You shouldn't be so hostile," She said in a bit of a toneless voice, she stared at the man with the pale skin and strange black hair. She walked forward a bit and stared up at them with her dark eyes, "This is a school."

"Oh dear." He said calmly, as if he had not been startled at all by Kenichi's sudden appearance. Then the young girl began talking, too. Looks like his little adventure was over. He turned around to face Kenichi and shrugged. "A good question you pose, my friend. However," His arms crossed and he looked around as if wondering, "it could be considered rather rude to sneak up on someone and suddenly ask them a question. Especially without a proper introduction, no?"

He looked down at Aiyanna and nodded. "You also seem to have offended yet another person, as well." He mused before turning back to Kenichi. "But if you must know" He smiled. "I am looking up some information about the school." He did not appear at all intimidated or unsure of himself, despite Kenichi clearly trying to catch him off guard.

Kenichi's mind was racing. he knew i was there...he must have some sort of power that detects others...or he has a really strong nose.
When the man turned his back to Kenichi, his mouth went slack, if for an instant, then he ground his teeth.

"Little girl," he said, not taking his eyes off of the man before him, his voice sharp and cold, "there's more going on here than both you and I can comprehend. This man is strong, unafraid, and sure in his abilities. He's hacking the computer, but, looking his screen, he's not after money, which means he's after something more important. I like that in a person. Material things are so...unsavory. They will consume you.

"No, the real question is," Kenichi said, now thinking out loud, "what is he after...But he is correct, where are my manners? One should know the name of their opponent, otherwise it is not a fight, but mere violence."

Kenichi made a short bow, watching he man, in case he made any sudden movements. "How do you do? My name is Kenichi Kururugi. Who, may I ask, are you?"

Aiyanna made no move to react to being called "little girl". That was what she was, and there was no point in getting upset about it. "If he is dangerous," Aiyanna said to Kenichi, "then fight him elsewhere, this is a school, no violence is allowed here." She eyed the other strange man with some interest, what Kenichi said was true, his screen did not show bank accounts or other things that would suggest he was doing something unlawful. Other then being here in the first place when he clearly wasn't a student.

"Why are you here?" The small girl asked the older man, "is the information you want worth the cosequences?"

"You approached me with the intention of combat?" He glanced at Aiyanna who pretty much just said what he was going to say. "Well then, it would appear the young one is quite wise." He then made a formal bow in return to Kenichi's. "I am known as Alistair Fordren. A pleasure to meet you." He then returned his gaze to the young girl. "And you as well, m'lady." He knelt beside her before bowing lower with additional formality.

"To answer your question, m'lady." He began while still kneeling before Aiyanna, able to look her right in the eye without looking down at her. "Yes, I am afraid the information I seek is worth more than perhaps even my own life. It is mere unfortunate incidence that you and Sir Kururugi here happened upon me."
