Aren’s latest dream was...disturbing to say the least. The voice that had plagued him in his dreams for the past few weeks finally was talking to Aren directly. Well that was what he believed was going on at least. What the voice had said prompted Aren to call Jude and ask to meet at the park as soon as possible. If he was right on what had happened then he would finally be gettin some answers on....everything.

Jude wasn't sure why Aren had called him, but he had more than a sneaking suspicion that it was bad. It mostly came down to the fact that Aren seemed to be getting worse, not better, and that every time Jude had spoken to him he seemed more... distressed? Alarmed? Alarming?

All of the above, apparently.

He'd not bothered to contact Summer, opting to fly solo as he headed towards the park, his hands shoved in the pocket of his hoodie as he headed towards Aren was.

"What's up?" He called, trying to keep things casual.

Aren noticed Jude and looked relieved for a moment. “Oh thank you for meeting me Jude. It’s kinda important that I called you here. When I was dreaming something weird happened.” Aren took a deep breath, not really knowing how to talk about it. “Someone talked to me in my dream. They said “Have the god and their puppet send another memory. The king has asked for an audience.” That could only mean this Red King wants to finally talk.”

That was... alright. Jude wasn't going to beat around the bush, because what Aren said was flat out crazy. His first instinct was you need mental help, only on Manta Carlos? The possibility that there was more to it was very high.

He weighed his options with Giltenn. Giltenn would guard him mentally, largely to ensure their own protection. If something tried to invade his mind, they'd be in for a real bad time. And if someone else tried to pull him in? Well, they'd probably end up tearing a hole through whatever mental space they were in.

"Alright," Jude finally said after several moments of clear mental debate. "You're sure you want to do this?"

Aren had to think about that himself. Was he sure about it? There was no telling what would happen if he did. The more Aren thought about it though, the more his resolve on this hardened. “Yes. This is the only way we can get answers Jude. I’m ready.”

Alright. Well, he was safe--he was pretty sure--so he carefully picked out a memory (a nice happy one, just in case) before reaching out, resting his hand on Aren's arm and sending the memory over. Nice and simple--a memory of Rory and him talking about nothing in particular, relaxed for once in their lives.

When Jude would send the memory the world around him shifted. He stood before a towering castle made of some type of red stone. Behind him he could hear the loud marching of a huge army towards the castle, all draped in green armor. Any attempts to interact with the army would be met with silence or him phasing through the soldiers.

For Jude, there was no question he was in some kind of... memory. Something mental. He knew because he wasn't the same in the dream. The silver of his flesh was gone, replaced with scar tissue, and his left arm ended just below the elbow, the hand entirely missing.

There was also a massive creature looming just behind him. He could hear Giltenn in his mind, even though there was no longer a connection, and Giltenn reached forward, scooting Jude underneath it's mass as they watched the arm approach.

You will not be harmed, Giltenn informed him, their mouth unmoving.

The army stopped twenty feet infront of the gates of the castle. A heavily armored soldier, presumably the general, made their way to the front of the mass and seemed to wait for something. The gates to the castle opened and two figures walked out wearing extremely ornate red armor, one of the being a couple of feet larger than the other. As they walked out they phased through Jude and Giltenn, stopping when they were ten feet away from the army.

The general of the green army spoke to the two figures, their voice was strong and prideful. “This is it Red King. Surrender and we’ll swear to give you and your throne a painless death. You aren’t getting yourself out of this one. No tricks, no dead army, it’s just you two. We’ve won.” The larger of the two in red armor took a long sigh. “Your Emerald Heralds are persistent that I will give them. But I will give you a counter offer. Drop your weapons and retreat, and your realm shall be forgiven for their actions on the Crimson Realm. If you do not, none of you will leave here alive.” The general was quiet for a moment but then broke into a fit of laughter. “Do you really think we are that dumb? Not even you two could take on this entire force and survive. This is your last chance to surrender.” The Red King exhaled and even longer sigh but was quiet. The king moved his hands through the empty air, an extremely complex rune forming as the gestures continued.

When the rune finished and the gestures stopped, the ground shook intensely. A loud crack could be heard behind the castle with a massive shape rising up soon after. The thing was so large it blocked out the sun, causing everything to go black for a few seconds. Soon the darkness would be overtaken by a dark red light, the massive shape revealing itself to be a creature of some sort. The creature was heavily restrained, appearing to have gigantic chains grafted into its skin randomly and frequently. On what could be considered it’s hands were large grotesque mouths. Inside of these mouths were large, reptilian eyes that appeared to be the source of the red light. The eyes of the creature shifted and focused on the army. Above the army now was a large red symbol, then a bright light.

When the light faded Jude would be in what would be the throne room of the castle he was outside of just moments ago. In the back of the room was a ruby throne, with the large armored figure from before sitting on it, his head resting on his hand. “So it showed you that event. Interesting.”

Jude and Giltenn watched the scene as it all played out, right up until the creature appeared in the distance. Jude stayed right where he was, hidden under Giltenn's mass, and when the light appeared Jude actually scooted over, pressing to Giltenn's leg to keep from being separated.

It had been a memory. Something playing out that seemed completely unconnected to Aren.

But this was different. There was a man there, the man who had summoned the creature with his magic, and it wasn't Jude who spoke first, but Giltenn.

When you invite strangers into your realm, it is customary to introduce yourself, Giltenn thought, speaking in a voice that was not words but still strangely audible.
