"Yes yes, after while it becomes norm norm, you seem to handle transition well well. Marluxa had difficult time time when first arrived. Confused and lost lost but now... Marluxa is home." spoke up Marluxa, reflecting on their rude arrival on this planet.

Abandoned by the on they called master and thinking themselves a failure, it took them a time and remediation for them to adjust to this new life. Part of them still missed their old life but... at the same time they were reluctant to give up what they had now. It did make them wonder what sort of feelings Jame might of had being a recent arrival, they understood more than anyone to feel like an outsider.

"Does James feel feel same? Is James now home? Or still... alien?" asked Marluxa, content with the current position.

James let out a sigh as he thought over Marluxas words. Was this home? It definitely felt like more of a home than Arizona. Here, things felt normal. Well, as normal you could get when discussing the concept of home with a literal alien from space.

"Home? Maybe. Haven't really thought about that. If anything, it's nice not having to always hide everything, ya know? Like I can be open about my powers. About who I am. What about you though? I mean, H\how the hell does someone like you, end up in a place like this? Let alone call it home?

"Master bring bring Marluxa on starship to hunt hunt and find prey prey on Earth. But... Marluxa failed, mission go bad bad and master left left Marluxa behind." answered Marluxa, hanging their head low as they reflect on their greatest shame.

Marluxa's failure hung on them greatly for they loved their master more than anything so their abandonment was extremely hard on them. While they have long since moved on with their life and was better for it... it was still something that their mind dwelled on.

"Marluxa was not happy happy at first. Lash lash with tooth and tail. But people here nice nice... teach Marluxa how to speak speak and learn new thing things. Earth now home... because Marluxa forgot-got old home."

James trailed off as he tired to come up with the right word. Moved on, maybe? He shook his head. No, from the way Marluxa talked about their past, something still stuck with them.

"Maybe, accepted. Yeah, that's better. After all, if not for your past, you wouldn't be here would you?"

"Not very much much. Old home like... like voice lost lost in static of the radio. Something something in noise but can't can't can't make out." sighed Marluxa, trying to recall their earliest memories but it was all just fuzzy and fragmented for them.

As James pondered on the right term, Marluxa silently awaited for his answer wondering what they thing was the correct word usage was. Even with this time spent on earth they were still trying to figure out this weird English language and how non-nonsensical it was. Like how does one chop up wood when while chopping down a tree? Things like that never made much sense to Marluxa.

"Accepted? Marluxa not sure sure but... maybe James have point point? Did your past past bring you here?"

Marluxa's question caused James to sharply inhale. It was certainly a topic he never really liked to talk, or even think, about. A lot of painful memories lived there. If he was being honest, it was question that he was hoping wouldn't come up. Now, he didn't have a choice.

"Yeah I guess. If anything it got me here in a sorta poetic way. I dunno, it's a topic that I haven't really thought about. Hell, I try not to think about it at all if I can I help it."

James exhaled, hoping that Marluxa could take the hint and they could shift topics.

Marluxa cranes their head forward, thinking they understood but not really. While they didn't quite understand Jame's hint, they nevertheless were ready to move on to other discussion topics.

"Rhmmm? Think think can be tiring. Think think too much tire Marluxa too when they not understand-stand."

Marluxa then takes a stand as they balance on two feet on the railing, using their long tail to help maintain balance.

"What what will James do now? Would James like to explore explore together? Much much to find and learn yes yes? James can be eye eyes and Marluxa ear ears." inquired Marluxa, figuring that since they were both new to this school it might help them both if they check out the school together. Marluxa could use a set of eyes to point out the more interesting places to investigate.

"Why not? It'd be a good chance to learn more about this place, get a lay of the land."

James looked out across the school, looking for any locations he thought they could explore together. After a moment he'd found a few places he thought might be worth a look. Of course, Dark Crystal was always an interesting choice for a visit, even if they weren't technically supposed to go there.

"Anywhere in particular you're trying to explore? Or you wanna just walk around and see what we find?"

Marluxa was delighted to hear that James was coming along and wanted to waste no time in exploring with their new comrade.

"Good good!" exclaimed Marluxa, scanning the horizon with their ears as they try to figure out the destination "Rhrmm... we go go this way! Follow follow!"

In a single motion, Marluxa throws themselves over the building's edge and crawls down on the building's edge like some sort of oversized gecko. Halfway down, they realize that James wasn't quite behind them so the gallop back up the wall and peeks over the railing.

"Friend James not hear hear? We go this this way!" piped up Marluxa, using one of their arms to point in the direction of one the school buildings in the distance.

James could only watch in terror as Marluxa flung itself over the ledge. He froze, unsure of what to do. It was a vertical drop straight down, a fall from this height would kill anyone right?

Cautiously he crept towards the ledge, fearing the worst, only to let out a small yell of terror, and nearly fell backwards when Marluxa jumped back up on the ledge, acting like everything was normal.

"How the..? You know what, don't answer. I'm not about to throw myself over that ledge, but I'll meet you at the bottom.

With that he turned, and made his back to the ground, following the same path he'd taken to get to the roof in the first place. Finally, he made it to the front of the building, where he waited for Marluxa to make their way, however the hell that way might be.
