Faye felt terrible, couldn't she just ever be in a good mood for once for Orion?

"I'm sorry for being this way," she whispered. She loved how he continually held her close and rubbed her back. It felt good, physically and emotionally.

She was surprised when he mentioned the park, but it did seem a good place to go. It wasn't exactly dark yet, but she knew people would be leaving the park soon.

"Yeah, the park sounds great," she gave him a peck on the cheek. Of course the alone part sounded great, but it was nice to spend time with him either way. She took note of him looking at the coffee cups and the flask and wondered what idea could possibly be brewing in his head.

It was as if he read her mind, answering her question and all. Whatever kind of fun he was talking about, she was in.

"That sounds like a plan," she gently moved out of Orion's embrace and grabbed his cup handing it to him, then grabbing her cup and the flask. She grabbed Orion's free hand and began to walk slowly towards the door with him.

Before they left, Orion made a quick trip to the counter to return the brushes to the shop. The barista noticed that they were returning them surprisingly fast, and Orion gave a little excuse about how they had somewhere else to be. It was enough for them and they wished the two of them a good evening as they exited the shop into the warm afternoon air, hand in hand.

Orion lead the way to the park in the middle of Manta Carlos. Chugging his drink had left him a little jittery from the caffeine and a tiny bit wobbly from the alcohol. He was far from tipsy, but he could feel his balance being affected. At least once he had to correct his course while walking with Faye.

"Woah~ Guess that stuff was pretty strong. Better to stay close so we can catch each other."

It was a convenient excuse to stand even closer to Faye as they entered the park. It was a beautiful area that was starting to really fill out with green and color in the spring months. The grass was full and trimmed, the trees had their leaves, and the gardens were the best they were going to look. Some of the decorative lamps were already lighting up in the coming dark, lending the area a peaceful and quiet look.

"How are you feeling, Faye? Has the stuff gotten to you yet?"

Faye could feel the effects of the alcohol, but personally she as steady enough to walk. Her mind was a bit fuzzy, but she could think properly for the most part. Orion seemed a bit more wobbly than he did normally, maybe it was a good idea to keep close, she didn't want him to fall.

She wrapped her arm around him, it was nice to be this close. Faye could see the life in the park as they approached it, new blooms of flowers, green trees. Flowers were her favorite part of this time of year.

"I'm doing okay, I can think straight at least." She nodded, more to herself. "But I'm fine, kind of fuzzy feeling."

Maybe she spoke too soon her something, but she started to get lightheaded. She saw a bench up ahead, back in the grass. "Actually, better yet. I think I need to sit."

"Lucky girl! I can already feel my mind goin' a bit. It's like my brain has a little bit of lag, y'know?"

Orion found it mildly fascinating to have his mind and body affected by things like alcohol. He had a full understanding of the chemical reactions and exchanges going on within his body, and how those created the sensations he was feeling. But knowing the technical aspects of intoxication was something completely different from actually experiencing them. The fun then came from trying to discern at what stage of intoxication he was in, how it was happening, and what he could do to... play around with it.

The fuzzy feeling that Faye was talking about was something he could relate to, and he nodded in agreement with her. It was a fuzziness of thought. He wanted to think clearly, but there was static in his thoughts. It was funny. He also noticed the tiny missteps that signaled her own intoxication.

"Yeah. Yeah. We'll sit. We'll sit..."

Throwing his arms around her, he playfully tumbled the both of them to the soft grass and nuzzled into her neck for a few moments as he savored cuddling with her and the grass.

"We'll sit riiiight here. The ground is stable enough, right?"

Now that balancing himself was no longer an issue, Orion took hold of the flask and took a swig of it. He wanted to see if he could get that fuzzy feeling even fuzzier.

"Hehehe... Hoo boy! I'm likin' this walk already!"

She listened to him say they'll sit, and he wrapped his arms around her and they tumbled to the ground. It didn't hurt, it was just a shock, but she began to laugh, and she felt him nuzzle into her neck.

"This Orion, is a playful Orion," she smiled really big, and ran her hand through his hair.

"Yes, the ground is perfect enough," she smiled putting her arm over his chest, leaving her hand there. She watched him take a swig of the alcohol again, one of them should keep a clear head, that was going to be Faye.

"Yeah, it's a nice walk," she giggled. This Orion was certainly playful. She leaned up on her elbows and crossed her ankle, looking down at him. "You're kind of adorable, you know?"

She kept eye contact a little while longer before looking off into the distance. It was a really warm day, and Faye was going to enjoy it lasted, although the air was a bit humid for her. She felt something hit her leg, then her arm, and realized it was something wet. Rain. She could smell it now, and she groaned. "Nooo," she groaned.

She didn't want to go though, so she continued to lay there. If it was going to rain she was going to let it, she want going to stop it from ruining her day. It went from sprinkling, to a steady fall of rain. She turned so she was laying on her back, and closed her eyes.

It seemed that Faye was taking the high road and not indulging in more of the alcohol, or at least pacing herself more moderately than Orion. But he still held it up to her and gave it a little shake to show that there was still plenty left, offering her a swig of her own.

"I can be cute when I wanna be~"

Just to show how cute he could be, he sprawled out on the grass some more and waved his limbs around a bit. Though he risked getting grass stains on his clothes, he was enjoying the soft feeling of fresh grass on his skin to care. For a few moments, they enjoyed each other's company in blissful quiet. The only thing that made him stop was something wet hitting him square between the eyes.

After a second of drunken panic, where he thought something more sinister had hit him in the face, Orion calmed down enough to realize what really was happening.

"But why the rain?"

With a wobbly head, he looked over at Faye as the rain began to pick up. She seemed disappointed and then content. As she closed her eyes, Faye looked like she was one more or less one with the moment, and not worried about anything in particular. Weather was weather and it could not be helped. It was nothing too heavy so it could be tolerated, and even Orion had to like it because it was a nice cool down from the warmth.

After looking up into the sky, rain pelting his face in a mildly sobering fasion, he looked back down at Faye. The rain was hitting her full on, and her sundress was beginning to cling to her form.

"Watch out, honey! Your dress!"

Thinking as quickly as he could in his state, he rolled over and took up position over Faye on his hands and knees, using his back as a roof for her. Droplets slowly dripped from his wet hair.

"Thought you could use some cover. Don't wanna get too wet, huh?"

She watched as Orion offered her another drink from the flask, and took it, one more drink wouldn't hurt. She lifted it to her mouth and swallowed. It was definitely strong, her throat burned slightly. "Here you go." She handed it back to him.

"So does that mean you like to be cute.... All the time?" She laughed at him acting silly in the ground, and laughed even harder when the rain started and scared him.

"It's just rain."

Her eyes remained closed, she knew her dress was getting soaked, and the bad part is it was yellow. Yellow wasn't a good color to get wet, because eventually it became see through. In the moment though, it as the least of her worries. She was enjoying the rain for once.

They laid a few minutes longer before Orion told her to watch out, apparently he had taken note of her dress too. Before she even realized what he was doing she watched as he positioned himself over her, as if acting like a roof. She seriously wasn't that worried about getting her dress wet, but in all honesty she liked being close to Orion.

"Thanks, cover is nice, especially if it's you that's my cover," she smiled playfully. "But you're gonna get all wet now?" It was true he was acting as her cover, but now he had no cover from the rain. She reached up and brushed water from his face, that had dropped from his soaked hair. She could only imagine what people would be thinking if they hadn't cleared from the park yet, but she simply didn't care, she liked being lost in this moment with him.

Though Orion could not have torn his eyes away from Faye to check to see if anyone was looking at them, he would not have found anyone even if he did look up. The coming evening had scattered most of the people from the park, as they went back to their homes or to some indoor activity. Those few who remained were driven away by the rain, leaving Orion and Faye more or less alone in the park, or alone in that part of the park anyway. For the record, Orion was pretty unfazed by the rain. It was the spring kind, the kind that left as quickly as it came, and the people were running indoors for almost nothing.

He also pretty unfazed with letting himself get soaked as he provided a roof for Faye. It was only water, and Faye probably could not afford to get anymore wet than she already was. The rain had soaked her pretty well before his intervention, and her sundress clung to her body like a second skin and revealing nearly everything beneath it. Her white lacy underthings were visible enough through the light yellow of the fabric. If he had let more water get on her, there was no telling how see-through those would become.

Faye's touch brought a pleased hum out of Orion, like a cat purring when its head got petted, and his head tilted into her touch for more. His head was feeling a little light, in a good way, and his skin was tingling with spots of warmth despite the rain.

"Hmmm~ Maybe we should get outta the rain..."

There was a lightness to his suggestion. There was no rush as he leaned his head down and kissed her neck and collarbone.

"You're pretty soaked through, y'know..."

Faye knew at the moment she had picked a bad day to wear yellow, but earlier the thought of lying here in the grass, with rain coming down had never crossed her mind. She was supposed to be enjoying the arts still, but instead of enjoying them for once they had irritated her. Besides, with Orion hovering over her she wasn't getting the direct hit of the rain, and in a way it made her feel bad because he was. He didn't seem to mind though.

She noticed that her touch had a nice effect on him, and she ran her thumb along his jaw again, smiling all the while. She felt that it was wrong to act his way after consuming alcohol, but she kind of found him hard to resist.

She listened to him say that perhaps they should get out of the rain, but the thought of going anywhere else at the moment was kind of forbidden in her mind.

"I'm finding the rain quite cozy, actually." It was true, she liked being out in the rain like this. It had started to relax her in a way. She felt like he didn't entirely want to leave either though.

The kisses he placed along her neck and collarbone made shivers run along her body, and a sigh escaped her mouth.

She laughed at his next words, "yeah, so I noticed." She glanced down at herself not realizing just how see through her dress had become. "Oh," she mumbled.

The touch on his jaw line. Her lilting words in his ears. A gentle sigh that belied something more wily in her mind. These were all things that Orion found irresistibly attractive about Faye as they canoodled in the rain in the park. Orion had believed himself to be a randy young man, swayed easily and willingly into impish doings usually involving the opposite sex. But Faye had frequently shown him that he was not alone in that game. She was less forward with her intentions, but they were no less clear nor any less mischievous than his.

Was it the alcohol? It was probably the alcohol. But it might also have been the atmosphere too. They were alone together, but out in the open. They were warm being so close to each other, but surrounded by the soft haze of rain. With Faye beneath him, even Orion could appreciate the gentle fall of rain.

"Yeah..."

He could feel her glancing down at her own dress as he kissed her neck.

"... Not that I mind, of course. And if you're fine with showing off too, I can dig it."

Lowering himself on his arms, he brought his body closer to Faye's. Not quite on top of her yet, he hovered nearer and teased touching her chest with his own.

"... I take that back. I want to be the only one to see you like this..."

Finally making his way up her neck, to her jaw, and to her lips, Orion kissed her lightly and teasingly. If the rain was cooling her down, his breath would be hot on her lips as it became a little more obvious of what was on his mind.
