Havoc enjoyed the council meetings, although he didn't think he would. They were nice and routine. They dealt with simple matters. He enjoyed the paperwork and the methodical way they could work through point after point.

It reminded him of the military, in a strange way. People generally didn't associate the military with beaurocracy, but it had an awful lot of it.

The meeting had wrapped up, but Havoc was in no hurry to leave himself. He still had the rest of his drink to finish, and he'd been given very firm instructions by a very weary scout trainer that he was supposed to practice smalltalk.

Havoc was legendarily bad at smalltalk, but he at least started off well.

"What's everyone doing this weekend?" Havoc said, almost like he asked that kind of question all the time.

Thievenne, aka Ven, aka Moon Moon, was surprisingly well organized during council meetings.

His appearance might not suggest professionalism; right now, the young man was dressed in too-tight black jeans with an excessive number of belts, a black t-shirt with a screaming crow and what might say Motionless in it (it was metal band font so who really knows), and enough leather bracelets to make even the most astute biker wonder why he didn't just wear a long sleeved shirt. His unruly black hair peaked out from a skull cap in a manner that suggested it was better that the hat was on less his hair develop a thirst for power.

But, Ven took the council meetings seriously and he was organizing his paperwork into appropriate files in an accordion folder.

At first, he didn't understand Havoc's question. Was James Havoc actually asking that? Or was this a test? Something Ven missed on the dossier?

Ven took a quick glance at his planner before he answered and then said, "Studying, I think, and maybe running a My Powers Suck Support Group meeting. Why, what's up?"

Nia was fairly quiet during the student council meetings. Most of her job required that she spent her time listening, doing basic math, double checking paperwork (a task she often completed multiple times for fear having done it wrong the first time), and answering questions when asked. Every now and then she would pipe up with an opinion but most of the time she was nearly silent, sitting in the corner, writing furiously in her appropriately labeled "Student Council Notebook". Usually, when they wrapped up, Nia would gather her things, awkwardly say goodbye to everyone and then scamper off with a list of to-dos she felted internally compelled to complete immediately.

She was pulling her things together when Havoc, who was usually not one to do this, asked everyone about their plans for the weekend. She was glad that Ven answered first and she moved to stand next to him.

Nia liked Moon Moon and felt relatively comfortable around him. Afterall, she was pretty sure at least half the reason she was even elected in the first place was thanks to their joint posters. She looked at Ven and then at Havoc, trying to look engaged in what was happening but felt too awkward and unsure of herself to actually say anything.

Although she could be quite hyperactive and excitable a lot of the time, Fatima was actually fairly serious about her student council duties. She hadn't really expected to get in, and didn't quite know what she was doing at first, but she was trying new things and trying her best to seem like more than an airhead model or slut. She had been nervous about not knowing any of the other members. Yet it also felt like a good chance to be her own person. And the fact that she brought milk and cookies to every meeting wasn't bribery - it was just countering the effects of her aura. At least she hoped so.

The redhead blinked when it was Havoc who started some small talk. It seemed out of character, and she wondered if he was planning something. Fatima looked at her notes again thinking she might have missed something while she was writing things down. Her multitasking skills weren't the best. There didn't seem to be anything though.

"I'm probably eating brownies? I mean with Gareth - I don't just make plans to eat brownies... yeah..."

Havoc, as with most things, had mixed feelings about his companions. Each of them had their own quirks, which ranged very wildly from 'irritating' to 'what is even wrong with them'. Ven had started off with the worst impression by far. His appearance did not just need a bit of fixing, in Havoc's mind: It needed everything to be fixed. Everything that could be wrong in his mind was, so he'd expected next to nothing from the president and found himself confused when he'd been...

Well, not the greatest (Havoc had terribly high standards), but more than serviceable. The kind of demeanor that would get someone a very good performance review.

Nia had... not left much of am impression. She was quiet, and that was about as far as Havoc had gotten. She didn't talk much, and he wasn't the kind to actively start conversations, which meant they'd probably exchanged a grand total of five words between them outside of council work... all of which Havoc had just said.

And Fatima? Fatima was... well, Havoc was just hungry. He was hungry all the time around her. And she brought cookies, which seemed painfully unprofessional, and after a bit Havoc had compromised by bringing a bunch of protein bars and snacking through every meeting.

Ven's answer was expected, as was Nia's, but Havoc's attention turned to Fatima, trying to puzzle things out.

"Brownies? I assume there's something I'm missing." His reply to things quota filled, he glanced back to Ven.

"Nothing in particular. I have classwork, as usual."

Nia was quiet, so Ven bumped her with her shoulder just to let her know that he was there and happy to have her there with him.

"Brownies sound good," he said to Fatima. "I'd make a plan just to eat brownies. Although, I'm not really supposed to have chocolate, so maybe I wouldn't. Hmm."

Ven was intrigued by this train of thought. Now that he realized Havoc really was making small talk, it made Ven wonder if there was a purpose behind it. Havoc rarely seemed to do anything without a purpose.

Of course, there was no way Ven could know that Havoc had a small talk quota to fill. Instead, Ven went to what he assumed was the next logical step in this conversation.

"Would you folks want to do something this weekend?" he blurted out. If he was a dog, his body would be vibrating with excitement, his tail wagging. "I mean, we're a team, right? Surely we should do some kind of team building activity outside of student council."

Ven asked the group, "What are your hobbies?"

Like a dog on the scent of a rabbit, Ven was hooked.

Nia didn't have much of an opinion on anyone unless they were frightening or kind to her. Everyone in the group was different but they were nice. That was enough for her.

When Ven bumped her, she became a bit confused, taking it as a cue that she needed to say or do something, and so she attempted to contribute to the cookie conversation.

"If I eat sugar, I might have a seizure."

Well, at least she said something.

She looked to Ven when he brought up doing something as a group. Team building sounded like a good idea. She was pretty sure she had read something about it in a book at some point. She would look it up in her notebooks later.

"I like to read and listen to classical music." She had a feeling those weren't the best team building activity though.

Team building? Meeting up outside of normal hours? That was... unexpected. Havoc took a moment to try and wrap his head around it. Was that a thing people did? he supposed that it was, and he supposed that it would be normal to say yes, so he gave a small nod in response.

"My hobbies are practicing with firearms, and training for my next profession," Havoc said, approximately thirty seconds before his brain reminded him that lots of people--maybe even most people--weren't comfortable with such things.

Maybe it would be best to work around it.

"I'm open for a variety of activities, although I wouldn't know what to suggest." He could count the number of real social outings he'd had on one hand, and more than half of those had been when he'd been dragged out to drink. Nia was... well, he wasn't sure how old she was, but probably not old enough to drink, so suggesting lets go to a bar wouldn't work very well.

"Okay!" Ven said. He nodded to himself.

So sugar gave Nia a seizure and Havoc's hobbies included firearms and training for his next profession.

"What is your next profession?" Ven asked, the space between his brows furrowing together in thought before loosening back to his previous, neutral-but-excitable expression.

Ven, of course, assumed it was something like future dictator of a small country but he wasn't going to say that out loud.

"Alright, so Nia is about reading and good music, Fatima must be into cooking if she's making brownies, and Havoc enjoys practice and guns," Ven said, ticking them off on his fingers. "What this sounds like is that we have a mix of structured and unstructured activities."

He rested his head in his palm for a minute while he thought.

"What if we went on a scavenger hunt," Ven said. "In the woods, when the weather is a little bit nicer. We could each make lists for each other to find things in a time limit, then we can meet back up to talk about it?"

It'd give them both alone time and time as a group. It'd be easy to adapt a list that was structured, providing specific things to look for, and also unstructured in that there was no time limit.

He figured it was more about the experience than the actual completion of the list.

"I don't know, what do you think?"

No matter how much Fatima thought she was used to other people, she never really was. After she had finished putting her notes away, confident that this was a conversation, she'd mostly just watched the others talk. Conversational skills were something she was still somewhat lacking in. At least, ones that would help in this setting and didn't involve copious amounts of coffee or other things.

The teen didn't know what to think about a team building activity. Even her hobbies were something she was still deciding on, and she wasn't doing the same things she had before she started dating Gareth. Fatima blushed a little thinking of saying anything about that to this group. Other than that, she had her modeling, school, and Gareth, none of which were particularly social. She did still attend a lot of parties, but she didn't think any of these people, except maybe Ven, would like those, even if it wasn't a pretty lame group activity for student council. (And Havoc would probably arrest her if he knew about her underage drinking, or at least get her arrested.)

She was so lost in her thoughts that everybody else had already spoken before she had a chance to, and she really didn't want to say - I like everything involving food - even though Havoc's answer was not much better. Guys and their weapons, really. But a scavenger hunt sounded fun. "That sounds great. I've never really been on a scavenger hunt before. Except, is the woods the best place for it? I mean I've been there a few times and the only thing I really saw interesting was a weird alien who got into a fight with a cat. I guess it was hard to see anything at night though... And the woods... oh wait you're probably not talking about the Forbidden Forest. Actually yeah, the woods sounds less distracting than the city. At least the only thing that's hungry there are the animals."
