<sub>Silence. That's what it was, complete silence. And the only noise was the occasional call of an animal, or a small burst of wind cutting through the bare trees. That's why she loved the forest, it was almost completely silent. Using her tennis shoe-encased foot, she scraped some dirt off of a rather large rock and plopped down, pulling her skirt over her knees.
She leaned her head on the heel of her hands, trying to decide how she would spend the remainder of the afternoon. Maybe she'd play a trick on the headmaster — she hadn't done that in a long time. It'd have to be really good though, because there was no sense wasting a perfectly good afternoon on something stupid. Especially since she might get in trouble for it.
