"Last year..." Roldan sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Well first of all last year was when I got married to Narraine." Which was still a sore point for him. Narraine and he had moved so fast, he hadn't even realized how wildly different their cultures were until it was too late. He hated that things had gone the way they had, but he also guessed that it was best it had all happened so quickly. No finding out ten or a hundred years down the line. Smiling a bit at Celeste, he gave her hand a squueze.

"But the bonfire was also attacked. It was a whole thing. A chimera and some, I don't even know. Giant floating skull that shot lightning or something. The wedding was nearby, some old Lamia tradition about doing it in the woods. So of course I ran to go help. Spent the week of my wedding working double shifts every day trying to keep the monsters from hurting people."

He paused and shook his head a little. He realized he may have worried her away from going to the bonfire with his talk. "Don't worry though. It wasn't an accident, so the chances of it happening again are slim to none. Someone just had it out for us, ya know? But he's gone now, hopefully for good."

Listening quietly as they walked, Celeste hadn't quite realised that Roldan had been married that short of a time ago. She knew he had been married and all, but not that recently. Now it made sense that he hadn't wanted to go to the Ball with her.

"Wow, that sounds awful," Celeste said quietly, squeezing his hand back and smiling softly at him, while thinking about the idea of being attacked on your wedding day, "I am sorry to hear about your wedding being a disaster. Although, they say most weddings rarely go off without a hitch, or a hiccough of some kind."

"I actually eloped, so no wedding to ruin... though the marriage didn't turn out much better, I'm afraid," she said with a tiny shrug. It was water long under the bridge for her and it didn't hurt to talk about it anymore.

When Roldan mentioned someone had had it out for him, them, she pursed her lips together, not liking the idea that he had been in danger. Looking at him when he tried to reassure her, Celeste shook her head, "Public events always hold some sort of risk, but I'm not worried," she said truthfully, "Besides, Manta Carlos has a pretty awesome police force if anything does," she grinned as she hugged his arm to her, glad they got a chance to be together like this tonight.

"It's fine. I handled it pretty well, but that was kind of the start of my downward spiral. Work getting in the way of life which made work harder which made life harder, etc. I had to take an extended vacation a while back to get my head on straight. I was melting my piercings because little things were just setting me off." Roldan gave a light shrug as the two of them continued walking. It seemed like so long ago even though it wasn't even six months. Gods. He really had no idea how any of this had happened.
"Eloped, huh? Mom would hunt me down and throttle me if I eloped. She personally came out to help with the wedding plans and to attend. Gave Titus a lot of flak about her 'baby boy' getting married before he did," Roldan said with a laugh. It had been nice seeing Mom for the wedding. Less nice having to call her and tell her that he and Narraine had gotten divorced. She'd understood of course when he explained, but he still hated feeling that twinge like he was disappointing her.

Taking a look over his shoulder, he could see that the bofire was pretty small now. Giving a nod back that direction, he matched Celeste's grin back at her as she hugged his arm to her. "Want to start walking back that way? Or is this where you spring your trap, now that you've got me alone?"

"That's... " Celeste was going to say bad, terrible, but she knew what it was like and had found that those comments had bothered her after a while. They almost sounded like people said them because they found the topic awkward, or not knowing what to say.

"I am glad you are better now," Cici opted for, "And that you are getting your life together again," she told him very sincerely as she squeezed his hand gently.

"I think I eloped out of defiance, of not wanting to hear my mother tell me being tied down to a man was a bad idea, or that I was too young, or that he was wrong for me. Who knows, all I know is that at the time, I thought it was a good idea." she laughed at the memory.

When they stopped and looked back, Celeste was surprised they had come this far, and then started laughing when Roldan asked if she had planned to spring a trap on him.

"Well, now that you ask," she stated coyly, "I have always wanted a dragon of my own," she teased as she let go of his arm and came to stand in front of him, meeting his gaze, she continued. "So maybe? Maybe, I planned to use some type of witchy sorcery on you tonight, lure you away from anywhere public. Distract you and then bind you with magical chains, make you my servant and all that," she joked as she took both hands in hers.

Roldan stopped and turned to face Celeste as she joked about binding him with magic. He smirked at her and hovered slightly closer. He grew his wings and tail out of his back. His tail coiled around her, snaking up her legs to wrap around her waist. His wings spread and covered the both of them like an umbrella, hiding them from the world.

"That's a dangerous prospect, Miss Forestier. We dragons are vengeful creatures. If your chains break or your magic fails, you might just find the roles reversed. I could keep you in my hoard, a beautiful jewel Jewel in my collection."

He leaned in close, his lips barely brushing against hers. Not quite a kiss, but the threat of one. "Or maybe I'd just eat you for daring to try and chain me."

Roldan's heart was racing. He'd never admit this publically, but he loved the feeling of dominance and superiority he felt as a dragon.

"Ohhh!" Celeste exclaimed suddenly, turning her body a bit as she looked down when she felt something moving up her leg. There she watched in awe as Roldan wrapped his tail around her waist. Glancing up at him, surprised beyond belief, Celeste felt her heart race at as his wings appeared and enveloped them both. She had had no idea that he could do such a thing so easily.

Hearing his words as he pulled her in a bit closer, noting the way he said them, made Cici blush, and her pulse go faster. She hadn't exactly thought about what she had said before, not really. But as she did, she realised what she had said actually could mean very different things. Looking at him again, she grinned.

"And we witches are sneaky and very very resourceful. Maybe you only think that those chains are broken, maybe you have bound yourself of your own accord, and maybe, just maybe, you don't want to break free even if you had the chance?" she suggested with a knowing smile, "Or maybe the witch has put a spell on the dragon and he doesn't even know it yet?" she suggested, staring at him as she stayed very still, not moving at all as Roldan moved in closer, feeling the warmth between them and deciding that she liked it, liked the feeling of whatever this was that was happening between them.

"Then maybe I should go ahead and eat you," Roldan said as he pressed his lips against hers briefly. The heat between them was intense, but maybe that was just him losing control of his emotions. "Just to be sure."

Kissing her again, Roldan held onto Celeste's arms to keep her close to him. His tongue slipped past her teeth, shifting and elongating into its more serpentine, draconic form. He kissed her roughly, moaning softly as he tightened the grip his tail had around her. He nipped at her lip playfully and pulled back, tickling his long tongue against her ear lobe. They were pressed against each other when his lips found her neck, biting and kissing the soft flesh there. His hands sliding around her back to hold her. Feel her. Not let her escape.

Feeling his grip as he held her, Celeste felt a shiver run through her despite the warmth, kissing him back, Celeste heard herself groan softly at the feeling of his tongue as it changed and explored her as he kissed and pulled her closer too him. Placing her hands on his chest, Celeste relaxed her body against him.

Sighing at the feelings he was causing in her, very aware of the heat between them, Celeste closed her eyes as Roldan held her against him firmly, kissing and nipping at her neck, making her shiver at the feeling. It was as if, in some strange way he was marking her as if she was his, an idea that excited her for some reason. It stirred something in her, something primitive that she hadn't realized or even considered before.

"Roldan," she whispered very softly, breathlessly as moved her arms up and wrapped them around his neck. Celeste then pressed herself against him, enjoying the moment of headiness as she recaptured his mouth in hers and kissed him back hungrily.

As they kissed, Roldan's tail continued to coil up and around Celeste's body, slipping under the hem of her shirt as it did. The scales were rough but not sharp, kind of like a textured back scratcher.

He pulled back slightly, his tongue still long and thin like a snake's. He was panting hard, his face flush and his eyes glassy with desire. "We should probably..." stop was what he meant to say, but who even knew anymore. They kept crashing into each other like this and it was only a matter of time before they just went at each other. Was that really such a bad thing?

He told himself it was. He had rushed headlong into things with Narraine. He wasn't looking for a one night stand or even a casual lover. He wanted something real. Concrete. Lasting. Even still, he wanted her like this right now.

Feeling his tail wrap around her middle, snaking slightly under her shirt, the feel of it warm against her skin, caused Celeste to shiver again. She had never really felt something like that before, it was rough, yet, almost leathery too.

When he pulled away, Celeste almost whimpered softly, her gaze dark, full of desire, her cheeks flushed also as she looked at him in confusion for a second, wondering why he had stopped. Then when he said that they should maybe... she stared at him, and found that she could only nod in agreement, yet made no actual move to stop what was happening.

Yes, she knew that somewhere, that wasn't clouded by desire, that they probably should stop.. and yes, they should not rush things. They both sort of agreed on that. Yet, it seemed like every time they got together, they ended up like this, and she was finding it increasingly harder to rationalize why they shouldn't. It wasn't like they were two horny teenagers (though it felt like it sometimes) who didn't know what they were doing. Or two adults just looking for a casual hook up.

Looking up at him, searching his handsome face, remembering how he had kissed her and how she felt, Celeste felt another surge of desire, and quite honestly did not know what she wanted, the logical part of her was saying... just a little longer, while the emotional, illogical part was like, why not? It's what you want. It's going to happen sooner or later.

"Maybe.. it's best if we...stop?" Celeste finally asked with real uncertainty.
