Honestly, when he mentioned his religion, he expected her to turn up her nose and sneer at him, or perhaps he expected her to scream and cry and demand that he never speak to her again. He expected her to make a huge scene in front of him, about how stuff like that was evil and that he was probably evil too. It wouldn't be the first time, after all, and he knew that it wouldn't be the last, either.

But imagine his surprise when that wasn't what she did at all.

She seemed interested, engaged, and wanted to know more about it. Thierry was so surprised that he stared at her in open awe and fascination that equaled the intrigue that she was showing him.

Realizing that he was staring, he cleared his throat. "Oh, uh, yeah, some do." He floundered a bit. No one had ever really asked him deep, detailed questions about the Loa. "The Loa are all adults, but some of them don't like smoking. Some of them are also really mean and try to possess you."

Kaitlyn was pretty used to people thinking she was evil or processed, in fact her own parents were right on that list. It wasn't his fault that he practiced a different a religion. Even at a young age she understood that as a kid the religion you practiced was solely based on your parents until you were able to fully comprehend that you had a choice and there were other religions out there. She pulled up a chair and sat down, setting the sketch books down on the table. she would much rather talk to the new boy she had met than draw. He was cool, and he was different and that was what she wanted, to meet people different than she did back home.

"Oh so, it's okay for them have Cigarettes? How do you keep the bad L-a-o away? Is there like a charm or a spell? Can you do magic with voodoo?" She asked interested in learning everything about his religion. Was his religion linked to his power because that would be really cool.

"You just gotta be firm with them." He says, putting all his attention on his new friend. Well, they weren't technically friends yet, but Thierry considered them to be friends already. She was nice and interesting, and he liked people who were nice, especially if they were also interesting. "Sometimes they'll be like 'lemme just stay for a little while longer' but you gotta be like 'no, you have to go' and then they'll leave."

Thierry kicked his legs. "The evil ones tend to not come around if you don't try to summon them, but sometimes if you don't do a ritual right they can come anyways and then you have to ask the nice spirits for help."

He rubbed his chin. He's never tried doing magic with voodoo before. Was it even possible?

Kaitlyn nodded, making sure to take in all of the information. Be firm, don't summon bad ones, and make sure the rituals are performed the right way. "Well, maybe when you get older you can try! I haven't actually seen real magic yet so it would be cool" She said nodding her head, she was sure that if her new friend could summon spirits then he could magic.

"I wish I had cool powers like that, all I can do is make what I draw come to life." She said sitting down at the table with the boy, she felt a lot better since he was friendly. Perhaps he wouldn't want her to go away because she could do weird things like draw steam rollers and monkey butlers. She always had the fear that even on an island of people just like her she was going to be an outcast.

Thierry nodded. He wanted to try. His parents always told him that the spirits were there to help the humans, especially ones that called upon them properly. There would be no reason he couldn't use the voodoo in purely magical way. He made a mental note to go to the library and ask the librarian if there were any books on the matter. I definitely piqued his interest.

Hearing his new friend talk, he looked at her and gave her all of his attention. When she explained her power, his eyes widened. "That's so cool!" he said, his voice raising in excitement. "You can draw whatever you want and it'll come to life?" He leaned forward, clearly interested. "What's your favorite thing to draw?"

Kaitlyn, stared at him in shock, she hadn't ever thought anybody could see her powers as cool. She thought that her powers were weird and unholy, or at least that's what she had always been told. To see someone actually okay with her powers, well it made her feel much better. Perhaps, she would actually find other friends on the island that felt that way.

"Dinosaurs, and Monkey butlers." Kaitlyn said happily. She knew that drawing a dinosaur would probably destroy the castle unless she went outside. "What's you're favorite thing? Ill try and draw it"

"Dinosaurs and monkey butlers...." he repeated, thinking of those things. He tried to imagine himself with a little monkey butler, but the image was so silly that he found himself laughing instead. If he could make anything he wanted as long as he could draw it, there would be no limit to the kind of stuff he would make.

"What's my favorite thing?" He grumbled and thought about it. Did he like aliens or dogs? Maybe rocket ships or donkeys? He couldn't think of anything. When it seemed like his new friend could make anything in the world, Thierry just couldn't think of anything at all.

After a long moment, he finally said, "I like flower dogs."

Kaitlyn opened the new sketch pad she had gotten gotten from the art room and tore to pieces of out it and tappened them together. A lot of her drawing had to do with her imaginations and so she drew, a dog of flowers.
It's head was a huge boquet of daisy with an obvious nose and mouth and its body made of purple lillies. She made the tail a stem with a rose at the end. She placed the papers on the floor and stepped back as it sowly rose off the page. "Tada!!" she said gesturing towards the dog.
"One flower dog, good for up to 1 hour"

Thierry watched as she drew. He was captivated by the fact that she seemed to be such an effortlessly good artist. As she set the paper down on the floor and a dog made of flowers rose from the paper. It was just like he'd imagined. He walked over to the cute creature and wrapped its arms around it in a hug. It was so cute!

It made him sad that it would only be around for an hour. A friend like this, he wanted to be around for at least long enough for them to be able to play together properly. What kinds of games could he play with it in less than an hour?

Well, since it was three of them...

He turned to Kaitlyn. "Uh, would you like to go outside with me?" He asked, his voice somewhat shy. "W-We could go outside and play tag with the flower dog."

Kaitlyn nodded enthusiastically and put her sketchbook and pens in her bag. "Okay come on, if it disappears i can redraw it so we can finish it." she said excitedly as she walked toards the door to hold it open.
She had never ben invited to play tag with someone before.
