Did they? Jude did that occasionally, but he'd always felt a bit odd about it. His room felt like his private space, and the only reason he was alright with it then was because his room didn't... well, feel like his room. His room was just a space he was sleeping in. It wasn't home.

"You've got more than I do," Jude admitted. "Or about the same, I guess." Just swap a dresser for a bookshelf... He supposed he did have more knicknacks, but that was balanced out by Salem.

Jude let out a small laugh under his breath at the thought.

"Part of me feels like I should be talking to Salem as well. It's almost instinctual. I think part of me still thinks of them as... Not you, but a separate person who speaks on your behalf."

"You can talk to Salem if you want. It cannot answer, though. It is a puppet." Ezra gave a small nod, even adding in a little chuckle. After their adventure with Tadashi, the quiet laugh had come much more naturally to them. They knew it was to denote amusement or happiness, so they were trying to use it when appropriate. "I prefer to keep a bare minimum in my room. I have many articles of clothing so it is just easier to maintain a simplistic layout. I do not quite understand the difference between men's clothing and women's clothing, when it would make more sense to dress in whatever makes you the most comfortable."

The Sho'lai turned away from Angelo for a moment, removing the oversized sweatshirt to reveal a simple light grey undershirt. Their bandages stopped at just above the elbow, and they quietly stretched their arms over their head. "Although I understand the necessity of some form of clothing. Humankind experiences shame and embarrassment by being utterly exposed to the world. They fear showing their true selves to the world in fear of being judged for it. But I wish to acclimate to humankind's mentality, so I keep Salem wrapped in that blanket when not in use. As a matter of respect for humanity's shame of their natural appearance."

As Ezra spoke, a young teenage girl would poke her head into the doorway. She had pale skin, long black hair that descended down to her thighs, and multiple metallic bands on her arms and legs with large opal-like gemstones. Around her neck was an ornate choker, with another of the large opal stones set dead in the center. Her eyes, however, seemed to sparkle. It was if two starry night skies had been laid to rest inside instead of a regular eye shape. Ezra stared at the girl as she stared back before they waved her to come over.

"Nyx, come in. Angelo is a good friend. He has Regalia friends like you."

In the (relatively short) time that he'd known Ezra, it was hard not to notice how they'd changed. They'd relaxed. They'd learned to adapt. They still couldn't pass for anything approximating a normal, narrow-reality human, but they didn't need to. They just needed to pass for mostly human. That was all the island asked. Whether or not people wanted to admit it or not, the island did have a primarily human mindset, and often struggled with accepting people who weren't.

"My room doesn't have much more than yours," Jude said, wondering if Salem felt off about it. "There's a lot of historical reasons for the differing of clothing, but none of which make much sense in the modern day. It's a cultural thing now."

Explaining why there were two different classes of clothing would probably take literally all day, and he wasn't exactly confident in his ability to explain the nuance.

"You've also forgotten a key component in that... clothing's good for protecting you from the elements," Jude said with a grin. "If I walk around naked I'm going to shrivel up and freeze."

Boy was he.

He was distracted by the appearance of someone in the doorway who was absolutely, no questions about it, not a human. Even without his abilities he couldn't have possibly made the mistake. His brain said Regalia, which helped explain their presence, and he gave a nod to Nyx before offering his hand.

"Angelo Genovese," he said. "I'm friends with Wolfgang, if you know him."

Of all Jude's Regalia, Wolfgang was the one he was closest to.

"...I suppose that is reasonable. The various human cultures do seem to regard clothing differently based on the region. And that is also a valid point. I had not considered that the use of clothing would be beneficial in keeping the body's temperature normal. We did not have different forms of weather back where I came from, so the need for clothing was more of a personal preference."

Ezra nodded, white bangs swaying as their head moved. Nyx had entered the room at this point, feet inches from the ground as she floated towards Angelo. She tilted her head at the mention of Wolfgang, opening her mouth slightly as if to say something. No noise came out, but the young woman did give the blond a proper curtsy before floating over to lean on the white-haired teen.

"Nyx is incapable of speaking. Or chooses not to. I am not sure, but I do not believe she knows of your Regalia. She preferred to be isolated due to her abilities. Or that is my hypothesis, at least."

Down the stairs, a voice rang out from a tired sounding redheaded artificer. "Angelo! The blanket is ready for you whenever you're ready. I'll have it folded and on the counter whenever you're all done up there."

Jude watched Nyx go, pondering the Regalia. So many of them were... odd. He supposed it was selection bias. Well adjusted Regalia who were content with their lives would not have joined the tournament seeking something grander. It was the odd ones that did, the ones that still had something to gain from it.

"Have you considered writing things down? That might help-"

Jude went abruptly silent at the sound of a voice from below, his head turning automatically as he registered Asteria's words.

Well, that had been a short visit.

"I should probably go get that," Jude said. "But it was nice seeing you. Seems like I'll be around a lot more, so we'll be seeing more of each other in general."
