Shay had always been a quick runner, and she ran often. Her style of sprinting was short bursts of speed, however, and she realized early on that Auden had more stamina than she did. That meant she was surely going to get caught. She prolonged it a bit by zigging around a few trees, narrowly missing running headlong into a few of them.
When arms wrapped around her torso and pulled her back, she let out an instinctual squeal and struggled to free herself. Shay didn't give much thought to his retreat. She found herself laughing full heartedly at the game. Eroshay wasn't interested in many games, but she adored all forms of roughhousing.
Shay took his hand and pulled herself up, hair a wild mess from the wind and the ground. She pulled a twig from it and flicked it away. "That was fun." She grinned. "But I really do need to get back to class."
When she took his hand, it was as if there was a rather, easy feeling that went through him. They were no longer butting heads, or trying to upstage one another. This, in that moment, was just two teenagers that were having a good old laugh over a childish action. This was what friends were supposed to be like... Right? Though Auden had never had one, he thought that this would be around the same behavior that two friends would have. Light conversations, tackling and laughing; all healthy and normal.
But no, she wanted to leave him? This of course, was something that friends didn't do to one another. With a sudden change though, it seemed as if they had gone from friends to schoolmates once again. Ah, well it seemed that his plans would have to go downhill. Sighing, he took her by the shoulder, with his other hand he lowered his sunglasses slowly so that their eyes met. He would of course let her take a long look into his eyes before, sadly, using his power on her. "It wouldn't be that bad to stay with me for a bit longer, right?"

Shay pursed her lips in thought. She didn't want to go back to school. Not with bullies, bodies, and more eyes. She was tired. Sick of it all; and spending free time with this boy seemed like a good way to waste the school day.
"I guess not," Shay said, uncertain. "Maybe I'd feel better if--" She looked away suddenly. "N-Nevermind."
She was growing fond of gambles and challenges. They were verbal roughhousing.
Thankfully, he didn't have to do much to quickly win her back on his side. With only one question, her whole view had changed. Of course, there must of been a rather large part of her that really didn't want to go back to school, as this persuasion had been shorter than most. With a humble sigh, Auden smiled. He hated the fact that he had to pretty much brainwash people to want to stay around him; what was so bad about him? Yeah, he was cocky and had little respect for others, but he respected people well enough.
Putting his sunglasses back on, he didn't want to use his powers on her, no, not again after just getting what he wanted. "What is it?" Auden asked as his covered eyes batted at her. "You can say it, I won't get offended by whatever you were going to say, I'm pretty tough."

She stood taller, braver, prepared for a strike. Shay wasn't even sure if Auden hit girls, but he seemed the type. She closed her eyes.
Oh, right, William. This was of course probably one of the only reasons that Shay had even considered talking to him. There was always another reason why people tried to act nice around him, wasn't there? His covered eyes softened as he listened to her, as if he was trying to come off as hurt. "I'm not around William right now, am I?" His question had no real meaning to it as he talked to Shay. William was probably in the bathroom crying or something pathetic, though Auden didn't care to find out.
"No, I'm not going to hurt you; that would be pointless." It was cute that the girl wanted to stand up for her... Friend? Whatever the weasel was; it wasn't Shay's turn to take the beating. "For one, you didn't ever piss me off." His throat cleared as he clacked his tongue on the roof of his mouth. "And secondly ah, I only hit people if I don't like them." With that, he tapped his palm on her head. "William will be finnnnee, we are even now." At least, that's what he wanted the Rosales girl to think.

Shay flinched when Auden reached up and pat her on the head, assuming he was about to hit her, or worse, touch her face. She relaxed when he didn't. Meeting his covered eyes, there was a fire in hers. She wasn't going to drop this topic, not until she had a firm answer.
"That's not your business on how even we really are then. If you won't take my first comment as the truth, I don't know what to tell you." SO what if she had interrupted his revenge? It didn't change the fact that he had beaten the boy up for a long while before that too. "The thing is, if I leave him alone, it's just going to be someone else in the future." Did she have some crush on the mouse boy? Were they lovers? That seemed like the most logical answer.
"I mean Shay, if you like him you could just say that." Why else would she care so much about someone like him? "That's fine to have a little crushy crushy on the mouse boy, so, I'll be easy on him for you."

"Are you an idiot? This isn't about something as insignificant as a crush! This is about people and how you should treat them. And if you touch him, if he ever goes missing, I'll know it was you and I'll come after you."
"And why would I listen to a little brat like you?" Okay, maybe his nice side was a bit clouded now, but could you blame him? She was being all moody and defensive just because he wanted to eat his soul? Come on, it's not like he really had a choice. Eroshay didn't understand the struggle of having to eat people he's talked to and interacted with; that was why he made his enemies own and made anyone else weaker than him. The push was something he didn't expect; was she trying to get on his bad side?
"Why do you, a little snarky, spoiled girl, care about how I treat people? Are you my fucking mom now? Should you tuck me in at night and shit, or maybe read me bedtime stories on how to be nicer?" With that, his hands reach out and pushed her back, though his force was minimal compared to the amount she had given him. "I'm not threatened by you, or your family for that matter. I'll do what I want with William because I have to have him." As weird as that sounded, it of course could be taken a few different ways. "To clear the air though; he's not really my type."
