Carmin wasn't sure how he felt about going to a list at his school. He was starting to open up to the idea of therapy, but he still didn't want people to know about it. Maybe he could go there when there weren't many people around. Angelo's statement about a broken leg wasn't wrong either. Carmin confirmed with a quiet "Right."

As they got closer to the dorms, Angelo's direction started to make Carmin realize that he maybe hadn't told Angelo where he lived. "Um, just in case I never told you, I live in (insert Carmin's dorm here)."

Angelo actually paused mid-step when Carmin corrected him, trying to let his brain process what he'd just heard.

Because wait. That didn't make sense.

"But that's the highschool dorm?" Angelo said stupidly, still not cluing in.

Carmin looked up at Angelo with disbelief when he realized that it was the high school dorm but couldn't piece together how Carmin could live there. The scenario was all too familiar to Carmin now, as much as he disliked it. He also knew he was going to have to break the news. He would've thought his MSD bracelet would help him avoid stuff like this, but it rarely did. It was like the general public had no idea- wait. Carmin looked at his wrist realizing that he left the thing at home. He must've forgotten it when he rushed off. There was actually nothing on him to say he wasn't a child.

Either way, he had to tell Angelo. "Angelo. In case you didn't know, I'm not a kid." He cleared his throat a little then spoke in what was pretty close to a mumble. "I'm eighteen."

In what was perilously close to the least dignified thing Angelo had ever done... Angelo very nearly dropped Carmin in surprise.

Thankfully he didn't, but Carmin would probably feel jostled around a bit.

"Oh. Oh," Angelo said, sounding a lot less dignified than he would hvae liked. "Sorry, I - you're -" Okay, no need to point out that he was small. Carmin obviously knew that, and Angelo was only making it more awkward, his cheeks absolutely burning.

"Sorry," he added namely as he headed towards the high school dorm.

For a second there, Carmin actually thought Angelo was going to drop him. His eyes went wide only to return to normal as Angelo quickly proved that he wasn't going to let him fall.

He didn't really react to Angelo putting it all together in his head. Then even when Angelo started to say something, he was more or less able to tell what he was about to say. You're - very small, tiny, built like an eight year old.

"It's alright. I usually have the bracelet that tells people I'm not six, but I was rushing and I forgot it." He really couldn't blame Angelo.

Oh boy did Angelo feel stupid. There were a lot of hints. A lot of hints. But he'd just gone right on ahead and assumed that because Carmin looked like a kid, they actually were one.

Considering how long he'd been on the island, he should have known better.

"Sorry," Angelo muttered. "I still shouldn't have..." Nope, he didn't even know what to say, and he felt super awkward carrying around someone his own age. At the very least he was heading to the highschool dorms now, so there was that handled. "Sorry. This night wasn't exactly great, was it?"

Carmin actually felt kind of bad about how Angelo seemed to be bothered by the misjudgment he'd made. Typically, he couldn't care less, he hated that people always thought he was a kid. But Angelo had proven that he was maybe, just maybe, a good guy. And if that was the case, then it really wasn't fair to leave him feeling that way.

"It's been a rough night." Carmin admitted. "But, uh, it could've been a lot worse." It had been a long time since he'd tried to cheer someone up, but he tried his best. "If you hadn't shown up then I'd still be lying on the cold hard ground." He brought his mouth to a faint smile. "So thank you."

Angelo supposed it could have been worse. He could have just been left out there helpless, which was a crappy thing no matter who you were. Even if the woods wasn't as dangerous as most people thought, something as mild as a wild deer could have easily injured Carmin as he was.

"Can you walk to your room?" Angelo asked, carefully setting Carmin down as they reached the front entrance to the dorms. It was well lit, which he figured would help, but he wasn't sure if Carmin needed a bit more help than that.

Carmin wasn't too sure if he could walk again or not. He kinda figured he couldn't, it usually took some time under actual sunlight or at the very least a sun lamp, however, a test with his arm said otherwise.

He took a step forward with one leg then did the same with the other. It was certainly slow, but it was motion. "I think so." A few more test steps seemed to say it was possible. Just it probably would be smart to head right there, no telling how much energy he had left. "I'll uh, see you around then." Carmin gave a wave before heading off to his room.

Angelo lingered for a while, thinking things through. He felt... well, guilty. He hadn't done anything actually wrong, but that didn't change that he'd effectively spent the whole night treating Carmin like a child. It was demeaning. It wasn't exactly great.

Really, what it meant was that if he ever ran into Carmin again, he'd have to make a point of treating him like an adult and going from there.
