A Nice Surprise for a Bored Eldritch

At the mention of Altizica, Ecta just made a strange noise akin to one of irritation and exasperation. "I have no need to lie. Believe me, if you choose to, or not to. It is of no consequence to me. I answered your questions. That my answers did not satisfy your curiosity only means you did not ask the right ones," Ecta concluded.

"And I do reiterate, Eldritch do not have a culture. Far from it, you will learn that we are beyond anything humans can fully understand," she said as she floated near Ebviony, and then around them and then she passed through them like a ghost.

"Altizica has become far too human-like. He attempts to forge bonds, familiar bonds like other species here; show them, what I assume, is affection, and integrate himself into the biodiversity of this planet by adapting himself both on a social as well as a biological level," she explained matter-of-factly and without any judgment or emotion. It was like she was reciting facts - which in a way she was. Altizica was, in her opinion, an oddity as Eldritch go.

"No, I am not human," she said shaking her head, a gesture she had seen others do. "This is just a form I can take... it's not even my whole body. It's a tiny part, an appendage. I am here, but not," the Eldritch explained.

"And there is no need to apologize," Ecta said peering oddly at Ebviony. She was somewhat surprised that the younger Eldritch-fae had even felt the need to. "You have done nothing wrong, or to offend. Altizica and I simply do not, as you say, "see eye to eye"," Ecta admitted, making that odd noise again at the mention of his name.

"He has taken something very prized from me, stolen it, and I intend to get it back, however long it may take," she informed Ebviony in a very determined tone.

Unfortunately, Ecta was still very unfamiliar with a lot of social cues and with the more complex emotions like the ones Ebviony was experiencing at the moment. It was not out of meanness her blatant disregard or (perceived) rudeness, she genuinely had no clue how to interact properly with others.

And so, unaware that she had offended the young fae, Ecta continued on.

"Yes, Altizica has consumed various planets over the millennia, destroying everything, all life on them. They robbed me, and the entire universe, of their existence, and now any proof of those worlds having even existed has been encapsulated inside of him," she explained bitterly.

"No, he's not," Ecta said as she looked fixedly at Ebviony as she spoke. "He told me that the Altizica that exists now is only a small part of the Altizica who was a planet devourer."

"And I was at the party quite simply because I was invited," she told Ebviony. "Why else does one go to a party?" she asked them.

Ecta actually paused a moment to let what Ebviony said about parties sink in. Eldritch did not actually socialize in the same way as other beings might, or at least she never had. In fact, the whole concept of friendship was alien to her as were other bonds that were based heavily on emotions.

"So why was the party a way for you to find allies?" she stated curiously, fixating on the part she saw as a logical reason for being somewhere like Altizica's party.
