Tristan smirked. "But you are anyway," he said. "That's what makes you the weak little kiddy you are." He was silent for a few moments before he looked down. "You're doing it to save Damien's skin anyway, I'm sure." Black hair covered any trace to see his eyes, which basically hid what little hurt he allowed them to show.

Brielle shrugged. "I'm sure you don't want to die either." She replied. "How did you get in to this mess anyway?" She asked.

Brielle studied him for a moment. "I believe you." She said finally. Somehow, she could tell he wasn't lying. "Damien's sleeping?" She asked.

Wow, she actually believed him. "That's a first," Tristan muttered. "And yeah, Damien's sleeping."

After a while of walking, the four reached the court. There were three desks, and the mad hatter and rabbit took a seat at one, while they gestured for Tristan and Brielle to sit at the other one. In the third was a woman with a crown on her head and a black and red diamond dress.

There was a crowd watching, too. Soon, a smile appeared out of nowhere and a cat was seen on the ground. "Well, well, well, it seems we can finally begin!!" the cat said, grinning ear to ear.

Brielle sat next to Tristan, studying everyone present with amusement. When the grin and then the cat appeared, she smiled slightly. "Curiouser and curiouser." She whispered to him.

Tristan blinked. "Um, what?" he asked her. "That's not even a word."

The cat cleared its throat. "Now, as we all know, our Alice has gone missing," it said. It turned to Brielle. "You, you'll speak on behalf of the murderer, even though we all know what his punishment will be." The cat ran one of its nails across its neck, then continued. "So, where was the murderer on the night of October fifth, 1906?"

The cat looked at her, grinning still.

Tristan banged his head on the desk. This was so stupid and pointless!

"It's a quote. From the book." Brielle whispered back.

Brielle raised her hand, and without waiting for consent to speak, she said, "Pardon me, but Tristan here wasn't alive in 1906..."

The cat's grin widened. "Good answer!" it said. "Now, to get serious!" The feline walked toward Brielle, looking right up at her. "Explain why this man... 'Tristan', as you call him, is innocent."

Tristan just kept hitting his head on the table. This world was really filled with idiots.

Brielle coughed, giving herself time to think of what to say. She was sure 'well, I just know' wouldn't really work. "As I have said, he has been with either me or his brother all the time, therefor, he has an alibi and could not have killed your Alice. As a matter of fact, he doesn't even know who Alice is."
