(Note: for this thread, Amaya can't really talk and acts/is a convincing "deaf mute" so whoever responds may have to mime everything out after they realize this. Should be interesting as a writing "challenge". Please only one to two people respond. The general idea of this thread is that Amaya is mistaken for a lost child who somehow wandered onto campus so whoever finds her takes her with them for lunch or supper and to a club activity and toward the end of the thread they find out Amaya is an incoming student)

This "school" is a strange place. Amaya, arrived at this fortress people were calling an "Academy" from she didn't know where for not even a day, delivered by she didn't know who, given a strange and apparently very weak new type of clothing and given her own quarters to live in, after spending the last few of the daylight hours in a restless sleep, had gotten dressed in a black turtleneck, black denim pants, white ankle socks, black "sneak hers", and applied something called "Mask Scare" to the scar on her cheek, had slipped out to explore the new place she was supposed to call home. From somewhere she heard a bell ring seven times, and in these swiftly darkening hours under the new moon she'd wandered around aimlessly until she'd found a garden, where she'd spent what felt like the last ten minutes sitting on a bench that had its back to a hedge hugging her knees, lost in her thoughts as she sat watching people from a distance. Perhaps it was because of her darker coloring and the hedge behind her, but most of these young people didn't seem to notice her.

She heard somebody coming but chose to ignore it. They were the voices of disgusting males, after all. "Man, are you sure about this?"

"Yeah. One of the clubs here on campus is hosting a late-night stargazing party, and I hear there's a couple of cute girls going. I figure, stars are romantic, right? So, we crash the party, say a few sweet nothings, and bingo, we spend the night exploring a couple of cute nerd babes."

One of the boys sounded like he was hitting the hedges with a stick. "I dunno, it seems like-" As he came around the corner, he swung the stick he was using to hit the bushes and hit Amaya on the head, right on one of her antennae. Momentarily stunned, her head jerked back as she gasped with pain and crumpled against the bench and tears came to her eyes as she sat there completely stunned. "Oh shi- I'm sorry, I didn't see you there, are you alright?"

"Eh, just let her be, if she was stupid enough to get hit then she deserves it. We made plenty of noise to warn people."

"Yeah, but I can't just leave her here, she-... Wow. She's kinda, um, creepy-looking, don't you think? And that's not a school uniform, so who is she?"

"No idea. She looks like a little kid, but there wouldn't be any new students this time of year and I haven't heard of anybody new on the island. I'm not sure what kinda of diphead parent would let their kid dye a large white "x" shape into the top of their head, though." (OOC: the streaks in her hair)

"Yeah, and what's with that reverse pentacle on her cheek? Is that face paint? Is that some kind of Japanese above her left eye, too? The hell?"

"Maybe it's face paint? The kid could be a runaw- jeez, you think her face is freaky? Look at her hands, they're worse!"

Amaya, slowly recovered from the pain of having her antennae hit, snapped to suddenly as she felt somebody grab her hand. She looked up only to see a guy, and with backward jolt, she curled up, fear in her now-crying eyes as her fear of males started to kick in a little. At the moment, she was still following her "deaf mute" routine perfectly.

"Hey," one of them asked, "Are you alright?"

"She's fine, ain't she? No blood. Besides, we don't have time to deal with brats. We have a stargazing party to go crash, remember? If we want to get our pleasurable company tonight?"

"But, what if-"

The more aggressive one growled as he turned and kicked over a nearby trash can. "You know what? Fine, do whatever. I don't care. I'll just have twice the fun while you're out babysitting some brat you don't even know."

The nicer one was about to respond when they heard a shout; both turned and saw somebody heading toward them and ran off in the other direction, back to the school. Amaya, watching them run, waited for a moment, then began to climb off her bench just as somebody else arrived. She stopped, half-standing, watching this new person carefully, her eyes a little red-rimmed from her tears (mostly from pain but from a little fear of men) and waited to see what they would do.

Fucking kids, always out at night in the middle of the courtyard when they should be in studying. When she was a student, Vieve would have killed to have all the time in the world to study. Instead, she was stuck with responsibilities, obligations to care for people other than herself, and that's something these assholes clearly didn't have.

The shout Amaya and the strange man heard was an errant school boy Vieve was chasing back to the halls. She was in all fours, in her wolf shape, running after him. Of course, she was letting him go ahead--she was only teaching him a lesson, after all--because it would be easy to overtake and maul him in an instant.

She'd just got him heading back into the direction of the dorms and tilted her head back to give a low, wavering howl in warning when she noticed another duo of students sitting out. Seriously peoples, finals are approaching!

She was wearing a harness in the navy and star speckled color scheme of the school. There was a name tag that announced her name and rank as an employee here to any who saw it, and attached to the harness was a duffle bag with gods know what in it.

Vieve the Werewolf approached them, a magnificent monster covered in dark, speckled fur and a set of eyes that seemed to glow in the starlight. Her fur was raised, her lips pulled back, but she wasn't growling. It was more the approach of an officer pulling over to a suspicious looking vehicle.. And what seems to be the problem here, her body said.

(OOC: XDDD New moon means there's no moon.... anyways, nothing about the star-gazing party, how it's probably going to have a bunch of students with food and a telescope as a sponsored activity with a teacher for supervision or the trash can that got kicked over?

Also: Amaya still doesn't read or speak yet; she's still supposed to be a "deaf mute", XD)

Though afraid of men in general, Amaya didn't think much of the two who had run off when this new one approached, though she hadn't really heard this new one coming toward her, the one she's almost collided with in getting off the bench. With her little-kid appearance, Amaya normally had a good advantage from being underestimated in situations like this; from the stance of the wolf in front of her, Amaya could tell this person had authority. The writing on her probably said as much as well, if Amaya could understand it.

Still, Amaya had seen scarier things than one werewolf girl. Rekku, her "brother" by adoption, had been a bloodthirsty Direwolf murderer who derived pleasure from hearing and seeing others in pain, though he was quite stupid. He'd been bigger and faster, a trained killer, and from what Amaya could tell, this one didn't measure up in terms of insanity. Amaya blew air out of her nose and scrunched up her nose, looking straight at the eyes of the wolf in front of her, defiance in her eyes. She didn't say a word, but she stood straight and proud, to send the nonverbal message: I'm not scared of you.

Vieve was annoyed. Ugh, great, another student out in the night, and this one had the balls to scrunch up her nose, stand up straight, and basically tell Vieve straight out, 'i'm not afraid of you'.

Well, that was great, but the point was still that everyone was breaking curfew. Still, she had to admit, she was a tad impressed that the girl had the courage to put up with a snarling she-wolf in the middle of the night. But it did leave the wolf with an awkward dilemma. What to do, what to do.

Vieve ruffled her fur, letting it settle back down. Her ears were perked, listening to a far off sound that she hoped was people going back inside and not more people trying to come back out. She gave a flustered, tired sigh that was a very human sounding noise coming from her wolf mouth.

She looked at the girl and then turned around, nodding her head and flicking her tail, angling her body. Come on, then, her body said. If she girl wasn't afraid of her she could follow Vieve on her rounds until the werewolf could think of what to do with her. She had no way to ask the girl her name or what the hell she was doing out here this late, so Vieve just stared at her, her head tilted back, waiting for the girl to volunteer the information.

Of course, Vieve had no way to know that the girl couldn't.

Amaya watched the wolf woman flick her tail. Even for somebody who didn't speak the language, the gesture was obvious. She wants me to go with her. Hmph. I may not be a girl in a red hood, but even I know better than to blindly follow a predator in the night. Deception and misdirection are among the most powerful tools of the shadows, after all. Amaya started walking in the same direction, started following in the direction of the wolf woman. It didn't take long for her to see her new path: on reaching the trees, she followed for maybe ten feet and then spotted a narrow, almost hidden path through the brush.

She turned off onto it and followed it, moving silently, until she'd reached the outskirts of a mostly hidden clearing in the trees. There, around a small campfire started through magical methods- which meant one of those four in the clearing was probably a fire mage, as she didn't smell burning wood- and they all sat on chairs around a table next to the fire, a few empty bottles of beer sitting around them, hunched over something on the table.

Although Amaya didn't understand the language, and didn't understand what they were saying, the conversation basically went,

Boy One: "Man, it's been fifteen minutes and nothing. Do you think this school has some kind of barrier effect to keep it from working?"

Boy Two: Nah, man, it's an Oijia Board. You know, a kid's toy? It's all bullshit and shenanigans. See, I told you all those stories were bull."

Girl One: "Well, then again, we've just been asking it stupid questions, too. I mean, come on, 'what are the answers to tomorrow's math test', 'which is better, chocolate or caramel', 'is Stephanie wearing a bra'.... maybe it just doesn't want to answer our stupid drunk shit."

Boy One: "Well, maybe we should ask it something serious then."

Boy Two: "That's a good idea, Chad. *brief pause* Oh, Mighty Ouija Board, we beseech you, if you're not just some pansy-ass kid's toy urban legend prank, then please, show us a sign of your power. Send us a freaky chick that knows how to party. Your humble servant Kyle demands it."

Girl One (Stephanie): "Kyle, you dumbass, that's the lamest abuse for the powers that be I've ever heard. We're done."

Kyle: *rolls eyes* Okay, whatev, I'll just-"

At that point Kyle picked up the board and Amaya, watching from the shadows, saw what it was. Language may not have translated, but Amaya knew exactly what an ouija board was, and, struggling to keep her face blank, she stepped through into the clearing from her hiding spot in the bushes, causing all three people to stop and look.

Chad: "....Oookay, that's kind of...."

Kyle: *laughs* "Hey, look, the Ouija Board sent us a little kid! Awww, how cute. Guess those 'Powers that be' are pretty weak shit, huh?"

Steph: "well.... I don't know... I mean, she is kind of creepy, and if magic teaches anything, don't judge a book by its cover; she could be..." Steph walked over and knelt down in front of Amaya. "Hey, little girl, are you lost?"

Amaya kept her face blank, still accurately pretending to be deaf. She completely ignored the question, then walked around the kneeling girl and up to the table, looking at the one who was holding the Ouija board.

Kyle: "Umm.... okay, that's kind of... freaky? You're right, something about her's off. Maybe we should get staff."

Steph: And let them know we've been drinking underage and messing around with a banned toy? Hell no. I'm not getting in trouble because of your shit. I say just tie her to a tree and leave. We'll make a private call in the morning and tell somebody she's here."

Chad: "First, though, shouldn't we ditch the board and the bottles? There's this park ranger I know of with an RV, we could blame it on him. He's a drunk anyway."

Kyle: "Yeah, um, guys? She's really starting to freak me out. She just keeps staring at me, and her expression doesn't change. You don't think she's-" Kyle made the mistake of moving toward her and attempting to grab Amaya's arm. Amaya responded by grabbing said arm and biting it-hard- which caused Kyle to scream and swear in pain. Amaya released her bite, and then belted Kyle below the belt first, then another fist to his gut, and then she jumped on him and tried to grab the Ouija Board away from him. By that time, however, Chad and Stephanie had already reached her and grabbed her arms, trying to get her away from Kyle, whom Amaya was kicking as she clung onto the Ouija Board like it was as precious as life, struggling against both Kyle and Steph by kicking and biting where she could.

Vieve was satisfied that the girl seemed to be following her as she led her through the denser, more wooded part of the courtyard. The shifter was tired--it had been a long day and while she never minded doing night work, she was frustrated when she recognized a few of her students and she knew they hadn't done her homework.

She'd turned to motion to the girl to come with her again when Vieve realized she was gone. The werewolf gave a loud sight, sat down, and held a paw to her face, shaking her head from side to side.

She pressed her nose to the ground, taking in a deep breath, and retraced her steps back to where the girl's trail parted from her own. She must have snuck away when Vieve was distracted by the distant scent of beer. Of course, Vieve hadn't really thought the girl would disobey her, either. That was Vieve's mistake, one she wouldn't be making again.

As she traced the girl's footsteps, the smell of beer became stronger and so did the smell of... something else. It smelled like magic fire, the mixed aroma of drunk students, hormones, and stress.

Her ears perked as she got closer, her dark coat concealing her in the shadows. "First, though, shouldn't we ditch the board and the bottles? There's this park ranger I know of with an RV, we could blame it on him. He's a drunk anyway."

Vieve caught most of the conversation, her lips pullingback into a silent snarl. When the girl screamed, though, Vieve lost her restraint and jumped into action.

She broke through the clearing in a single dive, landing in the center of their fire and looking for all intents and purposes as though she'd materialized through the fire.

Her snarl wasn't so silent now, her lips were pulled back to show off her full teeth and a low growl was rumbling through her, sharking the ground around her.

Vieve's tail was held out, rigid, and her message was clear to the students. You've all just fucked up, her body said, and you have two seconds before i start dragging you back to the school in pieces.

(OOC: sorry for short post, am rushed)

Amaya felt the thump of the werewolf a second or so after the other students had looked and screamed. She used the opportunity to snatch the Ouija Board and snap it in half by smashing it downward over her knee. She then turned to look at the werewolf in the center of the fire.

Huh. Typical parlor trick. I've seen better ones- where I grew up, I was a woman amongst murderers with no morals except the strong take what they want, mutt. I speak the language of domination. You're not stronger than me and you have no right to command me. Only Darkness has that right. With her thoughts aligned, Amaya sneered and then walked right up as close as should could without getting burned by the fire, and look straight up into the eyes of the snarling wolf, no fear but rather wrath and a belief in her own superiority in her eyes, one leg in front of the other, fists at her side, teeth bared. In any language, that was a challenge.

Then one of the male students came up to her and touched her arm in an effort to get her to back down. She didn't notice him until he touched her arm, and then she turned to him and suddenly realized he was a guy. With her self-trained instincts for battle and survival not ready for that type of encounter, her phobia of guys kicked in, and suddenly looking very afraid with tears showing up in the corner of her eyes, she fell over backward with a terrified expression on her face. Luckily, she missed the fire when she fell over.
