"I see. Fair enough. But for tougher enemies such as bears, weapons are recommended. Has your style of martial arts taught proper use of pole weapons? A tree branch could be substituted for a staff, for example." He certainly spoke as if he knew much about combat, but he didn't so much look like the combat type. Certainly, he was of an athletic build, definitely in shape. But he didn't look extraordinarily strong, nor did his body appear to have any scares or any other signs of battle upon it. He looked like an above-average handsome city boy in the jeans/t-shirt he was wearing.

"As for myself, I decided to take a stroll through the forest. But it seems as if it was more dangerous than I had hoped for." It wasn't technically a lie, even if he did conveniently leave out the reason for his 'stroll'. "Speaking of which, while you are here, may I ask if there are have been any unusual occurrences on this island as of late? Strange disappearances, mysterious bodies found, that sort of thing?" Well, that was a rather random question to ask.

Naka pointed to stick poking out of the bear's eye socket. He wasn't particularly concerned using a weapon because of his power and training.
"Improvisation is an important aspect of survival. I'm pushing myself by handling situations as they come up." He said simply. He picked up though on the boy's dismissive answer. Saying 'I decided to go to a stroll' was just like admitting that they had reasons they didn't want to tell you. He wasn't too worried about the fact that Alistair was being secretive about his reasons and Naka was actively choosing to ignore that fact. Most of the time prying didn't do any good and it's not like he had never lied before so he wasn't too concerned about it.
"I can accompany you on your stroll if you'd like." He suggested, not wanting to enjoy the company of another bear with no support. Another thing occurred to him as well, Alistair had suggested that he take a weapon, but he himself had not grabbed a weapon thus far. Still, he figured it better to travel with a partner than by himself and at the very least, he could get exercise in protecting people perhaps.

"How inspirational!" He said without any hint of sarcasm. Really, he meant it. "A man alone in the woods, just him and nature. Absolutely wonderful! Truly, one day you shall be able to pass on your wisdom to others." He smiled. However, Nakata never did answer his question as to whether anything strange was going down on the island. In many cases, he would take that as a sign of purposely ignoring the question in an attempt to not give away information. However, something told him that probably wasn't the case here. More likely it was an oversight.

"You may accompany me as you wish, Mister Ishikawa, however I do warn you that I plan for my stroll here to be as uneventful as possible." Especially if this young man were to be here with him, he would certainly not want to find what it was he was looking for. If he did indeed for some reason come across "it", which was highly unlikely, there was an estimated 89.2785 percent chance that Nakata would die within mere moments of doing so.

(OOC: Note that Alistair uses the appropriate Japanese titles/honorifics as appropriate, I just don't know enough about them outside of the animes I watch to actually type them out here >.>)

Nakata was honored for the praise and accepted it with a modest bow and, by keeping his suspicions to themselves.
"Thank you for your praise Alistair-dono. It was actually my father who introduced it to me when I was ten." He shared. It was unusual to share personal information with people, but if he was going to be hiking with him through the woods where he had already been attacked once, he was most certainly going to try to create a certain level of trust. After all, Naka had no intention of being trapped under a bear yet again. Add to that he was now shirtless and it was rather cold outside, he was pretty sure that the situation needed some form of remedy. With that he agreed.
"I would be happy to accompany you. And uneventful sounds excellent."

(OOC: for master in the form that you used it, the honorific is "Dono" which is also the one you use for Lord (or lady) :) this has been today's japanese lesson and yes the ignoring your question was an oversight XD my apologies, and thanks again for this *nods nods* )

"Hmm, first, it is my belief you should find proper attire lest you grow cold. If per some chance we do not make it back by nightfall, you could succumb to hypothermia." As it was, Alistair was in attire for late spring or early summer when in fact snow had already started falling on some days, but he appeared unaffected. At this point he removed his shirt and tossed it to Nakata. Again, his body was free of any type of scar or other blemish. "This should suffice for now, but in the meantime it is recommended we find some warmer attire for you.

Alistair turned and began foraging around the forest floor for something While the trees had shielded the forest floor from most of the snow, much of the leaves and other such things were already fallen. "Leaves and other such things can be foraged to create makeshift clothing." Since he originally planned on it only being himself out here, he did not properly equip himself to take care of others if required. His body was naturally resistant to extreme temperatures, but even he would feel the chill at nighttime, especially without a shirt.

Naka took the shirt and looked at it for a second trying not to be rude but at the same time considerate.
"No need, I won't die from hypothermia since my body will repair the damage. Making clothing from leaves will take time which is time we could use to walk." He said, politely handing the shirt back. It was true, this wasn't the first time he had come out into the snow and cold with very little clothing. Apparently some found him attractive and it was his first run in with a student possessed of mind control abilities. She had controlled his mind and forced him to sleep with her once in the cold, an apparent turn on for her, but when he had been released, he immediately took it upon himself to ensure she didn't do something like that again, and in order to do this, he had set up a trap for her to use it on a teacher posing as him. When she tried again, she succeeded but when that was found out, she was immediately restrained, and staff had seen to it to put someone with the ability to nullify powers in to follow her almost at all times.

His mind had drifted to those events but it had taught him that no matter how long he spent in the cold, his cells would heal from frostbite, from hypothermia, and even from icicles forming in his veins and puncturing him, though the pain and discomfort would be there, it wasn't necessary to spend an excess amount of time on this.
"If you had a knife we could cut some of the hide from the bear, but as it stands we could simply continue." He shared.

"Very well." He said, catching the shirt. Hew had considered just tossing it aside and bearing with the cold as Nakata did, but he did not have the same rate of regeneration and his body would eventually succumb to hypothermia and he would die from it. Unable to argue with Nakata's logic, which of course included that he knew nothing of Alistair's abilities other than this empathy, he placed the shirt upon himself once again.

"Unfortunately, I have no sharp object upon me. And while it would be possible to sharpen a rock in order to use as a knife, the amount of time it would take to do so would not be worth it. Thus, I agree with you that we should move on. Do you know any landmarks perhaps, or should we wander aimlessly?" He, in fact, did know of a single landmark. A cave that was nearby. This supposed cave was apparently quite deep, but there was a problem.

Alistair would die if he did not eat every 4-5 hours.

And he needed a rather large meal, at that. There was no way he would be able to traverse the cave without dying, unless he packed a lot of food. But, he figured that at least checking it out wouldn't do any harm. He could survey it as best as possible and return later if he considered further exploration. But now with Nakata present, he was hesitant to follow these plans.

It was likely Nakata assumed Alistair was a student of the academy, but that was incorrect. In fact, he had already trespassed more than once on school grounds after-hours, as well as attempted to hack into their mainframe database. This meant Alistair needed to tread lightly in his conversation, lest he give away too much information and eventually rouse suspicion. He had already done so with a teenage girl from the academy as it was, and he did not want a repeat of that situation.

Naka shook his head adamantly.
"I don't know anything about this place. It's my first time coming out here int he two years that I've been here so we may want to record some. He said before looking back to the bear. He did want to make use of it since it had died in order for him to live, but there was little he could do about it right now since he hadn't exactly prepared a kit for butchering animals and so he was left with nary a chance at doing anything to honor it. He was also ready to move forward now though, and he figured the could, at the very least get some use from the bear. He quickly ran over to it, getting some of its blood on his hands and swiping it onto a nearby tree. He got his hand wet with the bear's blood once more before heading back to Alistair and nodding in a fashion that suggested he was ready to move.

He observed Nakata's movements without a word, before returning the nod and turning towards his previous direction of travel. He had just over three hours left before he would require food and planned on preparing a meal before those three hours were up. Normally, he would be cautious not to wait too long before hunting, as his body would quickly become weak by the time those three hours were up, impeding his ability to hunt. However, with an ally now by his side, and the obviously high population of creatures in this forest, he decided it would make little difference.

In the meantime, he would continue his trek through the woods in search of anything suspicious. It was unlikely he would find much of anything, though. But maybe Nakata would be able to give him some information on the academy as well as the island it was on.

The path he took did not appear to be any sort of trail, rather it seemed to be almost completely at random. While he appeared to know where he was going, it was almost a wonder if he was actually lost. "What are your interests, Master Nakata?" He asked seemingly to pass the time. However, his motive certainly went deeper than that.

Naka walked with Alistair but the question kinda caught him off guard.
"Martial arts, for focus, control, expression, and I've been interested in biological sciences, chemistry, and math. my studies and my practices are pretty much all that keeps me interested. What about you? He responded, while posing his own new question. He didn't want to pry too much given some of the information that he had been given, yet at the same time, he wanted to know more about the person whose back he was supposed to protect.
