It meant it was probably normal people, poaching with normal methods - traps, guns. Things he could handle, and understood. He was no more immune to guns than any ordinary human, but he was familiar enough with them that he didn't really fear them. Guns weren't dangerous - the people with guns were.

He slid into the camp, already letting his power do it's work. A glance would not find him - Thresher would have to be actively looking for him to see him.

"I assume you're a good tracker, then?" Because if he wasn't, they were screwed - he wasn't going to be able to follow anything but the most obvious trails.

Thresher stepped into the camp and began rummaging through things. Nothing specific really, just anything that might be of interest. there really wasn't a lot here though, probably a fairly fresh camp, used no more then twice.

He sniffed a few times, then glanced around to find Angelo. It took him a second, but he eventually placed the man. "Yeah, I'm good at tracking, it shouldn't be to hard." Thresher's nose could locate most scents pretty easily, he had an easy time finding his way to most things that way. "Spot anything interesting? or should we move on?"

He had no experience camping, but he simply had to think like they were smugglers. This was simply another base, and he simply had to look as he always had.

"They're out and about, probably on patrol, but they're still using this camp as their headquarters. If we don't follow them, it's likely they'll show back up here, so if we don't find them, we can circle back." No sign of backpacks. Some food still stashed securely to keep animals out, but no clear signs of water. They probably had some kind of canteen or water bottle that they kept with him.

"I'll be nearby." He said, giving him a nod. "Trailing after you. If you spot them, just signal, and I'll go on ahead and see if I can't grab them."

RE: A Hunting We Will Go [Nightstripe]

Thrusher just grunted an acknowledgement to Angelo's observation. "Seems that way. We'll head after them then." he cast his gaze around the camp, and sniffed at the air around it. The smoke from the fire was masking the scents, so it looked like he'd have to eyeball it for a little bit.

He took a minute or two to figure out what the freshest trail seemed to be. Snapped twigs, displaced foliage, tracks, whatever seemed to me the more recent thing leading away from the camp. He headed of in a direction and began stalking through the trees. He was relatively silent walking through the brush, at least for a man of his size.

His big feet would just sort of roll over the ground, leaving most things undisturbed. Before long he began sniffing again, picking up the scent of someone else on the path. Thresher nodded to himself, and after heading a little further down the trail he thought he had something pegged. He gave a vague little wave meant to signal Angelo.

He sure as heck seemed to be sniffing. Sniffing the air like a dog might, trying to pick up a scent. At least he wasn't bending over to literally sniff the ground, Angelo supposed.

Not that knowing he had a good sense of smell helped much. Off the top of his head he could already think of a good dozen mythological creatures who had some kind of enhanced sense of smell. Even then, it didn't really matter what he was - he was just curious enough about the strange things that were on the island. No matter how long he stayed on the island, there was always something new and interesting, some weird new supernatural creature that fed by eating paint off walls or something.

Angelo made noise, but people missed it. He made a point of being quieter than usual, rather than just crashing through the bush, but in light of his powers it just became background noise. It was the sort of thing a human's brain would just skip right over, and he fell in behind Thresher. He couldn't see (or smell) anything, but he supposed that was why Thresher was there.

Thresher just kept moving, not worrying too much about where Angelo was. He'd been told the guy would disappear, so there wasn't much point in looking for him.

It didn't take long for him to spot who they were looking for. Crouching in the brush was a hunter with a rifle, waiting for their prey. They were a little ways away still, and wearing the typical hunter's camouflage, but it wasn't too difficult to spot them.

Thresher waved Angelo on, wherever he was, and began to stalk up on the guy himself. Thresher moved more like an animal then a person when he moved through the trees. This was proved to not be the best thing, as the hunter caught the movement and mistook the wolfman for some other kind of game and fire at him.

The bullet slammed into Thresher's chest and knocked the hulking man onto his back in the bushes with a grunt of pain.

In a way, he did - but he'd thought that Thresher would have been able to get closer than he did. He wasn't used to this kind of hunting, and he wasn't prepared for the sort of hair-trigger that a poacher might have. The bullet was in the air before he could reach the man, but he didn't get a second shot in.

Angelo lunged, grabbing the tip of the rifle and using his momentum to slam it upwards. The poacher didn't see it coming in any sense - one minute he'd shot at some animal moving in the woods, and the next his rifle was slamming into his face and Angelo was standing over him. Surprise was always a huge element, and Angelo had ripped the rifle out of his hands before the guy could even figure out what had happened.

The man went down, and Angelo slammed a foot into his chest. Not enough to break any ribs, but enough to hurt - and enough to keep him down for the moment.

"If you just shot a cop you're going to be in a shitload of trouble." He hissed, not dragging his gaze away from the poacher. Maybe he'd missed. Maybe it hadn't hit him at all.

"You okay?" He called, raising his voice, his powers fully dissipated. Hopefully he was fine.

Thresher let out a grown as he stood back up. There was a very obvious bullet hole in the upper right side of his chest, but he seemed nonplussed by it. "Yeah, I'll be alright." He proceeded to dust himself off and check for an exit wound as he walked over to the two men.

"We get 'em?" Coming to a stop in front of them, he frowned a little as he realized there was still a slug in him. He was gonna have to dig that out pretty soon.

He let out a little snort. Whatever was going on, it wasn't human standard. If he hadn't been shot, there'd be no blood. If he had been shot, there should have been far more.

"Could have warned me you were extra durable."

He flicked the rifle's safety, quite confident he could handle the poacher, and then tossed the gun over to Thresher to catch before pulling out his cuffs, rolling over the barely protesting poacher so he was face down in the foliage, and cuffing him.

"At an absolute minimum, he just accidentally shot someone, even if you can't get him for poaching." He said, hauling the guy up and onto his feet. "Bit more concerned about if you're okay with getting shot." Just because he wasn't bleeding like a fountain didn't mean he was okay.

"They didn't tell you? Figured that might come up." He snatched the rifle out of the air, and looked it over a little before just holding it at his side.

"'Okey with' is a bad way of putting it. 'Tolerating', is I think the word." He gritted his teeth as he pried the chunk of lead out of his wound with a finger. "It's happened a few times, you figure it out."
